Finally a decent score at a rain soaked but exciting new-in-progress Nudgee

A bit of luck and some dropped putts led to a scored 7 over 75 40 points on the trimmed down par 68 course

    Down to 10.4

More rubbish at Windaroo on Friday off 9 – 28 points and 17 over

Short game involved a lot of bunker shots but I got 2 out of 6 up and down so that was ok
3/8 of the chips and Texas

    Putting was pretty crappy

I’m sure there is too steep but I doubt a casual golfer could tell just from looking in full speed

    Great round

Rubbish 20 over off 9 for 25 points at Royal Pines

A few poor shots but mostly just missed greens by a little and had big hills to putt over and didn’t convert

Frustrating day but great to be out there with 3 other clubs taking over the whole course

Hills in the wet off 11 today – off the whites

Poor front with 3 7s for 11 points 48 shots
Better back 20 points and 40 shots
    31 from 16 over 88

Hills was greener than I have ever seen it

10 FIR – 3 shots dropped with driver including 2 from a lost ball on 4, plus 1 dropped with 7i behind a tree on 5

    3 GIR + 10 Texas – 2 dropped from irons and 1 when a thin MD finished behind a tree on 1

    6/14 up and downs
5/10 texas – not so good
    1/3 PW
    0/1 LW
Greens were very slow and bumpy which didn’t help

31 putts + 10 Texas – not great putting, but missing greens left lots of long putts
    Putter needs some work

Royal Pines next weekend and we are sharing the whole course with 3 other social clubs in a mega comp which will be fun

    Played Caboolture today off 10
    17 41 front
    17 42 back
    34 83

    Handicap out to 9.7

    8 pars 8 bogies 2 doubles

5/13 fairways – 2 shots dropped from hits into trees

4 GIR – plus 8 Texas – 1 dropped from a toed 8 iron on 1 after the club hooked up in the grass on the backswing and I didn’t stop

    6/14 up and down – 8 dropped

31 putts – 1 dropped from a short miss after a good bunker shot on 18

Not bad and 5 pars in a row from 9 to 13 was good

    Hills next Sunday

Played at Oxley today off 7, which at Oxley meant 5 shots on the back which we played first, and 2 shots on the front

Had 17 back but only 15 front for 32 points and no flag

    2 birdies 7 pars 5 bogies 3 doubles 1 triple

10/14 fairways – 1 dropped shot but overall drove really well

6 GIR – dropped 2 shots from poor hybrids and 2 from irons mixed in with some very good full shots

5/13 up and down – 8 dropped shots did most of the damage to the score

    31 putts – 1 3 putt

Overall played ok for quite a lot of the game but a few shockers cost me a potentially decent score, as did a bogey train run after the turn into the front nine

The quad was an extremely ugly performance, and following it with a double involving 2 rubbish punches from the trees in a row ended any chance of a good score

    Frustrating bloody game

Just gotta focus on the positive which was a lot of really nice approach shots – that’s where the good scores in the future will come from

Hopefully can build some consistency around the full swing improvements I’ve been working on

Played Pacific in their stroke comp today off the whites
Had 10 shots available but needed 15
    33 points

    1 birdie 7 pars 7 bogies 1 double 1 triple 1 quad

8/14 fairways – drove fairly well today, although Pacific requires hybrid or iron a lot so 6 of my tee shots weren’t driver
Dropped 2 shots from a topped wet hybrid, but did put some pressure on myself with 2 sliced drives

6 GIR – some really good shots today into greens and another 4 holes were just off. But still managed to drop a lot of shots from needing low shots and hitting them poorly
Dropped 6, 4 from hybrids, 1 iron and 1 punch

    3/9 up and downs
1/2 LW pitch – no dropped shots
    0/2 LW chips – 2 dropped
    0/2 LW sand – 2 dropped
    0/1 PW chip – 1 dropped
    2/3 Texas – 1 dropped

34 putts – 2 3 putts. Greens were very fast today and the 2 3 putts were from over 40 ft so overall happy with the putter

33 points is a chance of being a flag

McLeod next week for my matchplay quarter final

Interesting to see how different states respond to varying degrees of an outbreak. Even more interesting to see how some defend the action taken and those that depose the action taken. I guess it is one of those little problems that will be with us for some time yet. It will be interesting to see how the economic status of all the States will be in 12 months time due to the actions taken by the various premiers. No sense in blaming the Comm Gov, States wanted their individuality and it was granted.

There seem to be plenty who are blaming the PM and saying he should take action through economic force and whatever else he can come up with

    It’s a crazy world

Overall it’s gone great and even thought I wish more Premiers took a path like Gladys I don’t agree with piling on as if they are criminals

They are making political decisions – surprise surprise!
