I’ve finally edged my ‘cap out to 18.0
That’s in line with the original estimates considering the goal posts were moved by 2 when GA included a ‘rating – par’ adjustment into the equation.

Which makes no difference at all to your played to score.

What would you be out to if you weren’t on the anchor adjustment that kicks in after you’re 3+?

    19.1
I hit my 13.9 low point in March. But because of no golf, it was still hanging around on 23 May. So I cannot get beyond 18.9 until after May next year. In the meantime I’m still playing crap.
I’ve been capped since mid June.
My average score over the last 20 is 28.75. I’ve had one 36 points, one 35 points and seven others that made it to 30 points. But at least only one below 20. Do you need any more evidence of crap golf?

Didn’t they also move the 0.93 multiplier?

Yes, but it’s still in the mix.

Nine holes around my old stomping ground of YVCC. Sad to see that while the playing surfaces were great there has been no maintenance during lockdown of the garden beds, hedges, tree limb clearing etc. Indicative a club running out of money.
Struck the ball well, hit greens (5/9 GIR), 1 x 3 putt, 6 pars and 3 bogies for 39 OTS. Room for improvement with a 3 putt bogey and a stupid bogey on the last from A1 position off the tee. 1 legit bogey where I found trees and had come out sideways.

That’s privately owned. Nice little track though.

For those few who occasionally visit the ‘old’ forum, I noted he also posted it in there.
Maybe he didn’t like our answers and wanted ‘expert opinion’. It was the same anyway, but with rule book precision.

Stab at Warra while the good golfers played their clubbies knockout rounds (finals tomorrow).
Front nine wasn’t too bad with a wipe on the no-shot 6th hole, but two pars and 16 points.
Back nine did not go well with two trees catching and keeping my balls, knackering my score. But I also contributed heaps of other rubbish for just 10 more points.

    Had an interesting one today.
Two players were just off the front of the green and wanted to go the Texas Wedge.
Player 1 was almost directly in front of player 2 in line with the flag and player 2 was disappointed their putting line was blocked.I suggested that they let player 1 putt on first as an alternative.
My marker then said that player 1 could mark their ball and let player 2 have a clear putt as both had elected to “putt” for their next strokes.
I called BS and considering it was Senior Club Championships said that wasn’t an option.
Old mate insisted and said it was legitimate he had seen it happen in a Penant match.
So my question is what is the correct ruling here?

    Yes Mick, it’s legit.
The player whose ball is nearer the pin cannot elect to mark his ball, unless it’s preferred lies or it’s actually on the green. The player whose ball is further away may request that the interfering ball be marked and lifted. The first player may then do as requested or play his ball instead.

Stab at Warra today. Only two 3-points, too many 1-points, one wipe.
    13&15 = 28 points
    Lacking consistency.

    Stroke at Warra today.
Only played half the holes to my handicap, shame about the others.
    Gross 99 – very gross.

Beautiful conditions, with less wind than yesterday. Fairways have recovered from their winter dormancy and the greens were very slick. We all (in our group) suffered from too many 3-putts.

Not all that bad you have broken 100 for last 12 rounds in a row

    That 99 was a stroke round. I had a 9 on the par 4 16th.

maybe time to move forward to red tees to increase your confidence in game until you can break 90, sure you will be off 14 but its a good way to get your game back in shape, then go back to the blues when you are breaking 90 regular basis.

On many holes the reds and whites are together. We don’t have a red tee comp for men.

Old farts’ nine hole stab at Warra this a.m.
Started on 10 and managed to do everything wrong and wiped the hole. Then 2-pointed every hole until a 1-point on 17 and a 3-point on 18. So, that’s a 16 point total.
Drives were mostly quite good but I just couldn’t gain any ground on the initial loss. The strong, gusty wind caused some havoc, particularly turning putts away.

So my Xmas and birthday presents this year is a Mevo + golf sim.
I need to get an impact screen, projector and mat.
Looking for advice. Any recommendations or ideas where to go for recommendations?

You can have a lot of lessons from a golf pro who can see and correct your faults for a lot less than the cost of the high tech gadgets.

Clearly, he has plenty of dosh, let him have his toys.
