OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today.
Front nine: one wipe & 3 doubles for 13 points.
Back nine: one wipe, one double but a couple of pars to help get to 16 points. A couple of 3-putts.
Total just 29 points.Perfect golfing weather – fine & mild, barely a zephyr of a breeze, no-one holding us up or breathing down our necks. No excuses.

OldBogeyParticipantPlayed today … a crappy wipe, a couple of 1 pointers, and 38 points (or 3 or 4 over.)
Loving the Wilson blades, the Wilson putter, the Wilson wedges, and the Cobra Driver and 3W.
Not loving Beacy as a club however …….. My membership up at the home of flog has now run out, and I am awaiting some sort of positive action from the club re covid membership relief, before possibly rejoining.
The board allegedly are awaiting the full financial picture before working out if there is going to be a fee relief for members, seeing as we were about 16 weeks or so without access, (about $500 or so that we paid for not having access to the course)
Some clubs have given a couple of months free extension of membership, some have provided members with rebates, but Beacy are burying their head in the sand and offering fark all, and not even offering a date when a decision will be made.
Beacy meanwhile, put their loans on hold, they also got grants, and the workers got jobkeeper etc.
I originally emailed them about a month or so ago and got the same bullshit response.WTF are they waiting for as they have all the onfo they need as far as I can see.
Meanwhile, I did mention to them, that I may go to a monthly membership (in case I want to leave the joint if I get no satisfaction from this covid ripoff), but get this …….. a “pay monthly” membership exists but you are locked into it for a total of … 12 months, and you pay an extra 10% over and above the full member cost for the privilege …. FFS.
They really are trying to piss the members off, and me in particular it seems. Oh, and today I should also mention I’ve been invited to try out for the pennant team . and pretty much gave them a one fingered salute as a response.
Well enough for today …. I’ll post again when there is something newsworthy to put down ……..
A couple of options, Gaz.
You could join Olinda and pay green fees as you go until you decide just what you will do.
You could join Warragul. You might live far enough away to be eligible for ‘remote’ membership. We have lots of Melb members.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantThe usual stab at Warra today.
Started with three doubles, then three pars and finished the front with three bogeys: 17 points.
Back nine was all over the shop. The rain came down when we hit the 13th. I don’t like rain and wiped 13 & 14. One double, one bogey, four pars, one birdie. 18 points.
Total of 35 points. Coming 35th out of 120, unlikey to get a ball DTL.After I whinged last week that my last 20 scores had few scores in the 30s and I hadn’t cracked 30 for the last 7 rounds, I’ve had a considerable turnaround with a 40 point, a 4BBB 44 point (handicapped as 39) and today’s 35. So I’d better pull my head in now.

OldBogeyParticipant4BBB stab at Warra today, president’s vs captain’s.
My partner and I had 44 points. There are three 48s, three 47s, three 46s and a heap of 45s ahead of us, with most scores in.
On countback, we’re coming 22nd, so will be lucky to gat a ball.
Personally, 33 of those points were mine, although I would have had more if individual scores. Two 4-point birdies, five pars, so happy with my performance. We both wiped the index-18 6th hole.We did get a ball each.
13 of the scores were mine, 4 were partner’s, and that wipe that neither of us scored.
The system handicapped me at 39 points !!!!!!
Mystery 6 (6 randomly chosen holes, best score wins). All 4 of partner’s scores were credited. That left only 2 of my 13. It’s a bastard system.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantAnother round f what could have been, 35 points at Rossdale off 15, that makes my last 5 rounds , 34, 35, 36 34 35. And all have at least 2 wipes. Just need to get the bad errors out of my game
Solid, consistent performance, jrg.

OldBogeyParticipantMy last 7 rounds in GL were all in the 20s (points). Until today.
The usual stab at Warra.
Started with two 6s (most holes are par 4), then two 5s, then two 4s, two 5s (par3 & par5), two more 4s, then the pattern broke.
18 out, 22 back for 40 points. That’s been a long time coming. All up, three doubles, seven bogeys, eight pars.I would like to think that I’ve ‘cracked it’ for consistent drives, but I just know that Saturday will be back to normal.
Thursdays are usually a small field (57 today), but it looks like I’m in the money.

OldBogeyParticipantSo, pretty much doing the same thing and expecting different results?
That sounds like a plan to live by.I’m going to try to trademark that quote because I thought of it.
I’ll do it when I trademark a new word I made up, I’m calling it plagiarismedIf I was doing the same thing each time, I’d have consistency.
Sounds to me that 26 points give or take is pretty much doing the same thing each time.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re a tremendous slouch.
Thanks Goldy, your support is very much appreciated.

One point per hole on most of the front nine: 9 points.
Back nine was better with 17 points.
Total: 26

OldBogeyParticipantWe’ve had this discussion before, CB.
Consistency would improve my average scores considerably. I can stuff up all types of shots, and manage to do that too often.so what are you doing to improve your consistency to drop 3 to 5 shots off score..
Just regular play in the hope that my aging brain learns what works and what doesn’t.

OldBogeyParticipantFor those few who occasionally visit the ‘old’ forum, I noted he also posted it in there.
Maybe he didn’t like our answers and wanted ‘expert opinion’. It was the same anyway, but with rule book precision.what is this old forum you speak about? Do you have a link?
Maybe you could let them know where we all are now.

OldBogeyParticipantImagine comparing Mick’s voice to a little background noise.
Ok, point taken.
But some people are a bit too precious when it comes extraneous noises. A mower two holes away, traffic on a nearby road.

OldBogeyParticipantAny players who can’t swing a club while there’s a little background noise should only play with themselves.
