I believe this has been around for a while but I only heard about it today and , I must say, I found it disturbing.
I’m talking about the scoring app that enables golfers to enter their scores , hole by hole as they play, on their mobile phone.
I cannot believe ANYONE is actually doing this. Surely it’s contrary to what most club golfers want and that’s to speed up the pace of play. All this is going to do is slow everything to a crawl. And, apparently, it can flatten your battery before you finish your round.
I believe one Perth club is almost enforcing it on their members.
Apologies if this has already been discussed, I did a search and couldn’t find anything.There are a few around and with the Covid issues, many clubs have adopted the online scoring so scorecards dont have to be shared.
Im not sure why its any different from a time perspective compared to a pencil and card? Fill out card then digital sign, put in GL# etc and ap, off to the pro shop.
Re batter life Im unsure on that one. if its an APP that may be the case but some also use internet for the scoring part.
Id love to hear feedback from users form around the country

That was like our very first group at the very first Nats, there was you and me and Ben and someone else whose name escapes me at the moment – they obviously weren’t that memorable or fun or drank that much Gold.
Whoever that guy was, I know it was difficult to get out of the cart.

It’s starting to look brighter here in NSW for a resumption of our OOM series.
June 28 was slotted in as our next game, at Oatlands. I have been in contact with the GM and should know by end of next week if we are good to go.
Is Oatlands golf day happening as I need to lock it into my golfing calendar for next month.

First round of the year at The Glades with the Qld crew. Played with Panda as still in twosome per group
Hit the ball really well tee to green. Stuffed up a couple little pitch shots and three 3putts. Very slick greens
33 pts. Played off 5. Shoulda woulda coulda day.

From what we saw from behind you you had the driver on a string Mads
yeah only missed two fairways (like way in the shit) – once way right on 15 but still stuck it 20ft, then 16 I went to drive green and pulled left into the lake.
I had a few in the rough but no biggy getting to green so may not technically count as fairways hit.
Greens were slick and if you slightly overcook the putt it ran by 6-8ft! Very tough to try and not hit too hard!

Mads, if/when I can make a Nats when you make it at a time that I can come, I want one round with Commish pretty please where i have 8000 questions that I want to ask him about every second of his career and awesomeness in general and talk his ears off.

True… but it will be hard to hide the deep hoppy attitude of this one with just another name. If they do, it will be on my shopping list.
There is a Canadian one out there as well with a very strange name that escapes me at present. Had it a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. Haven’t seen it since.best piece of advice I’ve been given though rarely follow is to take a quick snap of the beer or wine you buy. If it’s a winner and you can’t remember what it’s called the next day. 💥 open your phone if you haven’t lost that.
