    Isn’t the simple answer? BEER

I like you even more now!!!! Ahh yes, that crucial golfing accessory. It may not be THE answer, but it’s a damn good runner up.

$300 basic or reasonable 2nd hand set until you get some sort of swing happening and determine if you want to keep playing.

If the answer is keep playing, then a couple of lessons to hone/correct that swing.

Join a club and see how the handicap goes.

Once you start to drop handicap and realise you like the game and want to continue, get a few more lessons.

At some point you start hitting consistent scores and your handicap stabilises.

THEN get fitted for some decent irons…

THEN get fitted for a driver and FW with good shafts.

THEN get a few more lessons.

    THEN watch your handicap drop.

NB:- Hopefully this all happens when you are young enough to take advantage of it.

NBB,, the above is what I should have done.

A New Year brings New Beginnings, New Hope for a Covid free existence and New Goals to achieve. If not in golf, I hope you all find what you are looking for in 2021 and I wish you a safe and healthy journey to wherever that may be.

Started my year with a .4 drop.

Well my next game will be on NYD so my race is run for 2020. Finished at 16.5 and I think it would be fair to say that with the new handicap system and my level of golfing prowess, (plan on a couple of lessons for 2021 though) I think the majority of 2021 will see me fluctuate between 15 and 17. Time will tell of course.

Good stuff! Before you know it you won’t have any 2017 games in your 20 handicap rounds!

Yeah 2023 should see some movement..πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

It turns out I have 9 games from 2017 in my last 20, so I’m thinking Commish is right on the money.

You blokes should get out there and play a bit more. Golf can be fun.
The oldest round in my last 20 is 3 Nov, six weeks ago.

    Some people have a life..

20 rounds every 6 weeks sounds like a life I could deal with tbh

You can look forward to it in 25 yrs when you retire. Prior to that you have a working life to lead. You did however get a taste of it whilst in the unemployed transition stage..πŸ˜ƒ

25yrs until ‘retirement’? Only if he’s 25 now … no one works full time past 50 these days, do they?

Depends on whether you were brave enough to boost your super contributions astronomically from the age of 25.
