May 22, 2021 at 4:12 pm #16812OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today. After parring the first, most of the rest of the front nine was rubbish. Used too many shots to get to greens, a couple of wipes. 11 points out with 15 putts.
Back nine was a lot better: 18 points and another 15 putts.
Total 29 points (crap), 30 putts (better). As I lose a 38 point flag today, that will take me another 0.1 to a rock hard cap which expires tomorrow, but hangs around like a bad smell for more rounds yet.

Now pennant is over I can focus on brining handicap down again.

Playing off 20 gave me an extra shot on index-1 13th.
Duffed a chip on 11 resulted in a 6. A 4 on the par3 18th. All other holes were 5s including a 3-putt par3.
End result 18 points.
It was hellishly slow, but that’s quite normal for that crowd.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

May 24, 2021 at 7:28 pm #16833Can break 80ParticipantRoyal Melbourne East course today with JRG and friends. Thanks for invite
29 points = 4 pars + 9 bogeys + 4 DB+ 1 (other)
Hit lots of good shots today with no reward, had 4 holes where hit every shot good but still made a bogey.
some very difficult pin placements at front of greens made scoring difficult on the rock hard greens.JRG and myself combined for aggregate score of 48 points.
At RM score doesnt matter its about enjoying the uniqueness and magnitude of course including the awesomeness of the holes and knowing you are playing holes that best players in world have played, with pars and bogeys.. It really is a special place.

Played at Lang Lang today. Great to get back and walk the course. The club offered a burger/steak sandwich and chips in the price. We had 36 turn up and there were a lot praising the conditions. Played off the back markers.
Played off 11 and had 81 OTS (41 & 40) for nett 70 and 29 putts.

No and no.
They do their own bodgey handicapping. It’s surprising how close it matches the real thing a lot of the time.
Simple enough: less than 18 points you go out a stroke. Better than 18 and you come down by as many you were over. Easy to lose 5 strokes in one hit.

Ï did see that a whole group from Southern GC played so I figured it was the Police golf day.
Thanks for the praises of course, it really is the new home of golf, and in better condition than lots of other more expensive inner city courses.
