MM yesterday at Southern off the blue plates and rating had me off 11 for the day. Shot gun start due to VW Scramble on before us. Hit off on the 15th….stroke and counting putts.

    Front 9 – 44 OTS
    Back 9 – 44 OTS

    88 nett 77 with 14 & 17 putts (31)

Had some really bad holes that ruined a good score –
    9 on the par 4, 2nd hole
    6 on the par 3, 12th hole
    7 on the par 5, 7th hole

A birdie on the 9th and a few good pars.

A mixed bag but a slight move from 8.7 to 8.6 and a flagged round.

    Regular stab at Warra today.
A couple of wipes, half a dozen pars, one birdie, 36 points.
Was playing off 17, that’ll be back to 16.

    What caused the DB’s CB80?

I hit 4 DB today too. ( just to make you feel better) Mine were caused by 3 putts and one muck up tee shot and poor second shot trying to make up for the tee shot. The greens at Heywood have more slope and I didn’t do well at short putts ( speed control) , So near, yet so far. How can a ball bend at 90 degrees over less than a metre?

4 DB were caused by 3 poor tee shots and 1 x3 putt.. All caused by not committing to the shots. What made it worse was that it was on my home course, where should know not to have DB.
lesson with coach next Friday will focus me again

First game back after a ruptured Plantaris muscle in my knee/calf (exercise is not good for you) put me out of action approximately 6 weeks ago. Went out for a hit planning on 18, pulled the pin after 9. Struggling with weight transfer and protecting my left knee so everything was going left and a long way left. Working on building confidence back up with some drills at home this week.

Heading down to Port Fairy for the long weekend so hopefully will get out for a hit there – fingers crossed knee holds up.

I don’t know which is worse; a poor tee shot putting you under pressure or perfect tee shots and getting a GIR, then 3 putting after a good lag putt and missing the second shot by a fraction!

Vets at Lang Lang today. Single stab, but average scores determined which tean won.
West Gipps beat South Gipps by one point, 28/27. I passed the trophy on to our captain so it won’t have to decorate my dining room for another year.

How did I play? Only one wipe, 31 points.

The usual mid-week stab at Warra tomorrow.

An audit / recount has been conducted and that found that South beat West by 0.1
So, congratulations to South Gippsland Vets.

I expected that my good round on Tuesday would have cost me a stroke off my playing ‘cap, but I was left on 17 by .1.
Stab at Warra today, 33 points. As I have three 31 point flags, this will cost me that stroke.

Social game yesterday at Rossdale. Haven’t played there for quite a few years. It was in very good condition.

    Front 9 – 41 OTS
    Back 9 – 41 OTS

    Scrambling game was great.

I miss the stories about Rossdale.
Do we know how that one passionate fella is doing and will they merge with RM or TPC Spyglass or whichever club it was?

Does Jon still have his finger on the pulse of a cadaver with the ever changing inside word?

    Good times.

MM stroke & putting yesterday with Olinda club @ Beacy.
Some good, some bad. Lost a couple of balls, nett79. In stab terms, three wipes, only two 3-pointers.
Perfect weather for golf, course was in good condition, although the greens were a bit slow, even on the Hills course. I left around six putts a couple of inches short.
Annoyingly, they still have the “don’t touch the flag sticks” rule in place, when the rest of the country has moved on.

played in south gippsland open mixed day at Lang Lang (the new home of golf today). (course was in terrific condition and greens just a little slower than “normal Lang lang speed) (those readers who have played course will know what I mean)

been baby sitting grand kids all week so was nice an relaxed with low expectations on out come.
good process from start and didn’t want to let partner down.

I played well to game plan and had 80 OTS= 35 points. Lady partner of 14 had 32 so we combined well and had 67 points for a win. (she is also coached by the super coach, so that was a nice connection for us.)

wife is happy with the nice voucher I won, as will give her more things to buy for new house.

good part about game was that I didnt have an out on card and even better was very consistent as didnt score worse than 5 on any hole, this is second time this year I have done this in a round and 2 out of last 4 rounds where haven’t had an out, so getting some degree of consistency back in my game.
travelling this week to country, and back on Friday just in time for club championships next Saturday.

    What can I say
    7 day membership is full
Only about 5 6 day membership are left
    And 5 day almost full

There are interesting developments on the course front both on possible new build and the changing economic landscape for a course owner more updates from the club to come soon

    Stab at Warra today.
Rain threatened a few times but we didn’t get wet.
How’d I play? Not particularly well. Too many 1-points, a few wipes, short chips and putts.
    13 out, 17 back for a 30 point total.
More of the same tomorrow, unless it’s too wet to play.

As an adjunct to today’s report, the cops had set up a breathalyzer at a roundabout on my way home, both on Saturday and today. On both days all I’d had was coffee and both times they just waved me through without testing.
