WeetbixParticipantMegs asked her doctor yesterday about getting AZ and he was unequivocal – wait for Pfizer
So it seems the medical community is split too
WeetbixParticipantMaybe my highlight of the day will have to be you “complimenting” me for my drive laying up well short of the fairway bunker you thought you had driven into only to find that you were just in a swale 20 or 30m behind my ball! And 70m short of that bunker.
The one where I then put my wedge’s pitch mark a foot short of the pin?
Was there a nearest to the pin on that hole?
Highlights there a plenty

WeetbixParticipantSpeaking of driving how good was Rusty! Not sure he missed a fairway, and with the Bryson power kick off the front leg was getting some out there really well.
Was great to watch
WeetbixParticipantUsing a brand new ball with freshly cleaned clubs, my first swing back in 6 months was a vicious snap-hook left that hit a house.
Starting the shotgun at Hope Island on 16, I washed that and the 15th for 32 points.
It took me a thousand holes of catching the ball on the toe end and turning it over to realise I should stand a smidgen closer to the ball, resulting in a measured drive of 304m, then a sand wedge to a few feet for a 3 a 4 that helped me a lot.Otherwise I was just so fair dinkum rusty that it didn’t feel comfortable at all.
But, it was the most awesomest enjoyable day with Dad and Weets. Such a fun day at an amazing course. Really loved it all.Subsequent advice from Weets told me that he thought I was standing too upright, which explains the toed shots.
While the golf wasn’t spectacular the company sure was – great to have a hit wit you again mate, and the Rusty Old Man himself
A bit of rust is to be expected given you still have games from 2017 in your golflink – and the resulting very low handicap
That birdie drive was a beauty no question – and one of the few times you got me on the day 😂

Hopefully we don’t have to wait as long for the next hit

WeetbixParticipantThe perfect taper?
Possibly not?
WeetbixParticipantBrisbane Fairways round at Hope Island today
Beautiful day, course was in great condition
Playing off 11 (GL 9.9) and shotgun start off 161 birdie 5 pars 11 bogies 1 double
6 Fairways – 2 dropped shots off the tee with Driver. Overall drove pretty well.
6 GIR – 1 hybrid and 2 LW pitch shots cost me. Again overall was fairly decent.
6/12 up and down – dropped 4 shots
1 from 0/1 LW sand shots, but happy as it was a good bunker shot
2 from 0/3 PW chips – bit disappointing
0 from 0/2 LW chips – putter let me down on one of them
1 from.5/6 Texas wedges – happy with that32 putts – 2 good ones, 3 3 putts and 1 short miss for net 3 shots dropped
35 points all up and 12 over 83 off the stick
Down to 9.8 – only a 0.1 drop
WeetbixParticipantWeets, I know you love a good start.
It will be 155 days between my last and next game.
That’s 5 months and 4 days
Which works out to be 42.47% of the year.I won’t have a chance to touch the club’s before the game too. Yay.
This post did not age well…
Let’s recalculate it to be 211 days.
Which is 30 weeks or 58% of a year.I had a 20 minute putting session the weekend before last, so I’m primed.
What me now jinx everything again with this post 🙄🙃
The perfect taper?
WeetbixParticipantMy mate Natnkyls always says you need a selection of putters and when one stops performing you put it in the naughty cupboard and bring in an alternate
Until it stops performing and then you put it in the naughty cupboard…
You get the idea

WeetbixParticipantYeah totally different experience to get feedback on distances and shapes compared to just how contact feels and where it hits the net
I’m looking forward to using it more particularly for experimenting a bit with different feels and approaches and being able to see what they do to the ball flight, as well as tweaking my setup to bring the shot shape into a playable range
WeetbixParticipantSkytrak is a photograph based launch monitor than measures the launch of the ball in 3 dimensions and shows it on your attached device
I can use it in my back yard hitting into a net
It was about 9 degrees when I got to the course at 7am bit by 8am after 3 holes the jacket was off
85 – par 71 course
I think I’ll try and straighten things out rather than dial down to 180m – but thanks for the offer
Hope Island is a bit north of the Gold Coast, so not even in the same hemisphere as Gilligan’s, although it’s quite likely you will find a Ginger there most days

WeetbixParticipantOff 9 at Carbrook today in very pleasant conditions – bit brisk to start but quickly warmed up once we started walking
Finished with 1 birdie, 4 pars, 11 bogies and 2 doubles for 14 over and 31 points2 Fairways – driver wasn’t good today costing me 5 shots, and with a hybrid hook on our first hole 10th stopping under a tree I was 6 over off the tee – so that’s the main story of the score
5 GIR plus 4 Texas – dropped 3 shots here but picked up 1 1/2 from 6i to 5ft for birdie and 7i to 15ft to get a point after going OOB off the tee on 16
7 1/2 over from the full game is not where I want to be by a large margin
However I bought myself a Skytrak as my local range is closing end of this month, so hopefully some work on that will straighten things up
5/11 up and down – dropped 3 1/2 shots here so that’s positive
31 putts – 4 dropped but 1 made up. Not good enough
Hope Island next Sunday will be a real tester
WeetbixParticipant
WeetbixParticipantThanks xrman
Most courses up here are in top condition right now so we are really enjoying that
If we keep getting some rain over winter – which is the day season up here – they should enter spring perfect and we could be in for some superb golf for the next 11 months
WeetbixParticipantBack down under 10 with 9.9 after today’s played to 9.4 from 36 points at Maroochy River
The course was immaculate and the greens were very fast and firm but our winner smashed it with 44 points
3 birdies (all 4 points) 7 pars 4 bogeys 3 doubles 1 triple (double from a stab POV)
Effectively 9 over which was handicap9/14 fairways – dropped 2 shots
6 GIR – dropped 1/2 from a poor wedge and 2 from bad LW pitches, but plus 1 from a 7i to 10ft for birdie so net 1 1/2
6/15 up and down – 6 dropped
1 1/3 8i chips
1 1/2 0/2 LW chips
1 1/2 0/2 LW sand
2 5/8 Texas29 putts – 2 3 putts offset by 3 long putts including 2 birdies so +1
Rolled in heaps of putts today – just one of those days and enjoyed it very muchNice to be back into the 9s, if only just
