OldBogeyParticipantYou could try nano tape. It’s some sort of thin silicon tape with a nano coating both sides, making it very sticky.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra, ‘for handicap only’.
Started poorly with wipe, par, wipe, wipe but then steadied for 14 points out.
Then 17 points back in for a 31 point total. The weather forecast was for storms and snow down to 1000m. But we had a lovely sunny day. The wind sprang up a bit toward the end of the round but is quiet and sunny still, a few hours later. Playing in pairs, the round took a little under 3 hours despite waiting on every hole for the first nine.
Commiserations to those under lockdown and curfew.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra.
11 points out: two doubles, two wipes.
17 points back: two doubles, one wipe, but also three pars. All flags move south a notch. My 35 points on Tues cost me .2 off my ‘cap. Four non-flags to eat up before I can get them back.

OldBogeyParticipantStab ‘for handicapping only’ at Warra today.
Starting holes in points were 2, 1, 0 for a total of 3 points in 3 holes. Then the ship steadied somewhat and I rounded out the front 9 with 14 points. By that time, the weather had warmed up a bit and I managed 21 points on the back. When I arose this morning, it was -0.4°, 4° when I left home, up to around 6° at tee off and up to 16° when we finished. It’ll be spring in 3 weeks.

OldBogeyParticipantWe use the app at our club, I think it is quite simple, you can preset your phones screen lock time, so that’s not an issue, if I’m in a cart, it’s in the drinks holder…. always within reach. Phone still has battery life left at end of day.
Love the live leaderboard aspect also. We use it to gps the hole locations during setup. Much rather use this than the card… always searching for it. Oh I’m above 50 years of age and adaptable to change, if that helps.
There are others in our membership that don’t own mobile phones, but still use gps machines for distance reasons, so for me it’s same sameI have found the gps is not particularly accurate, but that’s most likely due to the el cheapo Chinese phone I have. When compared to my really old Sonocaddie I also use, and to the laser rangefinder.
As for some not having a mobile phone, yes there are luddites around. But most have readily adopted and adapted.

OldBogeyParticipantNot being able to play this week due to carts banned due to wet weather, I was keen for a hit today. The weather forecast indicated there’d be diabolically bad weather. The storms came near but headed off to Melb.
Plenty of vacancies on course but stage 3 restrictions mean playing with masks on, in pairs and no comps.
So we had a ‘for handicap only’ round. I had only 2 pars, 8 bogeys, and 8 doubles or worse. 25 points.
It was quite windy but barely a few drops of rain. That’s better than not playing.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Too wet for carts on the course.

OldBogeyParticipantMaybe we should be doing speed golf. It takes me around 50 minutes to play 18 holes – falls in under the 1 hour of exercise and could keep the golf courses open as long as you live near one. 🙂
as long as only 5k from home?
Sounds like that is no longer an issue…travel limited to the front gate?
That’s only for those who are required to quarantine at home, most awaiting test results, but also if positive. Now, if not found at home when the body checkers call, a $5k fine.

Old farts’ 9 hole this morning. Playing off 18 & starting on the 10th.
I had a wanker score (6 for 1) on the easiest hole (11), but 2-pointed all the other holes with regulation bogeys.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

You’re not actually exercising unless walking or swinging a golf club. All that standing around waiting for other players is not exercise. Everyone got their stopwatch ready?
Except the prison yard courses are now closed.

OldBogeyParticipant10 Double bogeys is a lot.
lucky it want a par round or you might have been minus 15.If you had a net 81 and came 105th, what score was the playa at 164. ?
The last 15 were out of it, 1 was a NSA, 1 was playing for handicap (only played 9).
The last eligible player, at position 149 had a nett 96, pIaying off 14.
There were also 24 ladies, 1 NSA, the 23rd had a nett 93.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
