OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra, great weather. 18 & 17 = 35.
The odd wipe, a couple of 3-putts. Happy with a par on the index-1 hole (just missed the birdie).Great a 9 point turn around from your last game. and nice par on 13.
with a score of 35 points did you finish in top 15.
No, well down the list. But I just scraped into the ball DTL list.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today. Lots pulled out due to promised storms and an 8° top temp.
This morning started with glorious sunshine and very little on the rain radar. My own weather station indicated 10° outside so I found a tee time @ 12:26 (10th tee). Just when we thought we’d been lucky with the weather, a squall rolled through while we tried to play the 11th and another not long afterwards. A few sprinkles at other times but mostly the weather was fine but with a cold blustery wind that played havoc our intentions. How did I play? Crap. 2 wipes, 4 doubles and nothing better than a bogey. 26 points.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra again today.
Started with a 4 point birdie (ball stopped a foot short of the hole leaving an easy 1 putt). I held on until the index-1 6th hole (no shot) which I wiped. 18 points out.
Two wipes on the back resulted in 15 points back in. 33 points.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantThings are looking up. Not only are we back into 4 person groups playing regular comps, but now we can also share carts and have drinks afterwards. Ok, there are still some restrictions but it’s not too bad, particularly compared to our locked up brethren.
I wouldn’t describe sharing a cart with you as things are looking up.
That’s your loss.

OldBogeyParticipantRegional Vic and our rolling average is 1.1, unlike Melb who are still in the shit with 30 odd.
Went to a BBQ on Sunday, very pleasant, so was the weather.
This arvo it’s my turn to host our (now reinstated) weekly get together. I’ve been to the supermarket to stock up and, as usual, Aldi failed to have any of the advertised shiraz, but I have enough. And my robovac is busy doing the floors for me. I did the dunnies on Monday and only have the stove to polish up.Apart from having to wear the bushranger kit when I go out, life is pretty much back to normal. Can’t visit the kids and grandkids though (Melb).

OldBogeyParticipantRegular stab round at Warra today. It was bloody windy but otherwise fine and good for golf.
19 out and back for a 38 total.
One birdie, 5 pars, but also 2 doubles and a wipe. Currently leading but with only half the field in, I won’t hold that spot for long.111 players – looks like I’ve got a 2nd in B grade.
It’s been a good few days.
Yesterday was B grade 2nd: $35 and A mystery 6: $35
Saturday was B mystery 6: $40Mystery 6 is a supposedly random 6 holes for which your scores are totalled. Usually 3 holes on each nine.
Saturday’s I won on the back nine total from a crowd with the same score, but yesterday’s was all the way back to the second hole.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

September 19, 2020 at 10:00 pm in reply to: 10 bad golf swing mistakes high handicappers make #13549
OldBogeyParticipantJust did an interesting webinar on how to lower your golf score by 5 strokes with out changing your swing.
seems most people High handicappers and even mid handicappers when get on course play game of swing where they think the only way to have a good score is stand up to the ball, think about all 10 things you mention above, try to make perfectly executed swing with the right Zen movements and have the club on perfect plane. and only outcome is hit perfect golf shots every hole.
In actual fact they should think about how to have the best score can on the day with the swing you have brought to course with you. If that happens to be a slice 10m wide, that’s it, play with that dont fight it.

Can break 80.
Or correct the slice and don’t do any more of them or else you’ll drop a shot on every hole instead of just the first hole.

OldBogeyParticipant#4 above. That’s me!
Is it. ????? dont get cause and effect mixed up.
If hit aggressive on wrong start line ball wont go in.
you say that are 3 putting because missing short putts from 1 m then according to my coach it due to 1 of 5 reasons.
a) not reading correctly (practice NSEW drill and count how many in out of 10)(on course if miss one from say west of hole hit from other side of hole and hit same putt again.this will show break).
b) not aiming putter face correctly (most golfers aim too far right)(if aim too far right ball will die to right giving impression of not hitting hard enough)(use string drill) on course take address, move behind putter, adjust face
c) not starting ball on correct start line (face control)
d) not speed control (inconsistent hit on putter face)
e) poor pre shot routine on putting.
Not saying i am a perfect putter, I am not, but to get better I need to do more work on all 5 parts of putting game, especially a,b and d)

Well done BG, you’ve just covered every aspect of putting, so if you miss a putt it had to be one of those failures.
