Stab at Warra today. A few good holes of 3 points each and a few more wipes. 14 out & back for a miserable 28 point total.
I had some fun in a couple of bunkers trying gentle outs but failing, so I continued to successfully repeat the failures quite precisely. I could hit the lip at the top of the bunker every time.

There are plenty of you tube instructional videos on how not to get out of a bunkers.

If you are hitting the top lip that shows consistency in technique.

I was just being too gentle. But when you don’t get a shot on the hole and you fail with the first attempt, a wipe is probable. So I figured I might as well get some practice. Consistently weak.

    Have you been golfing anywhere?

I’m not religious, but with Dan not allowing believers to pray for something better, one could assume that he bats for the other side.

These restrictions really are ridiculous. Previously (a step or two back), we could have up to 5 guests which enabled our weekly get together of four old farts sharing a few drinks and snacks. Now that we’re all bubbling along quite nicely, with no coronavirus for more than 6 months, we can have 10 people from two households if they’ve bubbled together, but I can’t have 3 people from 3 households. They’re not even allowed to go anywhere where they might catch the fucking virus.

    It’s all very depressing.

Multiplication stab at Warra yesterday, partner playing off 5.
We matched pretty well on the front for 42 points. But on the back we had a few failures and struggled at times for just another 23 points. Another 40 odd points would’ve had us in the winners’ circle, but a ball each was all we won.

Dan’s decision today will determine my golf direction and the direction our lifestyle will take for next 12 to 24 months.

The results looks like you might have to give the Lang Lang membership away? Might have to join Cranny?

Sadly looks that way Francie, as DANSWALL looks like being there for some time.
Plenty of options inside 25km. such as Cranbourne, Ranfurlie, Settlers run, Sandhurst Pat river, Centenary park

We might even move down the other side of DANSWALL next year as a good chance the same thing will happen again.

How about you, Southern would be inside your leg rope limit.

Yep….17 ks away but we have to wait a while for the full members to have a go before us. Only allowed 2’s at the moment so a trip up to Beacy might be on the cards?

Beacy on line green fee booking system not showing available tee times.

Beacy is only allowing pairs, no comps.

Stab at Warra today, temp greens gone.
15 out with two wipes, 13 back in with one wipe.
28 points. I lose a flag so the ‘cap will edge up a little. I might even get another stroke.

    Usual stab at Warra today.
I did not play well. 12 out & back for a 24 point total. Two temp greens with the flags planted on fairways didn’t help. A poor excuse because some others had good scores.

Which holes are temporary greens ?
    why?

11 & 12 Replacing the grass in front. Should be back to normal today.

Oldies’ nine hole at Warra this morning. One 3-point, three 1-point, = 16points.
    Lovely weather for golf.
I do feel sorry for all you Melb prison inmates who aren’t allowed out to play.

    MM at Warra yesterday.
How did I play? Appallingly. I was only just beaten for NAGA by someone called Caleb, probably an eight year old.
    A couple of 3-putts, a 4-putt and a 12 on a par 4. Say no more.

So an adjusted Gross of 104 off 16 =120 was actually even worse if one factors in the 12. really around 125.
    No ….not good.

But I am not being critical as there is a good chance in my first round out from prison I probably wont break 100 either.

out of interest which hole did you have the 12 on.

Not sure about your maths there, CB. 95 nett plus playing ‘cap of 16 =111. But either way it’s shit.
It was hole 16 and by that time I didn’t really care, although I’d just parred 15. 3rd shot rolled nicely onto the green and headed toward the flag, but the wind wouldn’t let it stop and it dropped into the bunker. With a close pin, I tried a nice gentle shot with my Rake wedge. The ball came up nicely but not quite out. Hitler would have been proud of me with two more of those. Three identical shots! So I gave it a bit more for the 4th and it flew the green into yonder rough. A gentle chip back onto the green and the same wind rolled it back into the same bunker. I then used the lob wedge for another two followed by two putts.
Earlier in the round I had some 7s and 8s. So my care factor was 0.

The Rake wedge will be out and my regular sand wedge back in. I should add that there was nothing wrong with the bunker.
