Could people in Victoria stop getting Covid. I’m booked on the Spirt of Tassie this week for some camping, wine tasting/drinking, and golf at Barny. Would hate for Tassie to shut the borders to us again.

Good luck with that BB. ☺

    MM stroke today.
Started ok but it went to crap on the 5th when my tee shot nestled beside a boundary fence post. A backhanded knock away from the post just put it among tree roots that needed another backhander to get on the fairway. On for 4 and 3 putts for a 7.
Then on the 6th (index 18) on for 2 but the ball rolled back and into a bunker, then flew the green to the high side for 3. A bladed wedge sent my ball back into the aformentioned bunker, on for 5 and 2 putts for another 7.
The rest of the round was ok, finishing with a 90, less 15 for a nett 75.

Well, they promised bucketing rain, damaging winds and basically crap weather with a top of 24°.
But it was beautiful, sunny weather with a gentle breeze and has just hit 31°.
There are some clouds gathering on the ranges to the north, but the rain was supposed to have been this morning.
Good thing I didn’t cancel my golf booking.

    Stab at Warra today.
    8 pars, 1 wipe, 5 doubles. 18/17 for 35 points.
Not a bad finish for the year. Another stroke off my playing ‘cap.

Happy new year to you all.

I’m in my ball park at 17.1
Unless I have a good round today, that’ll be it for the eoy.
Considering that GA brought in that adjustment for the difference between par and the scratch rating which takes 2 off the playing handicap at Warra, I feel I did pretty well.
Now to consider what my new goal will be. ????

I spoke too soon. 35 points today. I have a 30 point flag, so I’ll lose .5 or .6 when today’s round gets processed.
That will drop my 17.1 to 16.5 or 16.6. A spot on hit on my eoy 16.5 target.

    Howzat!!!

    Stab at Warra today.
Only 3 pars, one wipe, 33 points.
Caught up with CB80 and Dancer who played a few holes behind us and I was still in the lounge when they came in. They both scored better than me. Dancer is now a Warra member.

Oldies’ nine hole stab at Warra this morning.
One 3-point to counter one 1-point. But unfortunately I made an absolute mess of two holes to wipe them both.
14 points. Will get me an extra shot for next time.

    Stab at Warra again today.
Front nine was alright, but dropped shots on the back.
Three pars & a birdie but also two wipes.
    Just 30 points.

Old farts’ nine hole stab this morning.
The oldies do bodgey handicapping. If you 17 points or less, your ‘cap goes out a stroke. If you do better than 18, or win the day even if less than 18, you lose as many strokes as you had over 18, minimum 1 off.
So, due to my repeated incompetence, my ‘cap had crept out to 23. On the back nine, that’s 3 holes with two strokes.
Armed with that, I started with a 4 for 4 on the 10th (index 5) and had three 3-pointers with nothing else less than 2 points. That’s a 23 point total. I may win the day with that but, in any case, I’ll lose 5 strokes of my ‘cap for next time.

some poor results from trying to play some go for it shits

so, is this where / how / why you often describe your golf as poo?

After reading that earlier, my first thought was that the ‘poor results’ might have been quite messy.
