OldBogeyParticipantHoley Moley.
Half an hour was the limit of my tolerance.
I trust others enjoyed it, but not for me.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantVeterans’ golf at Mirboo North today. 4BBB
We came in with 36 points despite some rather crappy golf.
Course is in good condition and as tricky as usual.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantFar too trashy for real entertainment.
Only if I’m desperate for something to watch.Don’t you have a few more series to catch up on like Fawlty Towers and schitts Creek?
I saw all Faulty’s episodes years ago.
Haven’t watched Schitt Creek. Is it worth the effort?Have you watched Fawlty Towers though?
It’s much better than Faulty towers.Ok, Fawlty, not faulty like my brain.

There are only 80 episodes to show how you can go from the attic to the basement and back again, so probably not.
Francie must like the repetitive regimen.

OldBogeyParticipantHandicap pennant at Drouin against Trafalgar.
I won mine 2&1 and the team won 5/2.
The two new holes were in play, official opening tomorrow and the local club played them yesterday. Very open, links style, with one 3ft high gum tree and a bunker to separate them.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today.
Front nine wasn’t too bad with 17 points. But the back nine was crap, finishing the day on 26 points.
Too many 3-putts, shouldn’t have had any.Pennant tomorrow, with an early start. At least it’s close by.

OldBogeyParticipantWe had most of the WHS elements beforehand; slope, best 8 of 20, etc.
But Golf Australia (GA) like to exercise their muscle and toy with us.
We also had a 7% deduction in the calculated handicap. But, if my memory serves me correctly, that’s not part of WHS. So, GA added that back in as a local thing and apply it the playing handicap.
The adjustment for the difference between the scratch rating and par has also been a more recent change (part of WHS?).So, to get your playing handicap, one must ascertain your GA Index, (your ‘official’ or ‘published’ handicap,) then:
(GA × slope ÷ 113 + scratch – par) × 0.93You can understand why many just want to know the handicap number for today.
I appreciate the desire to have difficulty fairly evaluated between courses. But in the case of my local course usual men’s tees, the par is 71 but the scratch rating is 69. So the playing handicap is discounted by two strokes. Effectively, they are saying that two of the par 4 holes are only par 3s. Which two? All the calculations that go into rating a hole should result in a whole number. Either the hole is a par 4 or it’s a par 3. We aren’t scored for example 3.3 in playing a hole, we are scored on the number of strokes taken to hole out. Whether your last stroke was 10cm or 10m is not taken into account. So, why are the ratings done with decimal places?
Whinge over. At least it will make us more competitive for pennant.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today. No rain but the wind was cyclonic. Standing on the tee about to pull the trigger and a gust of wind blows you off balance. Balls were blown off greens or took a big curve and the next putt on the same line goes straight.
That all makes for a fun day provided you don’t take the scores too seriously. One wipe but only one par. 28 points.

OldBogeyParticipantGenerally, it is widely understood and accepted.
But there are plenty who just want to bo told what handicap they’re playing off today and couldn’t be bothered with the technicalities.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantThe usual stab at Warra yesterday. Due to drizzle, we rescheduled our start with a 5 hour delay. We still got a bit of fine drizzle though.
Another very slow start. Pulled my first tee shot left, it hit a tree and rebounded back and across the 9th green, missing the four who were putting out. Next shot back through the trees (at least that was the intention) but stopped by another strike. Finally got on the green for 5 and missed the putt.
Similar story on the 2nd. A large cypress tree on the left edge of the fairway grabbed my passing ball and threw it back behind the trunk amid exposed roots. My attempt to hit it over the roots and under the branches failed, the ball hit a root, up into the tree and fell down just a few metres away. Third to the bottom of the gully where a good drive would usually go and I again ran out of shots before holing out.
A little better on third hole, finally scoring a point. I was 5 points down after 3 holes and finished the front nine with 13 points.
Another 16 points on the back for a 29 point total. Perhaps I should have stayed home and dry.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantOldies’ 9 hole this morning.
I tried a few swing adjustments, because I was playing off 21 instead of my usual 16.
Started with three 1-points, then a 4 for 4 on the index 1 hole. Followed up with (in points) 1,3,0,3,2.
That’s about 16 points.I was trying to get more driver swing speed, with some success but a drop in accuracy.

OldBogeyParticipantPennant practice today, just 9 holes then a BBQ.
Playing against the team leader, I lost the first 2 holes, then won the 3rd with a bogey, followed by pars all the way home to win 2&1.

OldBogeyParticipant4BBBB Par at Warra yesterday.
When we partnered a few weeks ago, only 4 of the scores were his. This time, only 6 were mine, although I did match a couple of his.
How did we play? Just ok. A couple of wipes, not many pluses. End result +2.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.
