I played in the comp this morning. It took 4 hours, waiting for every hit. The group in front were slowwwwww!
I find it difficult to maintain concentration under these playing conditions.

    Two steps forward:
    1) I feel confident with my clubs now. New wedges arrived yesterday.
    2) pitching into the greens was good today. it is too soggy to land short and expect any bounce at all.

    One step back
    1) tee shots are hitting the fairways more often, but still lacking distance .

    Whats better for your scoring?

Hit more fairways but lack a little distance?

Or hit it further but miss fairways?

On a more serious note: The mess in VIC could just as well happened in any other state.

Possibly… but probably not. If it is going to happen, it will happen in NSW due to the Vics who have successfully got into the State whilst infected. Send a message… Fine em $11K, isolate them and make them pay for the hotel they are placed into and then ship them back where they have to undertake a further 2 weeks monitored isolation at their expense. Give an average of what that will cost an individual (in the vicinity of $20K+) and I bet they stay at home.

sure, cannot force international travellers to get tested……but lets try and charge people for hotel quarantine… good luck with that

On a more serious note: The mess in VIC could just as well happened in any other state. And it probably will happen again before October comes around. Let’s just keep fingers crossed we can all catch up and drink beer. (And play golf.)

Near on 3 months for any messes to happen and settle down…. Hmmm… Touch and go….

no touching in this case. #stopthespread

That’s the most frustrating thing about golf, one week it’s the Driver next week it’s irons then Putter. Getting it all to click every week is the hardest thing. But when it does, how good is golf. I think we love it because it’s hard.

Thats why I love it. Being hard. -_-

9 holes match play in poor weather. I am not sure if that qualifies for the step back section!

    Two steps forward
    1) I only had a 60/04 lob wedge in my bag today. I hit it well.
    2) I only lost by one hole. Score 46.

    One step back
    1) pulled shots on hole 1 and 2 cost me 2 extra shots, then I pushed a tee shot on hole 4.

did you get much of a warm up before teeing off? Ie pulled shots

No I didn’t. It is a bit difficult to warm up prior to the game when the club asks you to arrive 10 minutes prior to tee off time and there is a limit of 2 on the practice area.

I think the pull shot is me trying to hit the ball too hard. It is getting less frequent. I just need to spend some time on tempo for my tee shots. Tee shots are not a great part f my game at present.

    Understand that

I’d suggest having some pre round warm up that you can do when limited time. Work on the rhythm of swing and Slow the swing down. It’s easy to be too quick and pull as lower body isn’t in sync.

    Just my two cents

Started ok off 10 at Carbrook off the 10th with a birdie
    18 on.the back
    12 on the front
Putted poorly, not many 3 putts but apart from the Texas I dropped on 10 I didn’t make many good ones
Chipping was a mixed bag but not many up and downs

Drove mostly well apart from 2 tops, one wet, which cost me 3 shots
    Very few GIRs
    Disappointing overall

    how was course condition?

    to play more?

The use of the word “more” is a touch superfluous there.
    My goal is to play.

I’ve already organised that I will play with Placegetter, date and venue TBA, but we’ve said we will and that we’ll do a range session before that too.

im planning a Saturday round for a couple groups next month sometime

    You both in?
