Have to think about what I need to spend it on????

Lessons before and during the Summer Cup 2021 so you can win the farker.. Hopefully they will take it up to $750 and you can still maintain your amateur status.šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘Œ.

I should clarify… by lessons I mean honing lessons to get you on song. Or maybe learn to play from the other side of the ball. 🤣

Too old for that…..a few years ago it was around $700 for the winner. It ususally depends on how many players we get to the 4 rounds as all the money goes to the pro shop…..the more players …the bigger the pool.

Monday’s 38 points saw a drop in the handicap from 9.4 (for one week) to 8.9

Next game is our first round for the syllabus year off the back plates. It’s going to be tough to qualify for the scratch matchplay.

So finished 17th overall and won $150 Ć· my $20 for the day so $170 on top of my $131.00 already on my tab at the pro shop. Have to think about what I need to spend it on????

Geezuzz…. $150 for coming 17th!!!!! WTF did the winner get?

    $635.00

It’s well worth playing …….if you can put 3 reasonable scores together. I’ve been runner up a few times……..naturally.šŸ˜‰

Final round (4th) round of the Summer Cup at Southern today. Shot gun start today due to the weather forecast and hit off at 7.00am. I managed to start on almost the furthest hole from the clubhouse…..16th….. Playing off 10

    Front 9 – 19 points (41 OTS)
    Back 9 – 19 points ( 39 OTS)

    2 birdies
    9 pars or better
    1 sand save
Not many putts but unfortunately 3 putted twice.

Lost second place to a countback but finished 3rd and won $20 for the pro shop.

My best 3 scores over the 4 rounds….

31, 31 and 38 for 100 total. 117 won it by a guy off scratch….or close to it where he had 2 x 41 points after 2 rounds of 69 OTS.

So finished 17th overall and won $150 + my $20 for the day so $170 on top of my $131.00 already on my tab at the pro shop. Have to think about what I need to spend it on????

    After yesterday’s crap…..moved out to 9.4

Commish do you mind updating for me as I can’t work out how to do it on the tablet.

It can be tedious without a mouse. If you ‘touch and hold’ on a word, it should highlight the word and add pointers to the start and end of the word. You can then ‘touch & drag’ each pointer to the wanted start and end points of the area of text that you want to copy, highlighting it. A small panel pops up offering such options as COPY, PASTE, etc. Tap on COPY.
Then goto where you want to paste, touch & hold, and a pop up panel offers PASTE. Tap that and it will.
Then you can edit the bit that you want to change.

Wow, that sounds complicated, but it is easy to do.

    Sorry…I dropped off after…”it can be tedious……”

3rd round of the Summer Cup yesterday at Southern. When I went into the pro shop they told us our hit off time was pushed back an hour and we had a shotgun start. Apparently we were joined by trainee pros who took up the rest of the course. Needless to say it was a long day….and slooowwww.
One bonus was I had the chance to sit down for 3 beers and chat to some old mates, that I invited along, that I haven’t seen in nearly 50 years. Thanks to FB. We played in a three which probably meant it was slower than it could have been.

Anyway couldn’t do a thing right all day and didn’t get one 3 pointer.
14 and 7 got me 21 points BUT NOT the NAGA. At the end the day it was about catching up with old mates and renewing friendships. Clearly that will be the gane I drop for best 3 scores But who knows……next week has to be better.

My theory of what should be in a beginners bag is slightly different,

Here’s three things I’d suggest, which would hold them in good stead going forward.

    1. An understanding of ball flght laws …. it makes it easier to diagnose issues such as swingpath/clubface .

    2. A basic understanding of golf clubs eg what to look for re forgiveness or workability in clubs, and shaft flex

    3. An idea of where they want their golf to progress to.
eg If they are only ever going to be once a month social golfers their clubs don’t need to be the best around. If they plan on joining a club, getting a handicap, working their butt off to get to single figures, then the clubs they should get would be more advanced to allow them to grow into them.

Second round of the summer cup yesterday at Southern. Stableford playing off 10 and from the white tees. Back 9 first….

    16 points
    &
    15 points

For another 31 points and a fair way off the leaders. Need 2 high 30’s over the next two weeks to figure in a decent prize.
One bonus from last week……second prize in the raffle….nice bottle of Margaret River Shiraz. šŸ˜‰

First round (of 4) of the Summer Cup yesterday at Southern. Best 3 of the 4 rounds qualifies your score and it’s stableford off the white tees. Even though I’m on night shift this week I decided to make the effort to go….with a few hours sleep. Playing off 10 for the day and starting on the back nine in drizzle rain for most of the day.

Back 9 – 13 points after wiping our first hole
Second 9 – 18 points with one wipe

Some good and some pretty average stuff but 31 points was ok. Most of our 4 had a similar score but I didn’t wait around to see what the best was. 3 more scores in the 30’s will get some money to spend in the pro shop for my birthday present.

EDIT – Leading scores were 41 & 40. I’ll need a few higher mid to high 30 games over the next 3 weeks to figure in the good prizes
