The problem seems to be that Golf Australia get confused about what can and cannot happen as per the advising of respective State Health Ministers, they then pass on that confused information to us plebs. NSW closed for less than 24 hours once it was realised that NSW Health HAD NOT suggested that courses close down. Mind you it was only a recommendation from GA, not a directive that they do so, but the way it was worded seemed to be pretty specific that clubs close. As of today we are back in play (if the board at the course declares so) with no more than 2 in a group (doesn’t matter who they are), no more than one in a cart, pins to remain in the hole, rakes out of bunkers with sand to be smoothed out as best as possible with foot or club. Relief (placing of ball) available for balls that are in unrepaired portion of the bunker and of course that all players remain a minimum of 1.5 metres apart during the round. Oh and you score your own card with a verbal agreement between player and marker on the score achieved for the hole.

Im surprised our Public Announcements arent more focused on the ways we catch it ie what we touch and how that gets spread so easily such as examples in the video.

Agree. I can’t speak for the other States, but in NSW it may help some of these idiots (won’t mention the specific age groups) that believe the self isolation and social distancing doesn’t apply to them because, “It won’t affect us as badly cause we are younger.” Or have the “I live on the beaches, it interferes with my lifestyle” syndrome.
What’s the situation in Qld? As o see it I’m still able to and very safe to drive to a golf range and practice for an hour or two not getting within many feet of someone else. I’m allowed to go and get exercise by myself everyday am I not?
Not sure Toph, but I think because it is a venue, the no more than 2 people scenario applies.
If this event goes ahead and you were contemplating the Tuesday game at Terrey Hills, let me tell you it is a must play venue.
Had a round there yesterday arvo, have played it a few times before, last game was just over 4 years ago.
It is a magnificent layout..I haven’t played Bonville in many years but the feel/style is sort of similar, maybe a Robina Woods feel as well, pretty much every hole is isolated, very few that you can spray to another fairway.
Fairways were lush, greens very soft so stopping the ball is quite easy and they are lightning fast.
Do yourself a favour and sign up for this game, a great way to finish the Nationals after the Monday game at Elanora.
That will be interesting… booking is for 16 and we already have 18 listed as playing on the day AND I would think that those 18 will be at the Nats if if goes ahead. But I am sure Mads will negotiate an increase if required.
You are right tho Barenski, Terrey Hills is a cracking course which brings the long hitters who may be a tad wayward back to the field.
Bloody oath, I’m no long hitter but left the driver in the bag on some holes, 3 wood was working just nicely.
Yeah right… your 3W is still 15M in front of my best drive.. 🙁

I will put up a review in the National thread.As for my game…playing stroke off the blue tees…one quintuple bogey (4 putts), one quadruple bogey (3 putts), 2 triple bogeys, one double, 9 bogeys and 4 pars….40 putts…garbage really. 31 points if we were stablefording.
Was that with a handicap of 20???

Not bad then. There are some tight lines into the greens there and if they are as quick if not quicker than when I last played there, it is a reasonable score for your first time in 4 yrs. Some of those greens are nigh impossible to read the break over the last metre or so.
