I’m sure he has found something else that allows him to swing his stick for a while.

    Except this.

Apologies… As for the other bits, it used to be a bit of an ISG sport to try and create a bit of popcorn theatre.. I guess cv-19 is not the topic for that. My bad. This sitting in the house all friggin day is doin me in.

    Popcorn theatre is awesome.

Providing Mouldy’s pernorkle is not involved in any of it.

    Just my thoughts…well…probably everyone’s, really…. 🙂

The popcorn theatre responses were all factual though. They are my thoughts, but I expected the responses to become a tad more enthusiastic, which then would have allowed for a bit more banter.

Sadly, I did however overstep the mark with putting my wife’s medicals out there. Once again, factual and tried to delete that part, but it seems you only have a limited time window for that and it closed on me.

You’re right also with Mouldy and his pernorkle as you call it.. Can’t help but have visualisations and they keep involving a bloody parrot.

I truly do wish the entire L4G family a virus free future and apologise to any that I may have caused concern too with my own thoughts. I do understand that not all may agree and the popcorn will go back into the pantry for a more opportune time.

Lot’s of old Men and Ladies in my club who have lost partners and Golf is all they have.

    Boom!

Exactly right…Madam and I were only discussing this very subject this morning.

But people should Still not be driving about unnecessarily

My home club is 25 minutes away. I get there and back in a car that only I drive and I am in that car on my own the entire time.
My nearest Coles/Woolies/Chemist/Doctor is 2 mins away. I know which one presents the better chance of me interacting with someone that is unknowingly infected. Like most things in life, a common sense approach to the majority of things will normally get you through. I would assume that most on here would be reticent about placing themselves in a position whereby they may intentionally affect their families health. Assess what it is you are about to do, determine the causal factors of doing that which you intend and then make an informed decision on whether it is feasible and prudent to undertake that venture. I understand that the call to stay at home if you have no reason to go out and I believe most do that. But to suggest (as I believe Cranky has) that having a round of golf in a huuuge open air venue with one other person and maintaining MORE than the prescribed safe distance, plus taking other harm minimisation measures is irresponsible is drawing a rather long bow.

Narooma is pebble beach of Oz…

Visually for sure, condition wise, well…… But at least every man and his dog can afford to play it. PLUS, they have a very good sports bar, bistro, TAB set up and a great Deck.

Driving to the golf club might mean a trip to a supermarket or chemist on the way home, hence further spread or risk of infection.

Which is the greater risk?? The drive to the course on your own in your own car? The round of golf where you are virtually isolated in fresh air? Or the trip to the Chemist, Supermarket, Workplace, Petrol Station which you will do more often?

My perspective may be slightly askew in your eyes, but I don’t believe so. If I believed that attending a golf course to play with my son was more of a risk to myself and my family than visiting a supermarket for 15 minutes that would put me in closer proximity to 20x’s more people, then I would not play golf. As it is, I do not think that is the case, so I shall continue to play while I can.

The whole point of this is that the power for individuals to make their own risk assessment is being diminished, rightly or wrongly, because people kept doing dumb stuff.
People are supposed to stay home.

Cranky. I get where you are coming from and can assure you I am not one of those people that do the dumb stuff like some of our beach loving brethren in NSW and no care backpackers. At present, for the passed 4 weeks and into the foreseeable future, I leave the house to shop 2 days a week. Once for my family shop, the other for my mother who is incapable of doing it herself. Other than that to take my wife to a number of medical appointments with her Surgeon, Oncologist and respective scans and treatments. I then have 1 day whereby I get out in the fresh air with one other person for about 3 1/2 hrs a week. If you wish to stay at home fine. Do it. I NEED to get out for my round of golf for my own safety. My missus would cause me severe physical harm if I did not give her that one piece of time away from her.

Even if you obey ALL the restrictions and advisings, you stand more chance of becoming infected by going to the Doctors, supermarket, chemist, petrol station, WORK!!! than you do of playing golf in a group of two touching nothing but your own gear, which you have cleaned with alcohol wipes pre and post round…
