Played a few round recently, tried using my old mans old driver. It has a shorter shaft (despite him being 6ft6 thought would be longer than mine), and feels like it has a bit more weight in the head. I seem to be squaring the face up quicker with it and finding a lot more fair ways. Still have the odd one where I get a bit loose and the hands open right up goes flying right, but probably finding 2/3 fairways the last 2 rounds with it, as opposed to basically none.
Yesterdays round started horrifically, couldn’t find a fairway to start and the irons were cutting a fair bit. Started with 55 on the front, couldn’t get much worse and then had a 44 on the back. Difference was finding more fairways, the long irons were still off but at least they were up there and i could chip on and 2 putt for a bogey. Was like 2 different golfers.
Got the first handicap and I got to say I am a little confused. It’s 16.1 when my best round I put in was a 97. So i expect I’ll blow that right out and will be a little bit until I have a hc I can play too.
Not sure if this is exactly right Special, but I think for the purpose of handicap they only allow for double bogey on any given hole, so even though you may have had a 97 as your best, take off any triples and above and you may have only had a 90. Same goes for the other h’cap cards. Have you been given your handicap off 3 cards or 5? If three, then yeah it will go out a bit.
Nice course Howlong (aside from the odd locust plague which we copped several years ago) ……… although I do hear they relaxed their standards a few years ago, and allowed the odd degenerate a membership.

Not sure about other states, but pretty sure anyone coming into NSW on an international flight has to go into mandatory hotel quarantine for 2 weeks where they are tested upon entry and again prior to be released. You refuse the testing… you stay for another 10 days AT YOUR EXPENSE. Maybe Vic should have adopted something similar.
They did (the 10 extra day thing).
Legally, cannot charge for incarceration.Yeah got that part wrong.. It was what the NSW Health Minister wanted to do under the Public Health Orders but couldn’t. Never mind, the majority in all States are doing the right thing, but you will always get those that for whatever reason don’t want to fall into line with the rest of community expectation. So a very small minority have now screwed over their entire State.

On a more serious note: The mess in VIC could just as well happened in any other state.
Possibly… but probably not. If it is going to happen, it will happen in NSW due to the Vics who have successfully got into the State whilst infected. Send a message… Fine em $11K, isolate them and make them pay for the hotel they are placed into and then ship them back where they have to undertake a further 2 weeks monitored isolation at their expense. Give an average of what that will cost an individual (in the vicinity of $20K+) and I bet they stay at home.

Far out, cant believe no one want Vic. Miss out catching up for golf or drinks this year. Why cant people do the right things respect the social distance, commonsense and get test.
The vast majority do Della, just that some care more about how it will affect them directly rather than the community as a whole. Plenty of time between now and the Nats for things to be rectified. Hopefully your Premier has realised that Softly, Softly, Catchy Monkey does not work with this virus. He is doing now what should have been done 2 weeks ago when it was first identified that people were leaving lockdown early without being tested. Or so I am led to believe.
Mud is the overarching theme at the moment….

Xrman 17.5 /18.0 / 16.0Well the first part of the equation has come and gone. A miserable fail for me even with a closing 35 and 38 pts. From 14.6 to a blow out 17.6. So much for going south. Have reset my goal to something that I feel is actually achievable given my current golfing standard. At least it can be amended on the fly if things improve.
Feel free to make any alteration you desire, keep the faith with what you have, or opt out all together….. your choice.
