Can break 80Participantrecommend the save 4 shots in 4 weeks program
this deals with putting, chipping, pitching and bunkers.
and if you save 1 shot in each area of game this makes a big improvement, without changing swing-

Can break 80Participantrecommend the save 4 shots in 4 weeks program
this will give your short game some on going structure, certainly helped me, I had lost touch and was having 88 to 90 every round.
Undertook this program no back closer to low 80’s.
still room to get my hcap back to where it was.1 user liked this post.
Can break 80Participant38 points yesterday at home of golf. recently undertook a training program to improve 4 shots in 4 weeks.
So far the putting is better, chipping consistent if I use less loft, and pitching now getting on greens from 70m by using pitching wedge instead of thrashing a 56 deg, and now able to getting out of bunkers first time.
good game tune up for next weeks vet game at Korumburra
Can break 80ParticipantStroke last Saturday, nett 76.
Stroke today. Nett 81.
Some nice sunny breaks, interspersed with rain and tiny hail. Putts wouldn’t drop. Heaps of lip-outs, three 3-putts, total 38.Why do I bother?
Surely you hit that one shots that made you think that you can do it.? The “come back” shot. The one that lures you back for another humiliation session.
I’m still playing golf, but not bothering to record them here. You’re the only person reading them.
My last two rounds (yesterday and the day before) were both 31 points. Consistent crap, nothing of note.i like to see how your game is going OB
Can break 80ParticipantI heard an expression, ” Those who cannot do; teach”. Maybe it applies to my caddie experience with Adriano last weekend. I gave him a 5 point plan to follow, which is just course management 101 really. He started using the Driver for 5 holes, then put it away to use his 22 Hybrid off the tee instead. Things took an upturn and he ended up with 37 points to come second on the day. I basked in his reflected glory, but maybe seeing he did it again next day without my help, I should say briefly basked instead.
I drove myself to the course yesterday and played 9 holes, from 40 m out that is. I chipped on from the areas I usually come up short. Just for practice I used my LW only and putted trying to get down in 3. Mostly it worked, but I did hit a horrible thin shot on hole 4 and lost the ball. I think the ball was a tad too far forward in my stance.
did you putt with LW,? try it its really good practice and you can really roll ball very well.
Can break 80ParticipantAfter the SG vets game at the home of golf on Monday in fine weather, its been wet weather time table for the rest of the week.
I played well and had 34 points with NO outs, so thats a good thing. 1×3 putt cause i hit shot to back of green instead of short.
The greens were not back to normal langy speed, but getting there.
was planning on practice and paly at ranch and pitch and putt with grandkids but next week doesn’t look any better. and its even too rough to take the boat out and get into the snapper.hope the global warming kicks in soon as its pretty it cold here by the beach, while we wait for house to be finished.

Can break 80ParticipantPlayed in the DOING IT FOR JARROD day at Leongatha GC on Thursday.in nice bright sunshine and 21 deg.
Format was Gentsomes(a variation of Canadian foursomes). off yellow tees. best 2 stableford scores on each hole count.
play is all hit off then select best ball. (4 tee shots per player minimum) all continue hole from there and score as stableford .
Leongatha is rapidly becoming the best course in South Gippsland and it was fun to play in this charity event with 3 friends.
Not sure what we( team )ended up with as the super computer used a strange algorithm to work out winners.
Overall a fantastic days golf for a good cause and a dry course.
highlight was 2 birdies in a row 3rd and 4th holes from myself with holed long putts
Fishing tonight with son in law then practice at the ranch tomorrow in preparation for Vets game at Lang Lang on Monday (pending the rain stopping for at least 1 day)
Can break 80ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
They took the 18th hole out of play and put in the recently constructed ‘short game practice area’ labelled as the 19th hole. Order of play was holes 1 – 8 then 19. Second 9 was holes 9 – 17.
Points: I had 15 & 16 for a 31 total.
Putting was the problem. It seemed like every putt shaved the hole. Front nine had 2 3-putts and on hole 19 a 4-putt, also a chip-in and a couple of 1-putts for an 18 total. Second nine was 2 putts on every hole for another 18 total.
The 19th is ostensibly a 90m par 3. The green is large with extensive bunkers on each side. Laser revealed it was only 65m from tee to the pin but a steep slope up. I was on in 1, pin high, but a long way to go. The green looked ok but is only new and turned out to be rough as guts. Not wanting to go past the pin and into the bunker behind, my first putt was cautious and well short. Second putt hopped and skipped its was to the hole, had a look in and stopped a few feet past. Third putt went straight to the hole then jumped sideways. In with 4 putts. Stories from others suggested there were many 3 putts. The 19th hole will be most likely be used as shoot out hole for the super 6 tournament in December.
Can break 80ParticipantI think we will head back to the country on Wednesday. I reckon I can sit for an hour or so on my cushion now, then stop every hour to stretch out; repeat. I can’t drive for 6 weeks it seems, but I am walking a kilometer three times daily now. I still look a bit like Poirot in my gait, but I think I can walk the course and chip and putt for a month or so. I have a ball retriever sorted so I can avoid bending my hip/ body past 90 degrees.
I’m due for one next year. Can’t drive for 6 weeks!!! That’s the only way I can get food.
I am at almost 3 weeks post- op and walking well enough to get to the stores. Up until now, I was only walking say 100 m then a rest and repeat. Last night I walked about a kilometre without resting. I no longer need pain killers.
OB you will need to stock up your food supply prior for the first two weeks post operative time, then do some online ordering. Do you have a friend who could collect the groceries? Some stores deliver to your door.
I hope to get out to the golf course today to check my batteries on the golf cart and maybe do some putting.
Hi XRman
good to hear you are recovering and hope you will be back on course very soon.
Can break 80ParticipantVictorian veterans championships at Barwon Valley. stroke round.
Monday weather wise was best day 17 and warm. Tuesday cold and cloudy – scores were. 88, 90. (will the global warming ever start so we can thaw out)day 1 had 5 DB = 5 x 3 putts + 5 x 1 putts + 2 lost vision balls in water areas (new prototypes)
day 2 had 3 DB = 3 x3 putts +2×1 putts + 1 lost vision ball in water. (new prototype)Too many DB by playing too aggressively with first putts giving me no chance of getting the return putt.
very disappointed as I practiced hard for this event, but struggled to break 90, even though my process was good and apart from 3 bad swings (vision balls in water) rest was OK. chipping was good.
My game is now very consistent almost in a rut, lucky not going to be the National NAGA.my 9 rounds this year have been 90 88 89 90 83 90 90 91 91. (very very consistent)
4 days R&R and fishing at Lorne then
Back to island for Vets game at Phillip Island on Monday.
Then off to see the super coach to try and get me back to being a good player. and breaking 80 again
Can break 80ParticipantStab at Warra yesterday, lovely golf weather although a little chilly as clouds rolled over.
Teed off at 11:00 and the course was virtually deserted for our 2nd nine.
Only one 3-putt for the day, finishing with 32 putts. Missed a few easy ones that I shouldn’t have. Not enough 1-putts.
29 points with only one 3-point and a few messed up holes.I’m not a great football fan although I like to hear that Geelong has won. When I got home, I watched the 2nd half. That was no contest. Some of the preliminary finals were far more entertaining.
Agree with you it was a NON grand final.
aren’t you glad you didn’t cancel your golf game to watch the non Game..
I went fishing instead.
Back on practice range this morning for tune up for tournament next week at Barwon Valley

Any update on your new job?
Can break 80ParticipantPlayed on course games yesterday, not really concerned about scoring at this stage although playing with a aim, just focus on re defining my process (club selection, pre shot routine and course strategy, and making a new game plan).
today on front 9 I hit 3 clubs off tee to determine best option for each hole.
Played a par 5 hole with just using an 8 iron. made an very easy 6 (almost a 5) Really good fun and opens mind to playing a variety of shots and teaches multitude of way to play the hole, instead of just grabbing driver and hitting down fairway, missing green in trouble and struggling to make a 6.
on a par 3 hole hit club for front middle and back distances.
today is a nice day with some sun, just got fishing report from mate, water is still cloudy and lots of weed, needs another day or 2 to settle down, nothing happening as yet so off to golf for day to play a fun day using the different club game again. -
