OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra yesterday.
They took the 18th hole out of play and put in the recently constructed ‘short game practice area’ labelled as the 19th hole. Order of play was holes 1 – 8 then 19. Second 9 was holes 9 – 17.
Points: I had 15 & 16 for a 31 total.
Putting was the problem. It seemed like every putt shaved the hole. Front nine had 2 3-putts and on hole 19 a 4-putt, also a chip-in and a couple of 1-putts for an 18 total. Second nine was 2 putts on every hole for another 18 total.
The 19th is ostensibly a 90m par 3. The green is large with extensive bunkers on each side. Laser revealed it was only 65m from tee to the pin but a steep slope up. I was on in 1, pin high, but a long way to go. The green looked ok but is only new and turned out to be rough as guts. Not wanting to go past the pin and into the bunker behind, my first putt was cautious and well short. Second putt hopped and skipped its was to the hole, had a look in and stopped a few feet past. Third putt went straight to the hole then jumped sideways. In with 4 putts. Stories from others suggested there were many 3 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

Putts continued to peek into the hole in lieu of jumping in. Two 1-putts and a 3-putt out, for 17. A single 1-putt on the way back in for another 17.
17 points out, just 12 back in for a 29 point total. Three wipes, one 4-point, one 3-point.Crippled at the hip by the time I’d finished which possibly explains the poor back nine score. Rest day today.
Why does nobody else report how they’re playing? Perfect golf weather. We’re not all flooded or washed out.

Can break 80ParticipantPlayed in the DOING IT FOR JARROD day at Leongatha GC on Thursday.in nice bright sunshine and 21 deg.
Format was Gentsomes(a variation of Canadian foursomes). off yellow tees. best 2 stableford scores on each hole count.
play is all hit off then select best ball. (4 tee shots per player minimum) all continue hole from there and score as stableford .
Leongatha is rapidly becoming the best course in South Gippsland and it was fun to play in this charity event with 3 friends.
Not sure what we( team )ended up with as the super computer used a strange algorithm to work out winners.
Overall a fantastic days golf for a good cause and a dry course.
highlight was 2 birdies in a row 3rd and 4th holes from myself with holed long putts
Fishing tonight with son in law then practice at the ranch tomorrow in preparation for Vets game at Lang Lang on Monday (pending the rain stopping for at least 1 day)October 23, 2022 at 7:19 am #18815

No, the 18th will be used again. A new tee has been built half way down the hill and a grandstand will be constructed behind the the green, same as last year.

OldBogeyParticipantVets at Warra today. Usual stableford.
Somehow, we missed all the predicted rain but the wind was quite strong. But the predictions scared players away. 84 were booked in, 69 played.
I had 30 points, 30 putts. Just enough to get a ball.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantMy hip wasn’t much of a problem playing the Vets on Monday. Perhaps having 3 days off from golf was good for me.
So I followed it up Tuesday with the usual stab at Warra and had little hip pain.Started poorly with a couple of 3-putts. After 3 holes I had amassed 8 putts and just 2 points. Not good when I’m trying to have points exceed putts. Other than a miserable failure on the 6th where I guessed 2 putts (ran out of shots just getting the ball to stop on the green), the rest of the front nIne was ‘normal’. Total 16 putts, 15 points. That’s almost a recovery.
Back nine better with a couple of 3-points and a 4-point and a heap of 1-putts. Total 13 putts, 21 points. That’s 29 putts and 36 points all up. The number of putts is just for me with my little points vs putts comp. But the 36 points won me some money for a change (2nd in C grade).
For all of you battling the weather, we again had no rain at all, none of the previous day’s wind and around 20°.

Can break 80ParticipantAfter the SG vets game at the home of golf on Monday in fine weather, its been wet weather time table for the rest of the week.
I played well and had 34 points with NO outs, so thats a good thing. 1×3 putt cause i hit shot to back of green instead of short.
The greens were not back to normal langy speed, but getting there.
was planning on practice and paly at ranch and pitch and putt with grandkids but next week doesn’t look any better. and its even too rough to take the boat out and get into the snapper.hope the global warming kicks in soon as its pretty it cold here by the beach, while we wait for house to be finished.

OldBogeyParticipantAfter nearly two weeks of regular rain which kept me off the course, it was all systems ‘GO’ yesterday. Temp in low 20s, no wind, dry course.
Round 1 of clubbies and MM, stroke. No blowout holes but I did have a few 7s, one of which wasn’t a par5, and one 3-putt. But nothing better than a bogey all day. Total was nett 79. 34 putts didn’t help.Forecast suggests it might be raining next Saturday, so I might not bother with round 2.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra yesterday in high 20s temp. It’s been so long since I played in a bit of heat, it felt hotter.
How’d I play? Two 3-points, two 3-putts, one wipe, heaps of 1-points. Total 28 points with 34 putts.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra yesterday. 30°, gentle breeze, a bit sticky.
Just more of the same for me. A couple of 3-points, one wipe, one 3-putt.
31 points, 35 putts. If I’d kept my putts down to 30, I’d have had 36 points.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantStroke last Saturday, nett 76.
Stroke today. Nett 81.
Some nice sunny breaks, interspersed with rain and tiny hail. Putts wouldn’t drop. Heaps of lip-outs, three 3-putts, total 38.Why do I bother?
