MM stroke & putting yesterday at Beacy.
    A couple of 3-putts didn’t help, too few 1-putts, 35 total.
    Stroke score nett 76.
It was as also round 1 of clubbies. I’m not inclined to do the next two rounds – too far off the pace.

You must be a good chipper and putter to have so few putts per round OB. I would be very happy with 29 putts (= 7 one putt results per round)

All too often I fail to get on the green so I need to chip it close with the next, then a 1-putt is needed.

Well done OB 29 putts is pro golfer standard, (Phil Mickelson has average of 29.15)

Oldies’ nine hole stab at Warra this morning.
Started with a 3-putt (all too often), but otherwise played consistently with nothing outstanding.
    A few 1-putts, the odd 1-point. Accumulated 19 points.

Just the usual stab at Warra today.
    Absolutely fabulous golf weather.
Two wipes on the front nine (just careless) had me on 14 points at the turn. 16 on the back for a 30 point total.
Three 3-putts didn’t help and it felt like I missed plenty of putts by the tiniest margin. But a 31 putt total meant I must have 1-putted nearly half the holes.
Too many drives were far from straight.

First syllabus round at Southern yesterday. MM stroke round and counting putts off the back markers. Shotgun start on the hardest rated hole on the course…..14th. Par with a good up and down with one putt.
    Front 9 – 45
    Back 9 – 43

88 less 12 hcp gave me 76. Winner was nett 70.

Golf on a nice day with mate at Cowes. Haven’t played there since pennant final in may last year .
tough course as Kikuyu grass just grabs ball making running chips more difficult, really all over place at sorts day 90 OTS = 28 points.
OTS match play we finished square, after being 2 down with 2 to play and finishing par par . Some good golf and some poor golf by our standards, but it was a good sparing session for him as he prepares for upcoming pennant season at his new club
    1 TB 4 DB 7 bogeys 7 pars
    3×3 putts,
    6 GIR
    lost 2 vision balls

summary : Should have gone fishing with son in law, as he caught 4 nice flatties in a new spot and now is 7 fish in front of me in the family trophy(even granddaughter has caught more fish than papa so have some catch up to do.)

Next 2 weeks: fish on good days and golf on not good fishing days, baby sit and play with grand children other days
before we leave for QLD for 10 weeks. while house builds

I played with an old mate of yours from Lang Lang who now calls Gardiners Run home CB. He is quite the handy golfer, and he put up with all the NAGA stuff form me without too much complaining 🙂 He had 35 points off 6 after I found myself too much wipes for 26 points. Good times.

    Stab at Warra again today.
Front nine 14 putts helped me accrue 19 points even with one wipe.
On the back nine, two 3-putts meant another 16 putts for a 30 total and 17 points for a 36 point total.
That’s better than I’ve managed for some time.

Stab at Warra today in very blustery wind.
In the clubhouse, complaints were plentiful about the wind blowing balls off the greens.
I only had one wipe and one 3-putt.
But only three 3-point holes and only three 1-putts.

All that adds up to 34 points and with 34 putts.

Oldies’ nine hole at Warra yesterday. 19 points

Yellow tee stab at Warra today: playing h’cap of 6 in lieu of 18.
So much easier to get a green in reg !!
    Front nine: 1 bogey, 2 birdies, 6 pars: that’s 1 under par and 22 points with 16 putts (three 3-putts and a chip-in).
Back nine: only 3 pars, bogeys on the other 6 holes, only two 1-putts = 16 putts, 15 points.
    Daily total 37 points.

Interesting exercise. If I could hit my drives 100m longer, I could readily play to 6.

not a matter of hitting it 100m further .
On contrary, what you have done is exactly how handicap golfers should approach the game and its what the international handicap system allows you to do.
    .
ie find the best tee for your playing ability.
in other words play of the yellow tees every week until you can break 80, then move back to red, until break 80, then move back to white , then the blues.
