InkParticipantyeah – but can you save 5 shots per round?
June 14, 2021 at 3:24 pm #16976
OldBogeyParticipantMy handicap was 19 because the previous anchor was 14.0
An anchor of 20.2 means that will be taken into account after my next handicap calc.
My anchor should now be 16 (from 11/6/2020), but that won’t be used in my handicap for another couple of rounds. That should’ve said an anchor of 15.2 allowing a hard cap of 20.2
Can I save 5 strokes per round? For tomorrow? I wish.
Today I had 32 points with 33 putts. That was three 1-putts. Only one 3-point but five 1-points.
I just kept shaving holes, like a good nurse but a poor golfer.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

great consistency
.
So just play bogey golf.June 15, 2021 at 4:24 pm #16988

OldBogeyParticipantLovely golfing weather today in my neck of the woods, although a little foggy to start.
My golf was rather crappy though. Two pars, one wipe, but heaps of 1-pointers.
Only 27 points, 33 putts which included three 3-putts.
The greens were soft and somewhat lumpy, but I could’ve done better.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

xrmanParticipantI froze at Portland today! No wind thank goodness. I should have worn another layer that’s all.
I managed to break 90, by one stroke! Putting and chipping fine, inside 100 m fine, fairway shots erratic and tee shots went astray. If one end of my game comes good , the other compensates.

A bit of simple arithmetic should result in an answer of 6.

But you shouldn’t go out for a few as lucky you have a gap of 6 rounds to bring it down again, as your 8 best played to scores are very consistent.
Just keep playing consistently and just try to bogey every hole.

Did you notice that my new anchor is 16.4 which will come into effect on my next ‘cap calc ?
That will be the limit for some months. If I max out on that my golf is definitely rooted. But it’s far more reasonable than the 13.9 I’ve had to tolerate since early last year until just a few weeks ago.I do actually go for par on every hole, until that’s no longer an option, then bogey for 2 points, then a last ditch effort to at least get one point on the hole. It’s not unusual to slam a long putt home for that last point.
Stroke is a different kettle of fish. Then it’s all a question of minimising the damage when things have gone wrong.

Noticed that you are on a hat trick for 3 x 99’s in a row. ie 3×27 point rounds.
That is amazingly consistent scoring. I dont know if its been done in the history of ISG / L4G.come on you can do it its not as difficult as you think. lots of ways to have 99 ie 49 & 50
or 27 points 18 &9 / 12 & 15 /17 &10good luck at achieving the 99 /27 milestone tomorrow or Saturday.
