Hack2489ParticipantThe games showed me how I need to better prepare for events, hitting a medium bucket of balls on range on Friday afternoon, gave me the result I got.
How do you usually prepare?
By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

OldBogeyParticipantOld farts’ nine hole stab this morning.
The oldies do bodgey handicapping. If you 17 points or less, your ‘cap goes out a stroke. If you do better than 18, or win the day even if less than 18, you lose as many strokes as you had over 18, minimum 1 off.
So, due to my repeated incompetence, my ‘cap had crept out to 23. On the back nine, that’s 3 holes with two strokes.
Armed with that, I started with a 4 for 4 on the 10th (index 5) and had three 3-pointers with nothing else less than 2 points. That’s a 23 point total. I may win the day with that but, in any case, I’ll lose 5 strokes of my ‘cap for next time.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

WeetbixParticipantSLGC. Stab. Perfect day for Golf. playing off 18
Started well, 21 points after 8 holes.
From there on it was a train wreck, played the next 10 holes for 13 points.
Total of 34, new flag, should be happy but after a hot start, left feeling a bit Flat.
A highlight from the day was a Birdie of the par 5 third hole.
Good drive to the middle of the fairway, not overly long.
Second shot pulled left to be just off the fairway and 114m out.
Third shot bladed my 9 iron, looked like it was going off the green but pulled up 4 feet from the pin
Made the putt
That’s Golf !Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story …
A highlight from the day was Birdie on the long par 5 third hole.
Smoked drive up the middle.
Took trouble out of play and placed my second shot 114m out
9 iron, third shot, to 4 feet.
Drained the puttI don’t think you sold it as well as you could have

Solid drive up the middle.
Took trouble out of play and placed my second shot 114m out
Third shot played a Tiger like low spinning 9 iron, hop and stop to 4 feet.

OldBogeyParticipantOldies’ nine hole stab at Warra this morning.
One 3-point to counter one 1-point. But unfortunately I made an absolute mess of two holes to wipe them both.
14 points. Will get me an extra shot for next time.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

FrancieKeymasterHad a hit yesterday at GPJ’s old home (Beacon Hills) with Marian. Played the back nine of the hills first and then the Lakes nine.
A little rusty initially and had 43 on the front and 39 on the back. A couple of birdies but a number of double bogies. Chipping was pretty average as I left a lot short but it was just a practice round so no damage.
It’s been a few years since I was last there but the hilly walk is getting tougher for this COVID FAT CARRIER so it may be a few more years before I go back?

Only 3 pars, one wipe, 33 points.
Caught up with CB80 and Dancer who played a few holes behind us and I was still in the lounge when they came in. They both scored better than me. Dancer is now a Warra member.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

DavidMParticipantStableford SLGC. Great morning for golf, cool with a light breeze, no excuses.
Playing off 18, a very steady start, turned the corner with 18
A bit up and down over the next 9 but evened out to a nice 20 for a total of 38
Disappointing result on the last, after a good drive, pulled my second shot, chipped short and ended with one point.
Should be enough to take my GA back to 18.0 or close to that.
Happy to end the golfing year at that level.
Will push down a few more shots next year.December 31, 2020 at 7:57 am #14725
DavidMParticipantGA dropped lower than I thought.
New Low for me 17.7
will be able to drop a few more shots in the next few months (I hope)1 user liked this post.
