FrancieKeymasterStableford yesterday at Settlers Run. Playing off the gold tees and two tees. Windy northerly. Started on the 10th and playing off 11 for the day.
First 9 – (Back) – 17 points (42 OTS)
Second 9 – (Front) – 18 points (42 OTS)
There were about 5 or 6 of us that finished with 35 and that was the winning score for A & B grade.. I lost 3 countbacks and finished 4th DTL
No wipes and a couple of silly 3 putts but I got up and down pretty well. So swings and roundabouts.EDIT – Small fall for the handicap from 10.2 to 10.0

OldBogeyParticipantStab today at Warra.
On Tues I started with six 1-putts for nearly all pars on those six holes. End result – a crap score.
Today, no 1-putts on any of those six holes. Total for the day was just four 1-putts, one chip-in and two 3-putts.
But the result was 18 & 19 for a 37 point total and third in A grade.I’ve been sure that I couldn’t play to 13, but today proved me wrong.
I lose a 38 point flag off my last 20 and this 37 point will probably drop my handicap further.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

DavidMParticipantSLGC 32pts Yet another game where it felt good then fell in a hole. Par three holes in a row, then Scrub, 0ne, Scrub.
I feel like i’m almost there but just can’t make it all the way round in good nick.March 19, 2020 at 6:31 pm #10425
Hack2489ParticipantPlayed Caboolture today. Turfers has done a great job maintaining the course through rain and drought. The greens are excellent.
They have preferred lie in place but it’s not really necessary.
I had 41 for 18 and 42 for 17 for 35 all up – took my handicap down 0.3 to 11.1
Played with Weeti today at Caboolture. 25 points off 14.
9 points on the front but only 2 wipes. Just always seemed to have 1 shot too many. Tidied it up on the back with 44/16.
So, are these from Brisbane Fairways comp?
By the time you realise this part of my signature doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

OldBogeyParticipantOldies’ nine hole this morning, before the shut down.
Six 2-points, three 3s for a 21 point total, enough to win the day.
Four 1-putts helped, particularly after failing some 2nd shots.Hopefully, we’ll be able to continue in the coming weeks and months.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today. Not many out there.
No flag sticks or rakes, most holes had the liner upside down – when your ball bounces off the plastic, it is ‘holed’.
No marker of the score card, just DIY.
Miclub have brought out a new app to record scores as you go, no card needed. But it requires signatures of both player and marker. I referred that back to our pro shop without any response yet.
16 out with one wipe, 15 back in with another wipe. Bloody difficult without a shot on so many holes.Of course, no bar for a drink afterwards. But at least we could play. For now.

DavidMParticipantSLGC Stabford 37 At last a day of two half’s 20 out and 17 in.
So many missed opportunities left a sour taste on a good day.
Felt like I struck the ball well, sometimes but silly mistakes held me back.
Not sure if we can play again but hope we can at least walk the course if no comp.
Stay safe

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra today. Course was very quiet.
16 out, four 1-putts but also two 3-putts. Three no-shot holes.
21 back, another four 1-putts, no 3-putts. Only two no-shot holes (2 pts on one, 1 pt on the other).Total of 37 points will probably trim my handicap further.
No socialising allowed before or after. Sitting at home having a Budweiser and msging you lot.
No flag sticks on course, so I took my own (a plastic bicycle one). Go up to green, plant flag, go back and play approach shot.
Most of the hole liners have been upended, they missed a few. My iron grips (Golf Pride tour wrap jumbo) fit normal hole liners, but not the inverted ones. Hence the need for byo. It’ll be interesting to see how it all goes on Sat when the course is busier.Next thing: the course has adopted Miscore, a phone app that syncs with the club’s Miclub setup. You login using your usual club login (did that on Tues when I installed it) and didn’t have to re-do it again today). Then nominate (in the app) who in the group is my marker, then record both scores as you go. At the end, you ‘submit’ the scores but it only uploads the ‘marker’ scores, not mine. Good thing I recorded my scores on the usual scorecard so the pro shop can enter them. I wonder what happens if I don’t nominate a marker? The system has promise, but it is beyond the capability of many golfers, particularly us old farts.
The Buddy is going down well but a cat is now holding me down thus preventing me from getting a refill. Anyone good at herding cats or training one to get me another beer from the fridge?

I was referring to the backing out garage door issue.

OldBogeyParticipantBloody hell!
37 points yesterday and it has cost me another half stroke off my ‘cap.
I’ll be playing off 12 whenever the course re-opens, assuming the dreaded lurgy hasn’t caught up with me and killed me off.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

DavidMParticipantSLGC still playing for now. Stroke, two day event, playing off 19, Hit the ball well and was even to my handicap after 5.. then hit a wrong ball, was not going well that hole before that, crap after. Did well on the back nine to end up with 89 strokes, even par for the course. just have to hole it together for tomorrow.. see what happens!

DavidMParticipantRound 2. Paired with a man I do not like, It got in my head for a few holes, then settled a bit. Game was a bit off but came home with a bit of a Run and made up for some of my loss at the start. Hole of the round, 11th, slight dogleg right, hit my drive past the bend to be 97m out, took the pitching wedge and landed it just short of the flag, rolled out half a metre, leaving me pin high, one metre to the right, I Missed the putt…….
Ended with 75 net, which was just enough to win the B grade Net.
No official word yet but club is rumoured to close for comp golf before the next one on Wednesday.1 user liked this post.
