Two games of SCats in the last two days and I’ve played pretty crap both days for 29 points at Twin Waters off 10 and 28 points at Mt Coolum off 9

Highlight was an eagle today on the par 5 4th – draining a PW from about 113m
    Otherwise it’s been pretty ugly

Wynnum off Blues temporary course today playing off 7!
It’s a strange thing when I can walk off disappointed with a 10 over 80 but there you go

Putted badly and didn’t get up and down much
    Long game was pretty solid

    2 birdies 7 pars 6 bogies 3 doubles
    6 over 4 front for 16 points
    4 over 40 back for 17 points

    5/13 + 5 close for fairways
Dropped 1 shot with a hook off 1
But got 1/2 back with great drive on 7 leaving me 40m out

    10 GIR
Dropped 1 shot with a 6 iron hook off 6
Got 1/2 back with LW pitch to 6ft on 7 which I dropped for birdie

    3/10 up and down
    5 dropped

    34 putts
Dropped 3 with 3 putts, 2 with short misses and made 1 up with a 20 footer for birdie on 4

Disappointed with the putting but overall a pretty decent performance

Was supposed to play there Friday week ago, when we couldn’t get on Redcliffe, but the other three didn’t want to play there.

I was also told by the Assistant Pro that the greens had only been renovated a week before which didn’t help matters. How were the greens when you eventually found them?

The greens had been cored but it’s been a few weeks – they were fully recovered

They were a bit slow but I have no issue with them keeping them a little longer to reduce the stress on them

I dunno what the Assistant Pro was thinking?

80 ofts playing of very fwd tees.
    2 birdies.

    I started on the 2nd 9 – 39 and played the 2nd 9 – 41

Played Sanctuary Cove Palms today with Brisbane Fairways off the Blues off 10

A real up and down day with 3 birdies but 4 doubles and a triple

13 over and my self scoring gave me 7 over on the long game, 1 over with pitching, 4 over short game and 1 over putting

Good signs I think and 34 points was a decent result
    Handicap down to 9.5

I think that’s a key part of it Commish
I think soft ground under the ball will have an impact but clean contact is the most important thing

    Range of things

I wasn’t getting anything up and down and some shots dropped with the long game including a hybrid off the tee on 17 through the fairway into the hazard leaving no shot at the green

Off 9 at Windaroo off the blues today

A real mixed bag finished with 13 over 84 and 32 points

    2 birdies 5 pars 7 bogies 4 doubles

5/13 fairways + 3 close – dropped 2 with driver and 2 with a hybrid that went through the fairway on 17 into the hazard and left no shot at the green after the drop

7 GIR + 4 Texas – dropped 4 from irons into places that weren’t realistic up and downs, and 1 from a SW pitch from 80 that flew the green
    Hit a 9i to 3ft on 18 for birdie

2/13 up and downs – dropped 4 shots

33 putts – 1 3 putt and 1 30ft putt dropped for birdie so even with the flat stick

    Out to 9.7 after today

Caboolture last round of the BF club champs today
But I’m well out so that didn’t matter

Off 10 had 6 over 41 on the back nine for 17 points
Then had a quad bogey 8 on the 1st! Handicap gone!
Then managed to finish the last 8 holes in par with a birdie on the last for 40 and 20 points

    So 81 and 37 points
Handicap down to 9.5 from 9.9

+1s from hybrid, putt on 10 for birdie start, and Texas in for par on 2
4 dropped off the tee but not too concerned as I was bombing it and hit most solidly – 2 were from going through the fairway
1 from a overdrawn hybrid off the tee
2 from poor wedge shots into a bunker on 15 and fat on 1
1 from a LW pitch that didn’t make the green
3 from not up and down with LW 8i and Texas
    2 from 3 putts

Have to be happy with how I turned the second nine around

    Windaroo next weekend

Totally opposite game today at Burleigh
Off 9 again and had 44 back 40 front for 13 over and 32 points

No shots dropped with the long game due to some solid punch work out of the trees
    +1 with irons for a 6i to 5ft for birdie on 8

6 over with the putter – so that was similar to last week

    8 over short game

What a crazy game this is!

Only put a strike against a shot if it costs you a shot, or is at least the major cause

Just because you miss a fairway left as long as you can hit a shot at the green or close enough to it to have a good chance at up and down it hasn’t cost you anything’s

Similarly an approach that misses the green but leaves a standard chip shot that a scratch golfer would get close most times isn’t a shot lost

Played at Pacific with Brisbane Fairways off 9
Driver was pretty good – 1 over
Rest of long game wasn’t – 7 over
Unexpectedly my pitching and chipping game was excellent – 1 over for the whole round
Putting started well but came home poorly – 3 over

    44 39 for 83 net 3 over 74 and 33 points

I’ve moved to a system similar to “Whack, fuck”
The difference being the infliction to represent good or bad on the later.

This weekend I will be knocking off a played to of 4.5 from Indro in March 2017.
Obviously, my expectations are for the handicap to stay where it is.
    Good times.

Reminds me of your first tee shot at Hope

The crisp morning air rang to the sound of your crisp driver contact
    Whack

Followed by a more subdued vocalisation as the ball hooked hard into the neighbors home
    Fuck
