WeetbixParticipantPlayed Bribie with Brisbane Fairways today in what can only be described as brutal humidity. The course was in excellent condition given the heavy rains and the greens being scarified recently. Played off 11.
Had 4 over front for 18 points and 8 over back for 17 points – 35 points all up which was good enough for second of a group of 20
1 birdie 8 pars 6 bogies 2 doubles 1 triple
2 wipes7/14 fairways – drove it pretty well but Bribie isn’t generous so some slightly off line drives meant having to punch under and around trees. Only 1 dropped shot from a draw on 10 where most of the day I was hitting fades. Had 5 holes where I was punching out.
4 GIR – not where it needs to be. Hit a 4i on 2 into the trees and lost so cost me 2 shots. But should have done better.
5/13 up and down – some good putts dropped helped here. Dropped 8 shots:
2/3 8i chips
1/3 PW chips
0/3 SW bunker shots
1/3 Texas wedges32 putts – 2 3 putts were disappointing, but dropped a few longer putts as well so not too bad.
Always enjoy the challenge of Bribie. The greens on the back were pretty rough but that’s a small issue.
McLeod next week for an in between game

WeetbixParticipant4BBB Stroke in the Charles Earp Jug (an absolutely champion bloke) and our net 70 was just a touch away from the three way countback of the 61s…….
I played real, real bad which had nothing to do with the constant drizzly rain and extremely wet conditions underfoot. The full swing yips came back big time along with a dose of very poor putting.
Still, it was a day away from work.
Wow – your driving on the second nine on Sunday looked like it was on the road to recovery – can’t believe it has reverted so quickly
Gold can be a cruel mistress
WeetbixParticipantOuch
WeetbixParticipantSo I’m a lucky man

WeetbixParticipant34 points (5×1) just scraped into the rundown.
35 points at Royal Queensland off 12
Stooped for lightning mid round but overall not terrible
32 (2W 2×1) 35 putts not good.
Great day in the park with Weetie and Bump made up for some so-so scoring.
A fortuitous lightning break coincided with some heavy rain, so we pretty well had decent weather albeit being incredibly humid and very wet underfoot. Good company makes up for the foibles of the weather anyway.
Weetie played pretty well with the exception of some short game glitches. Bump came home well the second nine, and it’s obvious that with more reps he would be playing off 3 or 4……but he got flogged in the ‘match’:)
The match wasn’t very even – even with a good back nine by Bump
But the company was excellent as usual – really appreciate the invite again Upnin
Now if I can just get that shot game going
To hell with the shot game – get your short game into order!:)
Ah! That’s the problem!
