WeetbixParticipantPlayed McLeod yesterday. Overall the course condition was very good. We got a bit wet but dried off by the end.
I played terribly. 23 points off 12. 25 over.
7 dropped from bad putts
7 dropped from not getting up and down
3 dropped from bad iron and hybrid shots
7 dropped from driver – 5 from 2 drives!
1 dropped from 4i tee shot on a par 4Nothing good all day
1 par on 10 our first hole
11 bogies
4 doubles
2 triples
WeetbixParticipantI played … really crap
But it’s not a poo game so that’s a positive
23 points at McLeod
Close….to poo? 😉
Very
You could smell it in the air? 🙂
Like I stepped in something!

WeetbixParticipantYep – those are all the scenarios
When they come off they feel great
But …

WeetbixParticipantI use putter 8i and PW preferably
But sometimes onky LW will do
WeetbixParticipantFrom mid fairway?
From mid fairway?
I guessing from a hazard
Im only messing with Goldy about how far he drives the ball.;) He bags my putting ever since the first Nationals!

Well I knoked in a birdie putt on the 1st at Lakelands from about 20m short of the green so it’s possible

WeetbixParticipantFrom mid fairway?
WeetbixParticipantMy chipping around the green with the lob wedge suffers from a tendency to not make a big enough swing
Usually this means I don’t swing back enough and then in a panic to get the ball to the target my hands step in and throw the clubhead and usually that leads to a thin or fat shot
Confidence was mentioned because one of the reasons for the too short backswing is a history of blading it so there’s a fear factor in creating the speed I need
It’s quite a roller coaster – too avoid the blade I create the conditions that usually lead to a blade!

WeetbixParticipantThat’s excellent news
WeetbixParticipantAnd yet still possibly not-9 for either of the two 9s on that day!
WeetbixParticipant25 (6W 1×1) – what can I say…..I stunk the place up. Did manage a par on 18 to square the match for of only two 3 pointers.
You must have been pumped up playing with me and Bump – you’ve struggled since!

WeetbixParticipantYou are right about GIRs though. Had a couple that were on but rolled off too.
Bribie is a tough driving course. The fairways are tight to tightish but once you leave them you usually have tree trouble straight away. It’s a great test.
My driving was pretty good but you pay a price for being a bit off there.
WeetbixParticipantI’ve had short game lessons – chipping and putting – and am happy enough with contact with lower lifted clubs. Confidence to make the needed swing with higher lofted clubs will come in time.
WeetbixParticipantDropped my Moonah Open round and went out to 11.8
