Played at Keperra today and had 16 and 14 for 30 points

Some good play but one of those when I didn’t turn opportunities into points

And what about 18, were you in range for a crack at it in two?

Nope – the tee shot drew a bit so wasn’t even close
    6i layup
    PW to about 15ft
    Just missed the putt

Almlst reached 9 in 2 though – driver mini driver to just short
Texas was looking really good then hit a bump and finished 5ft short
    Just missed the putt

37 points at Palm Meadows – 18 back and 19 front

Driver cost me a few and a couple of shocking thin approach shots but got away with them
Otherwise played pretty well, although couldn’t manage a birdie

Did you take on the bamboo?

Flew it with 4h then drew it back to the centre of the fairway

For those who take a keen interest (probably for entertainment purposes) in my short game – he is how it went today, starting off 10

10 LW over bunker to downhill lie – well struck but bit long and rolled well past – happy with that
12 Texas from just over to 1 ft and down’
13 Texas from just short to 6ft and down
14 Texas from right edge to 1 ft and down
15 PW from over short to 20ft
2 PW from a bit short to 3ft and down
4 LW from left of green to 4ft but missed
5 PW from short to 4ft and down
8 Texas from long and left was good to 5ft over a huge swale – pretty happy with it but misread the putt so not down
9 Texas from just short after MD second shot on the par 5 hit something and bounced up and finished short and not down

Overall very happy with the short game. Still shots to save – lots of them – but has been a lot worse,

Just to interrupt OB talking to himself in here, thought I’d post the outcome from the Blue Marker challenge today…

A dozen Pro V golf balls are on their way to mwah… Not only did I break my handicap, but I shot a net 70.

DSR of 74 and slope 138. No PCC adjustment.

Gives me a ‘played to’, or as it’s now known, the ‘differential’ of … 13.1

Awesome stuff Hack – not easy off those blues

Much better today at Palm Meadows – particularly the putting where I saved a lot of shots early through sinking some 5-6 footers

Course has bunkers GUR – they are going to take a lot of fixing – and the greens were patchy but rolled quite well generally so no complaints there

    10 pars 7 bogies 1 double – 41 back 40 front for 81 off 10 and 37 points

7/14 fairways – the fades were strong today and cost me 2 shots on 10 (1st hole) and 7, with my only hook with driver costing me a shot on 16. Not terrible but will save some shots easily if I can straighten up a bit

6 GIR – dropped 2 shots – 1 from a thin PW on 10, 1/2 from a thin SW on 15 and 1 from a poorly planned iron on 3 – really that was a course management error. In addition to the 6 GIR I had 5 others just off. Still some improvement here to take out the thin shots and some weak pushes.

5/12 UD – dropped 2 shots here because some misses were from the poor approaches leaving me short sided, 1 was the putters fault and 1 was on a par 5 which still led to a par (and was unlucky to find a pothole on the green).
    3/5 Texas – 1 dropped
2/3 PW – 1/2 dropped (shouldn’t thin a SW over the green and left with a challenging chip of thick grass to a downhill short sided – but could have made it so spread the pain between the SW and the chip)
0/3 LW – 1/2 dropped – made a good chip to 4ft on 4 but missed – spread the pain between the chip and putt but it was a good chip so I am happy about that. The other 2 were short sided and hit good shots but not inside 3ft by some margin
0/2 LW pitches – on 16 LW pitch from 30m to 5ft and on 3 LW pitch from 50m to 15ft – no shots dropped as I don’t expect to get up and down from that far but very happy with both shots
Should have made more but overall very happy with that part of my game today

32 putts – 1 1/2 dropped – 1 3 putt, 1 miss from 4ft – much much better than last week so very happy about that

Overall it dropped me 0.4 to 11.4 with a played to 10.1 – I now have some space without flags dropping – better get my ass into gear

I am not sure if I should or shouldn’t like it!

Jeepers Weetbix ! 2 triples. I suggest that your mind was not on the job. Someone suggested more physical exercise/ labour. Maybe a some pre -match exercise of a more delicate nature ( read between the lines) might clear your thought process?

    Some quality advice there!

Well it was a mixed bag i think

    I appreciate not liking it
    I certainly didn’t like it!

Is it ok to like a post about not liking?

As long as it’s ok to like you liking not liking
