WeetbixParticipantSunday at Redcliffe off 12 in Brisbane Fairway’s return from a covid break
9 pars 5 bogies 3 doubles 1 triple for 34 points
7/14 fairways – 2 dropped shots again mostly from the push slice with seiver, 1 from a hooked MD off the 1st
8 GIR – only 1 dropped iron shot – hit the ball pretty well mostly
3/13 up and downs – 7 dropped shots but apart from 2 weak LW chips the chipping was decent. Tended to overhit the Texas wedges.
35 putts + 5 Texas – dropped 3 shots again plus 2 others from Texas wedge misses in the up and downs above – so many putts that just missed today and nothing dropped – one of those days
WeetbixParticipantGreat weekend for golf with decent buf error prone golf from me
Saturday at Sanctuary Cove care of Mads, playing with our resident Golf Pro (Not a Pro Golfer), his BIL Darren and DB – was a lot of fun
The course was truly in awesome condition, with fairways like carpet and pretty fast hard breaking greens
I lost too many balls to the water right but had a better back nine to finish with 32 points off 11
8 oars 6 bogies 3 doubles 1 triple
6/13 fairways – driver remains slicey and 2 deipped shots ensued plus 1 from a wet hybrid off the 3rd Tee
7 GIR – some good shots but 3 dropped shots with irons
3/11 up and downs – 6 dropped shots and not too bad given how tough the greens are
35 putts + 6 Texas – dropped 3 shots (plus the 3 not up and down Texas wedges) – felt I putted reasonably on tough greens

WeetbixParticipantYour game sounds suspiciously familiar
WeetbixParticipantThe third hole playing into the teeth of the southerly will be fun.
Drive goes right, drop 2.
Hit it fat into the bunker for 3.
Skull it out over the green for 4.
drop 5, up and over the green for 6.
Hit bunker shot for 7
Putter is still in the bag, untouched after 3 holesWow – what happened on 2?
WeetbixParticipantThat’s an aggressive line off the tee!
That’s where it will finish, the aiming point is about 10m+ right of that, well outside the bunker knowing it will draw back on the breeze and end up there.
It’s all about putting yourself in the spot you want your second shot from.
and bearing in mind, it has been 5 months since I have swung a club, anywhere in the air is my first goal
I play every week and that’s still my goal!
WeetbixParticipantSee you in 5 sleeps Weets
Can’t wait
You going driver off the 1st?
what other holes do you want my advice on?
Given you started with a 240m 3 wood which is a bit out of my league I suspect that your advice wont be very applicable to this chopper!
WeetbixParticipant
WeetbixParticipant
WeetbixParticipantHave you been for a putter fitting Weets?
A while back with my old TM mallet. They didn’t change the putter. Didn’t change my stats much either!
WeetbixParticipant6 weeks under lock down, hope I will still be me afterward. Hope someone remember my name.
You’re unforgettable
WeetbixParticipantPar 68 helps a bit!
But it has a lot of blind shots – knowing the course better next time will help a lot
WeetbixParticipantPlayed at Maleny off 11
Quite reminiscent of many of the Mornington Peninsula courses with fairly open fairways but thick rough if you miss and most likely a lost ballHad 14 and 16. 5 over on the putting was a primary culprit, along with being too weak on most of my chips
Overall struck the ball well with 2 shots dropped from a lost drive on 9. Had some tough up and downs from approaches missing the mark but nothing impossible. Should have made more up and downs.
17 over 85 off the stick
I look forward to returning and with some better course knowledge saving myself some shots.
WeetbixParticipantSoft arms
WeetbixParticipantYeah was a pretty consistent fade
Sometimes too much fade but it was consistent shape all dayJust have to trust it and aim a bit further left to get better results
