The long term impacts are going to be shocking now we havs moved from flatten the curve to elimination – which I think NZ demonstrates is not possible

The health approach is the easier sell when you post daily stats and everyone parrots the “How many deaths are acceptable ” line as if death is not inevitable and we haven’t been discussing tge merits of euthanasia for decades

I’m extremely concerned for the medium term for this state, and the whole country

    Ink eats them

you being the receiver ATM specialist.

funny mention “orifice” and here you pop up!

If he sees any sort of hole, he has a habit of ‘poppin up’.

Tough being a normal person in VIC. “Any hole will do, better than no hole””. Are we talking about putting? 🙂

Haha – of course Della, what else?

I thought he liked to stick them in various crevices? Or is that orifices?

Doesn’t have to be either or

    More binoculars than telescope today
    Played Virginia off 12
Course was in good condition – as green as I have ever played it. Greens weren’t fast but the pins were in slippery spots so made for some interesting golf

4 over 40 back and 39 front for an 8 over 79 net 67 and 2nd for the days comp was good

    2 birdies 6 pars 10 bogies

6/14 + 3 close fairways – drove pretty well mostly but also had a couple lucky ones that slide through trees. 2 dropped shots weren’t from shockers but left difficult approach options.

6 GIR – only 1 dropped shot from a thin iron and overall a good ball striking day

4/11 up and down – dropped 4 shots
    2/2 Texas
    1/6 PW chip – 4 dropped
    0/1 LW chip – 0 dropped
    0/1 SW sand – 0 dropped
    1/1 LW sand

    32 putts – 3 dropped – 2×3 putts and 1 4ft missed, but dropped a couple of 12 footers

Overall ball striking was good. Had a bit of luck with tee shots sneaking through trees after I hit them straighter than expected (allowing for a push fade).

Short game is still a long way to go but no shockers

Putting was disappointing for the 3 putts and the 4 footer but made some good ones too so not disappointed

Hope I can keep the good stuff going

Wow getting close to single digit Weeti. Well done 2nd place.

    Thanks Della

Got the handicap down 0.9 to 10.8 which by my measure makes me 1.4 shots over singles

Got 3 flags still I’m the 13’s so just need to post some decent rounds and I’m a chance

Next flag drops in my 4th round

    Better
    8 over 79 ar Virginia off 12
    2 birdies
    2 3 putts
    No wipes
    Hit the ball mostly solidly
4/11 up and downs – chipped decently but not great by a long shot
Dropped some good putts, but a couple of lags from 40ft or so weren’t good enough

You know how the pros will sometimes put out a list by club of carry and total distance?

Goldy’s version would be quite the roller coaster

Tough around the greens along with a wipe on 9 basically off the tree led to 16 over and 29 points at Helensvale

It’s a very short course but tight and with very good greens and surrounds to make it a test. Of 12 we had 3 make 32 as our best scores.

    1 birdie only 4 pars 10 bogies 2 doubles 1 triple wipe

6/14 fairways – dropped 3 shots on 9 with a lost/probably pulled OOB and then a push into the water. Smashed a 280+m drive to pin high on 13 which was nice

    6 GIR – 2 dropped from a thin LW and a pushed 6i

Overall struck the ball fairly decently so that was a positive

2/10 up and downs – not good around the greens – didn’t hit bad chips but the hardness and speed made it tough. Dropped 8:
    1/5 Texas
    0/1 5i chip
    1/1 PW from 30m
    0/2 LW chip
    0/1 SW sand

37 putts – 4 x 3 putts. Had lots of lip outs too.

Interesting that they see breaking 80 as a goal for high handicappers
Would have thought they were trying to break 90
If breaking 80 is a realistic opportunity for you you shouldn’t have a high handicap – low teens at worst

Everyone fails at golf for different reasons
I think that improving your course management is a must for breaking 80 – playing to your specific skill set
7 over though requires more than just minimising errors – you have to score a lot of pars

    More rubbish today
    92 net 80 at McLeod
Pretty much everything was bad all day

1 birdie and finished with the ball I started with but nothing else of note

    Simple accountants
 I mean counting error.

Evidently it was a skill error

Are you trying to tell me you’ve never had an up and down shot that didn’t end up on the green? You’re a hell of a golfer!
I have a new golf idol!

I didn’t become the Nats Champ* by fluke

    Oh…..wait……

Haha! Well you were the best of the rest so I suppose that is something?

How do you hit 8 greens but have 11 chances at an up and down?
Did you spill your beer in the clubhouse after the round?

On 3 I had a pitch from about 30m which landed short, then had a Texas from there.
