Single figures eh.. Keep that up and you may just have Par In Your Sights.

Yep – been a long time!

I was 2 over before doubling the last hole – the 9th – which did make par seem less distant!

Off 9 today at Carbrook golf club. Course was in really good condition after pounding rain lately – fairways were lush and the greens were softer than usual ar Carbrook but rolled nicely.

Had my best round for a long time and finished with 1 over back 22 points and 3 over front for 19 points for a grand total of 4 over 75 and 41 points

    4 birdies 8 pars 8 bogies 1 double 1 wipe double

8/14 fairways – drove pretty well all day but dropped 2 shots from a driver push on 6 (my 15th) and a 3h push on 9 my last hole. Many drives were quite low but still flew well and got decent distance.

8 GIR – no dropped shots here but plenty of shots ahirt today but left fairly straightforward up and downs. Happy with the direction my swing is going even though there was a bit of power loss today.

6/12 up and downs – 1 chip in – dropped 3 shots as I was greenside in 2 on both front 9 par 5s and missed a putt from 6ft on 1.
    1/3 SW sand – 1 dropped
    0/1 LW pitch – 1 dropped
    1/1 LW chip -,lipped out
    3/6 PW chips – 1 dropped
1/1 8i chip – dropped a putt from 8ft so chip wasn’t quite where it should have been
Chipped in with PW on 16 for birdie

28 putts – the highlight of the round was the putting. Dropped 3 shots from a 3 putt from 60+ ft and 2 misses from 6ft for up and downs, but made up for it:
    10 dropped 10ft for birdie
    15 dropped 20ft for birdie
    5 dropped 8ft for par
    8 dropped 30ft for birdie

Handicap has dropped feom 10.3 to 9.2 with a played to 4.6 today – my best handicap since July 2016

Hope I can maintain that sort of form going forward

Wow crazy weather. How was course conditions otherwise?

Tried to play Oxley today after some solid rain last night. Made it through 16 holes before the lightning alarm called us in, and the comp was subsequently cancelled. It kept raining on and off so we decided not to play the last 2 holes.

Probably the hardest hail I have ever seen totally covered the practice green while we waited under cover. I got one dent on my bonnet – hopefully that’s all the damage.

Shouldn’t go in golflink – saved me a non flag as I had 26 points after 16 holes off 8. Even a par par finish would have only got me to 31.

Didn’t play too badly – but a couple of bad holes got me wipes and didn’t make many up and downs.

    1 birdie 7 pars 3 bogies 4 doubles 1 triple

5/12 fairways – 1 dropped – tee shots were ok mostly

7/16 GIR – pretty good statistically, but missed some greens that I shouldn’t have – dropped 3 from 1 iron and 2 wedges

1/10 up and down – 9 shots dropped
    0/2 LW sand – 3 dropped after a blade
    1/3 PW chips – 2 dropped
    0/4 Texas – that’s a very poor result

    31 putts from 16 holes – 1 3 putt

It’s doing ok – greens were long and some patchiness, as has the fairways

    The rain will be welcome

    Definitely wasn’t better
    Off 10 had 47 for 12 and 43 for 16 for 90 and 28 points
    Winner had 33

Lipped out for birdie on 1 then went downhill
Finished par par bogie par double to scramble something from the round – that was 11 of my points

Windy, tough greens, and a swing that left me a bit uncertain, along with only a couple of up and downs was bad for scoring. 2 3 putts was decent on pretty fast and hard breaking greens

Was a very fun 6 days but the golf was disappointing

Played at Headland off 9 today
    19 40 front was good
13 45 back not so much

7/14 fairways – 2 dropped shots but also some good driving so ok

6 GIR – 2 irons and 1 wedge dropped so a bit off but also some good shots so ok

1/10 up and downs – not good but tough greens. Not terrible but not good.

35 putts – also not good but only 1 3 putt

Last game at Pelican Waters tomorrow – hopefully a bit better
