WeetbixParticipantPlayed Pacific today in their comp. Played ok but didn’t have a lot of luck – good luck anyway – and no putts fell so didn’t score top great.
Off 10
14 back with 45 shots
19 front with 40 shots
33 points and 85 shots net 757 pars 9 bogies 2 doubles
9/14 fairways – dropped 1 shot with a topped 3 hybrid. Overall drove it decently.
7 GIR – first nice – the back – I dropped a couple of shots from punches out of trees that went much higher that I wanted and clipped trees. Also topped a MD into the water on the 9th our last hole, and got under a LW off the tee on a par 3 which put me in the water. So 4 shots dropped.
3/8 up and down:
0/3 LW chips – none were terrible but they weren’t close enough
2/3 PW chips/pitches – not too bad
0/1 LW sand – good shot and probably should have made it
1/1 Texas36 putts – 3 dropped from 2 3 putts and 1 missed up and down inside 6ft
Could have been a decent round if a couple of putts dropped

WeetbixParticipantSLGC. Stab. Perfect day for Golf. playing off 18
Started well, 21 points after 8 holes.
From there on it was a train wreck, played the next 10 holes for 13 points.
Total of 34, new flag, should be happy but after a hot start, left feeling a bit Flat.
A highlight from the day was a Birdie of the par 5 third hole.
Good drive to the middle of the fairway, not overly long.
Second shot pulled left to be just off the fairway and 114m out.
Third shot bladed my 9 iron, looked like it was going off the green but pulled up 4 feet from the pin
Made the putt
That’s Golf !Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story …
A highlight from the day was Birdie on the long par 5 third hole.
Smoked drive up the middle.
Took trouble out of play and placed my second shot 114m out
9 iron, third shot, to 4 feet.
Drained the puttI don’t think you sold it as well as you could have

Solid drive up the middle.

Third shot played a Tiger like low spinning 9 iron, hop and stop to 4 feet.

WeetbixParticipantMy golf at times could definitely be described that way
All those ways
WeetbixParticipantPlayed Helensvale as the last 2020 game for Brisbane Fairways
Ambrose which worked well after the huge downpours here as there were some very soggy parts to the course todayWe got 5th with a 2 over 70 off the stick which was net 64.75
Feel like I hit the ball pretty well – some poor results from trying to play some go for it shits after the partner put shots in play
Good fun

WeetbixParticipantNice
WeetbixParticipantGood stuff! Before you know it you won’t have any 2017 games in your 20 handicap rounds!
Yeah 2023 should see some movement..🤦♂️
It turns out I have 9 games from 2017 in my last 20, so I’m thinking Commish is right on the money.
You blokes should get out there and play a bit more. Golf can be fun.
The oldest round in my last 20 is 3 Nov, six weeks ago. Some people have a life..
20 rounds every 6 weeks sounds like a life I could deal with tbh
You can look forward to it in 25 yrs when you retire. Prior to that you have a working life to lead. You did however get a taste of it whilst in the unemployed transition stage..😃
25yrs until ‘retirement’? Only if he’s 25 now … no one works full time past 50 these days, do they?
Unfortunately I have been. I’ve done 11 years since I turned 50 as full time and SHIFT WORK. I think I’ve earned some part time…..which starts tomorrow. 🙂
Enjoy Frank

I expect I will be – since I’ll pass that milestone in 6 months
WeetbixParticipantIn other news, I just got back from the tax agent and the outcome will be that there’s enough there for a putting green down the side of the house.
I’ll get back in contact with the fella who did yours Weets, he was really good to talk with so fingers crossed 🤞Very exciting mate
