OldBogeyParticipantWell, I made it out to 18.4 for 30/6.
As my anchor date is in May, the most I could possibly get out to for the end of the year is 18.9
Hopefully I’ll get down to the target 17 instead.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantStab at Warra.
My good swing was only present for about half the holes. On the others, I just battled on regardless.
30 points. The greens have been fertilised with what seems like course wet sand. As the ball rolls across the green, it picks up an extra layer around the circumference and could go anywhere. The greens were also extra lumpy. If only they’d been rolled.
One player had 40 points, so they couldn’t have been all that bad.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantOld farts’ nine hole stab this morning.
Started with a 3-point par on the 10th which usually doesn’t bode well for the rest of the round. Also parred the index-1 13th which is a rare feat. All others were 2-points except the 18th which I 3-putted for 1 point. Total 19 points.
Apart from the par3s, I hit every fairway with straight drives.
Although I was the longest hitter in the group (that’s not a claim to fame), distance wasn’t great. But that was probably due to the ice everywhere and 0° at the start.I’m hoping my swing is coming back into form.

OldBogeyParticipantWhen we made our estimates, most would not have considered the new world order – world handicap system.
At Warragul where I play most rounds, the course rating is two under par, so all playing handicaps had two deducted. I expected that, in time (20 rounds), most handicaps would have edged back out those two shots. But it hasn’t happened. The two month break from golf may have slowed that.
My handicap, on the other hand, continued to plummet before the lockdown. I must have been doing something right. I wonder what it was?
Now, that two stroke variance has caught up with me and my 30 June estimate of 16.5 has become 18.2, in the soft cap area.
My low point was 13.9, which was generated around the start of March but continued into late May as the flags moved down my list. So the top of my handicap can only get to 18.9 for the next year.
Maybe I can fix my swing and get out from under the cap.People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

OldBogeyParticipantAnother stab round today. Some good holes with a few pars and a birdie. But too many stuff-ups.

OldBogeyParticipantWhy do you have to call it migrant surburbs?
Because they have a very high percentage of ‘recent arrivals’ when compared to other suburbs. It was suggested on the news that many such people do not understand the social distancing rules because they are presented in English.

OldBogeyParticipantPositive thoughts people. Come October, when you check in at the airport, if your temperature is within the prescribed range and you have no other symptoms, them you hop on a plane and head to NSW. If not, STAY THE FUCK AT HOME.
Or, you could opt to drive, just leave 2 weeks earlier than expected and keep to yourself on the way up.
I don’t know the suburbs where the hot spots in Vic are at the moment, so I can’t really comment on what may be causing the spike. But I will hazard a guess and presume they are total dumb fucks.
The best part is… I know that those of you in Vic who desire to attend the Nats are doing the right thing anyway because that is the type of people you are. It will happen and you will be there.
Let’s just call those suburbs ‘migrant’ suburbs. You should’ve seen the arrogant, young dumb fuck being interviewed on tv. There was no way he was going to keep his distance from others, wear a mask or even stay away from granny. If he catches the virus, he’ll survive because he’s young and tough. If he passes it to granny and she dies, bad luck.

OldBogeyParticipantHow did this thread go from talking about the largest golf green, to mouldys putting to hitting potato wedges.
Just like any other conversation.

OldBogeyParticipantI played on Thur, another stab round.
My handicap, having gone out a few, meant I was able to generate 32 points. First time over 30 since they let us back onto golf courses. Of course, it flagged and I won a ball.I’ll be out there again today and lose another flag off the list.

OldBogeyParticipantFar from me being one to tar many with the same brush, but fark me there were some stupid individuals protesting in Melbourne today.
It really does go a long way in limiting any further sort of intelligence banter in their favour, for the long foreseeable futureAnd here is my public retraction.
There are dumb people in Brisbane too.The couple of protesters today in Brisbane against 5G, lockdown and vaccines show that there ridiculously stupid all over and state borders are no barrier to dumbness.
What is really scary is that some of those stupid individuals seem to have positions of power.
History is full of scarily stupid individuals who help positions of great power. Nero, Napoleon, Hitler, Kim whatsisname from Nth Korea, Trump, just to name a few.
The scary part is that so many people supported them,

OldBogeyParticipantWith all the new infections in Vic, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of Aust asks Trumpie for help with an anti-Mexican wall to keep us out of their territories.

OldBogeyParticipantThere are about 3-5 holes that favour draw shape on out tree line course. Plus I want to be able to develop the skill. I can do it with my FW woods, but the Driver eludes me.
These are two very distinctly different reasons, but both equally valid.
I am just trying to get a better feel for the holes, when you say “favour” does that mean that there is a short dog leg that you need to be around the corner for a shot at the green? as in, the trees on the left hand side completely block the green if you’re still on the right hand side of the fairway or is it that it’s a better angle coming into a tricky green being on the left?Do you give any consideration to where you tee it up within the tee block on these holes, this does come with it’s own risks when the shot does go straight after you’ve aimed along the left hand edge…but still
and yep, everyone wants to hit drawing bombs with driver
That thought process is for people who actually know what they are doing and are capable of carrying it off. Us flogs, well we just continue to get ambition and ability mixed up.
I tried to do one of those on Sunday. Not far enough through the dogleg, I needed a draw around trees and up to the green. The shot came off beautifully but it drew too much. If only I could make that work more reliably.
