Hi, well let me introduce Myself..
David, Live far south of Adelaide, walk down the street to play at SLGC.
Currently playing off 18.9, Not working for now so hope to improve that a bit.
Love the internet for the information and tips
Hate the internet for the Trolls and personal attacks on others

For the reason above, You won’t hear from me very often but I read a lot.
Let’s all play fair and maybe I will contribute as my skill improves…
    David

Hey David, welcome aboard the good ship Goldy pop golf a lot…

Can’t say there’s too many trolls around here, but there are some short ugly looking fellas by all accounts (I’m still learning from the inside jokes and innuendo) …

A lot of the regulars know each other IRL so there’s a bit of sledging and inside jokes. Take it as in good humour rather than as might appear nasty bitchiness.

Tell us more about your golfing exploits etc. Maybe start a journal / journey thread? Or, write up your recent rounds when you play in the “How’d you play this week” thread. And, what’s in your golf gear set up at the moment? Check out the proshop thread on that topic …

The more content to read the better to keep everyone amused at work. I’m convinced none of them work!

They all “work” but more time here at times!

Just caught up with MrBluu for lunch and one of the hundred things that he talked about was this place.

    Best wishes for the forum.

p.s. If we buy and sell golf clubs here, do we have to make the exchange in a Macquarie Park foyer.

    .

cash in a brown paper bag is good with me;)

I am unsure which state to be in…..:-)

That’s fine, you will be like the rest of us then… in a total STATE of confusion most of the time. 🙂

State of intoxication I hear is pretty good to visit in the evenings

a 25 degree swing yesterday blows my little mind!
Good luck with what you need to wear today

Yep…..29 degrees when I got in my car to drive to work at 5.00 am yesterday……….10 degrees this morning. Go figure??

    What were you wearing?

For those of you “locked out” of ISG here is some house keeping that I have passed on to the participants.

For everyone else, this is what’s in store for the Monday game at the 2020 Nationals…you’ve been warned! 😉

I’m really excited to be hosting you at my place of work on Monday.

This is a big deal, especially for me, being the first non member allowed to hold a golf day here. I know that you all understand the standards that most private courses set, it is a little more stringent here, for good reason, so I just have a little housekeeping to inform you about. These are are always communicated by members to their guests, maybe not as brutally, but non the less I have to follow protocol.

There are 3 car parks at Elanora. The top car park is for members only, please use the lower car park or there is a small one just down the drive on the right just before the bowling green, that’s where I park and is adjacent to the driving range. Apart from GPS on the course Mobile phones can only be used in the car park. Dress code is strict and will be policed, Collared shirts and must be tucked in, If wearing shorts, white socks, just over the ankles are the bare minimum. No cargo shorts or denim type clothing permitted. Sounds tough but as I tell others, these are the standards the club wants so it’s simple, don’t like it, don’t play.

If you are bringing guests please make them aware. This is a “test” event and if successful we’ll be able to hold more of these, and I’d love to be able to have the Monday National game here next year. Hands up if you are comparing with Bushwood!! LOL.

There is a range to warm up (balls purchased in the golf shop), nets behind the golf shop (balls supplied) and you can chip to the practice green. Please meet at the Golf Shop and It would be great, if possible, for you to be there by 8.45 for a briefing.

If you have any questions at all ask me now, please don’t wait until you get there. Call or message me if you need to.

Look forward to seeing you at Elanora!
    Cheers
    JB

    Never give up
Even if I you’re having a shocker coming home par par can change your feeling as you walk off
Every hole is a new adventure

And never forget we do this for fun so have a chuckle at yourself

Why did you do your selfie on the side?

We should have a game soon, I’m keen to see what all this fuss about playing with Weets is about.
Everyone raves about playing with Weets so I want to be in the cool gang too

    ADHD

We will have to organise it somehow …

    How’s your December looking?
Let’s do it, somewhere nice, but close to me
Early, but still at a reasonable time

Do you send out the invitation or do I knock on the door when I am in Gold coast? 🙂

    Just turn up!

I have to make sure if they are at home first. eg placegetter, Weetix, Bumpumrun, Panda or you. May be late February.

    ahem!!!

Mads, dont you have 100 bucket lists to do before getting old. You forgot 13th beach Creek course already. I was really an awful partner, you did most of the lifting. Also did a great job of finding my balls. Even now i still feel emotional embarrassing.

I am a glutton for punishment

My return to Queensland golf wasn’t too good yesterday. 17 over 88 at Surfers Paradise. Driver was off which wasn’t good on such a tight course – but it wasn’t on its lonesome by a long way.

Got some unlucky breaks too which definitely cost me on the scorecard.

    Onwards and upwards though

    Or downwards rather

What’s SPGC like. I’m playing there Monday week in a Charity day.

Not super long. Some holes pretty narrow and large trees each side of fairway

Can be in good shape but also can be very average

Flat course Being short game and you can score

    • This reply was modified 6 years, 10 months ago by BumpunRun.

What size are your shoes and are they left + right or right + left?

My FJs come as a Left + Right, I thought I should get a Right + Left ones when I got the Pumas.
It all depends on which socks I have.

    I don’t have any gumboots

Ive only got a left gumboot remaining.

Lost the right one and that was that was left
