NOTICE: Early Bird registration opened 1 April (no fooling). We can officially start the countdown and hopefully be together sipping some beverages in a few month’s time!

I’m being optimistic on numbers for the weekend- but Qld has possibly half of them confirmed! Don’t miss out by waiting too late. You can always cancel later like some. Also, we’ve got decent pricing for shared accom, or your own if you like, BUT make sure you advise ASAP if you haven’t already. We can’t guarantee we will have the rooms available in a few months.

    UPDATE: Dinner Box paid 1-6

DM me when you are ready to pay- Ill confirm all requests with a price. We also will need to fit in the accom request- so if you have not thus far let me know so Piggy can update his list.

    Hi all,(Piggy)
Got an update from the tour operator that Mads and I have been speaking to today.
The good news is that rooms have been reserved for us. No deposit required just yet, and should covid intervene we will be off the hook even at only 24 hours notice.
The bad news is that the rates have gone up. Jimmy Barnes is playing that weekend in the Hunter and its a very busy time of year.
Here are the rates directly quoted from todays correspondence:
    4 nights (Wed – Sunday)
    $520pp (4 share within a 3 bedroom apartment)
$692pp(single share rooms within a 3 bedroom apartment)
    3 nights (Thu – Sunday)
    $425pp (4 share within a 3 bedroom apartment)
$566pp (single share rooms within a 3 bedroom apartment)
    2 nights (Fri – Sunday)
    $330pp (4 share within a 3 bedroom apartment)
$440pp (single share rooms within a 3 bedroom apartment)

If you book direct with the hotel the price would be around 40% more for that weekend
It is what it is. The accom is first class, but not cheap. At least we would be in the same place as a big group.
If this pushes anybody over the edge and you wish to find your own accom, by all means do so. Just let me know if you go elsewhere.

We will group people as best we can, or let me know your group of 3 or 4 as some have already done. As stated previously, I expect to be asking for deposit money mid-year, and for the whole deal to be cut off shortly after.
    Cheers

Well done in your medalist work, too.

    Hi everyone
Its been a crazy year for most if not all of us- the countdown officially will start for Early Bird reg in a couple weeks – I’m just waiting on Cypress lakes to firm up our tee time format.

Saturday night dinner will now be at the Hunter Valley GC restaurant as many will be staying there. If you are after accom options with the group let me know by PM.

There are heaps of comments in this thread which I won’t be able to go back and weed through. I will reset the updates in a single thread with a daily breakdown- not much has changed price-wise except dinner is a little bit more than last time.

Take care and lets get the countdown underway!

TL:DR: Steady sailing until the back went crack!

Dusting off the rusty swing with 2x range sessions and 1x short game session in the last week had me standing over the ball with only a mild feeling of NFI at Cooly Tweed. Being a low key social round with a small group of professionals for a bit of ‘networking’, it was easy to set simple goals; good PSR every shot, focus on process, execute with commitment.

Playing the River course off the white tees, my 13.9 GA gave me a daily of 13. (Scratch rating of 71 on par 72, slope 119)

And, so the card looks like this:

    6 a 2 (bogey)
    4 a 2 (par)
    3 a 2 (par)
    5 a 2 (bogey)
    7 a wipe (triple)
    6 a 2 (bogey)
    4 a 2 (bogey)
    4 a 3 (par)
    4 a 2 (par)

I made it to the turn with 7 over OTS and 17 pts

    3 a 2 (par)
    6 a 1 (double)
    5 a 2 (bogey)
    5 a 2 (bogey)
    8 a wipe (triple)
    7 a wipe (triple)
    8 a wipe (quad)
    6 a wipe (triple)
    8 a wipe (triple)

heading home, with 20 over OTS, and a mere 7 pts

Can you guess where my lower back went crack?

So, here I am, middle of the night, awake, thanks to the oh to familiar dull ache that is my lower spine.

    Ah, golf hey?

    oh no!! not good
