I was selected unopposedNo hangover – actually stopped drinking well before I went to bed simply because I ate so much I couldn’t fit any more drink in – the food was really good
I usually stop drinking before I go to bed too… Find it way to difficult to drink while sleeping.

So, what prizes did you win?
Were you re-elected?
How was the hangover?

Hack2489ParticipantWhat’s that saying?
“Rush to the course, rush the swing”
Hmmm.
That was me yesterday. Total timing n rythym off for first couple of holes at Robina Woods. 5 over after 3 holes. But, held it at that with a couple of par results for the next 3.
Up n down game was good. Saved me again when I was losing them off the tee or after fat chunked shots in the fairway.
Must allow more time to get to course and warm up!
Nothing worse than rising to the tee!
I try to get to course at least one hour before. Loosen up hit a few shots, chip, and putts
If no time then at least hit a few chips and putts to get feel of gteens.
Do you have a 5minute warm up drill as go to when needed?
My ‘go to’ is similar to you… Get there early, swing into nets or on a range to loosen up shoulders and swing sequence ‘feel’ do some chipping and putting.
Definitely makes a difference for me.
and if you dont have time how do you “warm” up in 5minutes?
Swing a couple of irons to warm up the muscles, then back to one for a ‘feel’, then back to first tee club …
Drop a couple of balls and chip to a distance across the path, tee area, whatever.
Then, stand on tee and not try to over do it.
For the record. I did none of that at Robina Woods.
What’s your approach?

Hack2489ParticipantWell, Toph, I reckon the lessons and practice are paying off for you!
You hit some good steady shots for the 6 holes today to be 2 over for 4 holes .. including the birdie on 4.
We won’t mention the post birdie adrenaline rush!

Hack2489ParticipantOK, I’ll get it started ..
Played Robina Woods (aka Palmer Gold Coast) this afternoon for the first time with Toph. Well, technically, we played 6 holes before it rained, and no-one smart plays golf in the rain, right? Oh, yeah, there was some weather issue too, loud bangs and flashes of light …
Anyway, the course was looking bloody fantastic. Considering the recent lack of rain, it was lush green. They’ve been punching the water into the course. Greens were VERY nice too.
I really like the fallen debris in the rough with plenty of sticks, twigs and leaves to punish for an errant shot.
The course reminded me of Bonville, except the houses are a bit more obvious at Robina Woods.
DEFINITELY have to get a full round in here.

Hack2489ParticipantI’m an absolute hack. FMD. Working on consistent ball striking at the range yesterday and started well. Then absolute rubbish.
Topped off by young gun local, 15yo, playing off 4.5 ATM, snotting 5i 180m. FMD.
In reflection, I think my problem was that I was concentrating on ball strike. So, brain focussed on it and got into a spiral of thinking what not to do….which of course is what I then did.
With extreme low expectations I walked 2 – 7, so 6 holes for only 2 over. Driver was ok again, not in the shit, and then AS generally ok with GIR except the last, the 7th, where I got it fat and put it in the front bunker. Was all sqaure until them with one bogey n one bird. Hmmm, perhaps I though about the score? I suspect I did.
Need to switch off the brain. This mental side stuff is key for me I think. Hmmm.
Back is holding up ok.
