    Very dry.

What’s it costing to keep the greens … green? Must be buying in water?

We have a bore and we can still pump some water from our waterhole in river…….
It is getting really desperate though

I’m quoting to acknowledge because hitting ‘like’ just doesn’t feel right.

    Afternoon

What’s the state of the greens?

Recovering from renovation in late October. Really patchy and still quite rough. Even where there is grass cover it’s still not a smooth roll.

Bit of rain over Christmas n Boxing Day will help a bit. But, there is a lot is patchy areas. They’ll put pins in the better part of the greens, but, long putts or chip n run shots are impacted by the uneven bounce effect.

Even a few tee areas are struggling from renovation. They’ve returfed a couple. The par 3, 6th has had tee area reshaped and returfed and it hasn’t been in play as yet with a temp tee at around 120m. The tee on 7 has been returfed and it’s been playing off the ladies tee.

Are you sticking around post game for the presentation or a beer? If I’m not doing anything I’ll shoot down and have a beer with you. Not sure what the family has planned at this stage.

Can we have a lounge forum please. Why??? because we need somewhere to sit and reflect whilst we manoeuvre between the other threads, PLUS it stops Toph having to one up himself in the Song Title Game thread on ISG and I can’t help him out in there any more. PLUS, PLUS, I like the ability to have a forum with diverse threads that don’t really have a direct impact on golf and it’s foibles.

Isn’t that what the rules sub-forum area is for?

Or, is it Community Business. I get lost.

EDIT: I had type, “I can’t keep up” instead of “I get lost” but with the moderation around here I could see it being changed to “I can’t keep it up” and would be paranoid for months knowing someone around has seen me, ah, struggling.

Nah,, the Rules Forum is for people who don’t really give a shit.

Community Business is close, but we need a 19th hole where all manner of inane crap can be discussed. I mean this is a clubhouse after all.

We did have the pool room but got a bit to steamy in there.

What’s a good title. Lounge. Or the deck or patio?

Whatever you choose would be fine. I like to sit on the balcony and watch the world pass by, it’s that open room with a view. Did you see what I did there???

This all sound like a matter that should have been tabled at the EGM.

But, given said ‘fiduciary deficiencies’ would it be prudent to make it the first L4G ‘poll’?

Perhaps a short list of options upon which votes may be cast?

    The 19th
    19th Hole
    The deck
    The balcony
    The view
    The lounge

Having had to bail after 6 holes on the previous visit, the rest of the course at Robina Woods aka Palmer Gold Coast was looking very good again this afternoon. The first 6 holes were as I remembered.

I enjoyed the course, view and surrounds

Sand was somewhat variable. Couple of quite hard heavy ones, and one in particular (can’t remember the hole) was really soft and light, like sink to your ankles soft.

I wouldn’t want to walk it. Very undulating and some distance between green to next tee in a few spots.

Oh, yeah … the leaf matter and twigs were as I reported previously. Too many visits to the ‘woods’ and in some cases too deep today gave us plenty of opportunity to appreciate first hand.

Would like to go back and play again, but with a much better swing and swing mechanics to hopefully post a decent score.

As our soon to be International Trans Tasman golfer, I’d just like to take full credit for showing you what NOT to do.

Do everything you did on the back nine today and you’ll be bringing home a new car.

You ARE playing for new car, aren’t you?

Well, the conclusion was I needed a beer and a calculator.

But, I’m surprisingly not that disappointed…. I was nursing my lower back for the round after it “locked” and “let go” just as I had picked up Driver to warm up. Irons on the warm up were going great, but after the back “clunk” it was never going to be pretty. I wasn’t going to push it and do damage…

Having been working on using my lower body to drive the swing over the past few weeks, it was a bummer I didn’t get to test it ‘on course’ today.

I really didn’t have feel for short game or putting either. It was just an all round grind, and nothing really came together.

A net 86 OTS was the final tally. Yes, that’s right, NET.

In this modern age of fabulous technology surely you recorded the EGM. A modern outfit would have live streamed it too.
