…………we’re back…..another day closer to working part time.

This may deserve its own thread!

Not sure it would make it past one page? šŸ˜‰

Apparently it kicks off from the week commencing 20th December. Just in time for the 2021 golf season and each part time day will be my golf day with VPGC.

Problem is I lose 2 weeks Accrued Time Off so I will only have 7 weeks leave from now on. Have to manage it given the Nats next year.

Stableford at Green Acres yesterday. (Never played there) A tight tree lined course that needs accuracy off the tee. A low course rating so my GL 9.6 translated to playing off 9 for the day.

    Front 9 – 20 points ( 2 over 38 OTS)
    Back 9 – 18 points ( 5 over 40 OTS)

38 points got me a 3rd in A grade and a NTP. Drove pretty well with about 12 FIR and 10 GIR.

An enjoyable course that I would like to play again.

good score Francie but only 3rd again, seem like its another award for you TBPNTHWAPGD

(The best player never to have won a police golf day)

No…..I’ve had my fair share of wins with the VPGC….

Had the chance to play at Green Acres GC in Kew, Melbourne last week. I’ve never played there before and was interested in seeing how it set up. Just around the corner from the Kew GC it’s set on it’s original location adjacent to the Yarra River. It’s a very tight course that has large trees bordering the fairways making it a tight driving course. This might be ‘offset’ by it’s shortness in length. It’s only rated 124 off the yellow markers and par 71 (I think). It’s a bit up and back course with lots of dams with a few raised greens. It’s more a positioning type of course rather than smashing driver every hole, as there are quite a few holes around 350 – 380 mts in length and some tight dog legs which need you to shape the ball if you go for it.

It’s condition at this time of the year was very good (considering lockdown) but unfortunately just as we hit off they were spreading fine soil on some of the greens around the front nine. The back nine had their greens freshly cut and were a lot smoother/quicker.

The clubhouse was new looking and well appointed. We managed to have a deal which included some finger food which was a good variety and quite nice. I really enjoyed the walk……which wasn’t too hilly or difficult and will definitely go back early next year as our group are going to organise another game before winter. I’m not sure how wet it gets in winter but I suspect a fair bit so a game earlier next year will be great.

“Do yourself a favour”……have a hit there if you can.

?? Not sure what you are getting at?

You obviously never watched the 60’s TV show. 😁

    Ah….Green Acres…..yep watched it….just forgot the character’s names.

Played today … a crappy wipe, a couple of 1 pointers, and 38 points (or 3 or 4 over.)

Loving the Wilson blades, the Wilson putter, the Wilson wedges, and the Cobra Driver and 3W.

Not loving Beacy as a club however …….. My membership up at the home of flog has now run out, and I am awaiting some sort of positive action from the club re covid membership relief, before possibly rejoining.

The board allegedly are awaiting the full financial picture before working out if there is going to be a fee relief for members, seeing as we were about 16 weeks or so without access, (about $500 or so that we paid for not having access to the course)

Some clubs have given a couple of months free extension of membership, some have provided members with rebates, but Beacy are burying their head in the sand and offering fark all, and not even offering a date when a decision will be made.

Beacy meanwhile, put their loans on hold, they also got grants, and the workers got jobkeeper etc.

I originally emailed them about a month or so ago and got the same bullshit response.WTF are they waiting for as they have all the onfo they need as far as I can see.

Meanwhile, I did mention to them, that I may go to a monthly membership (in case I want to leave the joint if I get no satisfaction from this covid ripoff), but get this …….. a “pay monthly” membership exists but you are locked into it for a total of … 12 months, and you pay an extra 10% over and above the full member cost for the privilege …. FFS.

They really are trying to piss the members off, and me in particular it seems. Oh, and today I should also mention I’ve been invited to try out for the pennant team . and pretty much gave them a one fingered salute as a response.

Well enough for today …. I’ll post again when there is something newsworthy to put down ……..

    Wow……drop the mic.

Good to see you are still alive though. šŸ˜‰

Imagine comparing Mick’s voice to a little background noise.

    Ok, point taken.

But some people are a bit too precious when it comes extraneous noises. A mower two holes away, traffic on a nearby road.
A good player can concentrate on the job at hand and switch off to minor distractions.

    Yeah…nah.

I find that some of the “better” players crack the shits at the smallest of noises.

Big shout out to the super-coach.

Ha….that day at Royal Melbourne was funny. šŸ™‚
