CommishParticipantYou have been doing it all wrong all these years Commish!
Never a truer few words spoken, well typed in this case.

CommishParticipantThe “how did you play” threads should be taken out of the”golf course” category. Perhaps a whole new category can be created for these.
fixed moved to Practice Range
I’ve never played a round of golf on the practice range before,,, might have to give it a go. Surely I couldn’t go any worse… Hmmm
CommishParticipantwaiting for the memoirs on “how to become single”
and then ignore it.
Subtle & beautiful.. how do you do it?
I get little tips of Bump, he’s a master.

CommishParticipantWilson re-released a modern version of this classic putter design 50 years later
I’m guessing they didn’t have milled faced putters 50 years ago.
CommishParticipantMount Compass GC (SA). Top course in great condition, love playing here. Off the Blacks which made it a bit tougher.
Started well but fatigue crept into my game and big fade out on the back nine.
On this course, you need to stay on the fairways or risk losing a ball, which I did mostly on the front, coming in with 17 points.
But after going for a big drive on the 10th only to find a fairway bunker, then the scrub which led to a wipe. Next hole, cracked a ripper low drive into the (light) wind only to hit the ground hard with my next shot, causing lots of pain in the wrist. My game went downhill from there.
One of the Par three’s, 201 meters into the light wind, hit driver and put it on the green about 10 feet past !
Lost too many balls on the back nine and came in with 11 points.
Great day with good friends.Best part of all that is the last five words.. Oh alright, I suppose the 17 points on the front 9 is pretty good as well.

CommishParticipantI haven’t hit a bad shot in nearly a month.
That’s OK, every 3rd bad shot I hit until you get back on course, I will gratefully donate to you. So, on average you should have about 5 per round and some of those will be absolute fuckin shockers. I wonder if they will allow me to reflect my kind hearted gesture on the score card?
CommishParticipantI broke 80 for the first time today. I am one happy golfer!
Two steps forward
1) I broke 80
2) I putted really well today
One step back
1) I am still trying to master my new Driver to get consistent fade shots off the tee. They are either not fading, or too much.Well played sir, it seems all your effort is finally paying off. To break 80 is not really a goal of mine as I seriously doubt my golfing/physical capabilities would allow for that achievement, but well done to you fella. I gather your 16.3 handicap is a tad lower by now??
CommishParticipantHow do you hit 8 greens but have 11 chances at an up and down?
Did you spill your beer in the clubhouse after the round?Simple accountants… I mean counting error.

CommishParticipantIf you have watched it, what was it like with no spectators?
Nobody had to yell FOUR!!!!!!!!!
CommishParticipantMaybe we should be doing speed golf. It takes me around 50 minutes to play 18 holes – falls in under the 1 hour of exercise and could keep the golf courses open as long as you live near one. π
as long as only 5k from home?
Sounds like that is no longer an issue…travel limited to the front gate?
That’s only for those who are required to quarantine at home, most awaiting test results, but also if positive. Now, if not found at home when the body checkers call, a $5k fine.
I like the lawyer down there that wants the statute of “Recklessly Endanger Human Life” used against those that breach the isolation conditions on two or more occasions. Carries 20 years. $5k 1st offence, then hit em with the criminal charge 2nd time around. Might keep a few of em at home.

CommishParticipantAn extra 12 months to get the handicap sorted π
Does that mean you will be out to 19 by then??
Probably π
I don’t believe you.
Gotta play (comp) rounds…highly unlikely for a while.
I’ll be a super chopper by then.
Unfortunately there aren’t too many of us over your way to invite you into a comp round to assist you in your endeavours to hit 19. But Dunheved is on every Monday,Wednesday and Friday if you get the inclining for a casual drive. Get in know before the missus goes in for surgery, will be a bit limited after that for a month of so. That is if you are not working, cleaning the house for Deb, or testing golf balls.
CommishParticipantI feel for those of you who are now without the ability to have a hit, well on a golf course at least, for the ensuing 6 weeks. Only hope that things settle down in that period and Premier Dan draws on the fact that he could have opened courses earlier than he did last time safely. Worst part I suppose for you guys is that it all could have been prevented by some individuals doing the right thing in the first place and that systems that were in place were followed and not flouted.
In the mean time, keep safe guys and to you and your families, my thoughts are with you all. Here’s hoping that everyone of you walks out the other side with a continuing clean bill of health.
