Can break 80ParticipantHad a great day today before rain came. watched Happy Gilmore, this morning then played at Grumpys mini golf in Cowes with 9 year old granddaughter had fun round with 41 putts (she had 48 putts so did well)..
This was a good practice round as playing on course proper in Sunny skis on Monday.
Can break 80ParticipantOh, how things are conspiring to keep us at home. I travelled to Hamilton on Monday and now Covid cases have been found on building sites there. Today we were going to visit relatives in St. Arnaud and ditto, Covid is there too.
Such is life (now). I think I need a dose of Vitamin D, not from a bottle.good move as many Leading medical experts are advising that Zinc, Vitamin D and fresh air are excellent ingedients to have to boost ones immune system. High doses of Vitamin C also seem safe and effective methods of maintaining good health.
best source of Vit D is good old sunshine, and body can synthesis this vitamin itself.
just need the cloudy to clear and sun to shine through,. looks like this will be on Monday.
Can break 80ParticipantPolice presence busy checking number plates on Thursday, then just as soon as they arrived they disappeared.
probably back to CBD to stop the builders.
all trades now have 2 weeks off.weather on weekend and next week will be better so holiday makers, already today those with holiday houses sneak down and a few more caravans arrived in the park probably while police are distracted on west gate bridge.
Can break 80ParticipantHigh Wind warning. If you have not had the gales yet, they are coming east.
Thx for sending to us.
we had heavy rain and hail and rough seas, so no fishing this week.
Can break 80ParticipantStab at Warra.
Front nine: although quite windy, it was otherwise pleasant enough but my score was shithouse. One wipe, four 1-points, 2s for the rest. 18 putts with only one 1-putt and a 3-putt. Just 12 points
Back nine: the weather deteriorated with passing squalls but my golf improved. No wipes, only one 1-point, four 3-points. That leaves four 2-points. Four 1-putts, nothing worse than 2 putts. That’s 14 putts, 21 points.
Totals: 32 putts, 33 points. Not a bad finish considering I had 6 more putts than points on the front and the weather was worse on the back.Don’t forget to let us know about the weather in the weather thread
Weather was so bad they cancelled our whale cruise today.
strong winds, rough seas, hail.
we have had it all in regional Vic.
next few days are fine and sunny
Can break 80ParticipantBeen cold and wet here and between travelling around Bass Coast area, we have been baby sitting grandkids so haven’t played since our hit in August.
Had 2 vets games cancelled, due to lock downs and catering number restrictions, because we regard the social interaction after game to be a key part of the enjoyment of vets games.Next vets game is the state championships scheduled for Wangaratta on 4th and 5h of October.
Its so cold and wet today they cancelled our whale cruise and moved to next Monday.
Thursday is 21 and sunny so will play a practice round, with focus on playing a 40 m game and getting down in 3 from 40m.
this should tune my game up. low scoring expectations, but at least I can play and move around freely.-

Can break 80ParticipantRing on Friday? What’s that?
the police seem not to bother to man the check point charlie stops during week.
Lots of cars on road, and vans heading down to their holiday houses today.seems to be that “the ring” is Only on weekends when people head down to watch the penguins or have a surf at beaches. This week end is start of school holidays so suspect the ring will re appear.

Can break 80ParticipantDan has told police to put the ring of steel up again at Lang Lang roundabout, so Not sue OB could get down to Lang Lang even though he is country region.
Nyora. Actually, I could just turn left at that roundabout and take a few back roads. But going via Nyora is simple.
So much for Dans ring of BS in county region.
this morning drove wife to doctor in our old suburb in metro region, On way home all we saw was a sign saying police enforcing CHO directive in regional. No presence at usual roundabout , so we sailed on through ,without a problem. Lots of caravans heading south today obviously to beat the rush and
ring on Friday as melbournians start school holidays and attempt to flee the deadly virus.

Can break 80ParticipantGolf booked for Tuesday. Northern client moved meeting to following week so will play Tuesday at the home of golf.
seems like we need to get in as much golf as we can, lest it be banned.1 user liked this post.

Can break 80ParticipantQuestion….. If regional Victoria is mostly free of Covid and I presume would like to stay that way, but the Greater Metro area of Melbourne is shall we say the more infectious and major contributor to the spreading of the virus, why would your Premier say to those in Greater Melbourne, “Off you go to Regional Victoria and beyond because they need your $$$’s”? Mind you the only beyond is NSW cause all the other borders are closed to Vic from what I can gather. I would have thought there are far more businesses in the Greater Metro area that have or will fold by Xmas than in Regional Vic.
Only say this because some ignorant pricks decided it was alright for them to head off to Regional NSW rather than get caught stuck in Greater Metro Sydney and look what resulted from those little escapades.
No, the metro gnomes are still not allowed of their pen and are still on a 5km leash.
Regional Vics are now allowed to go anywhere in Vic except metro M. They just can’t do anything when they get there. Shops, restaurants, cafes can all open with a max of 10 indoors and 20 outside. No home visits. Outdoor recreation max of 20 pers per venue. A golf course cannot operate like that even if you separated the course from the clubhouse.Dan and his team of advisors have again proved that they are a pack of dickheads.
So he has opened regional Vic up to regional Vics?
regional is open, meaning people can travel around this lovely state and play some of the excellent golf courses on offer.
The catering arrangements or lack of means country golf club houses are somewhat restricted. looks like we will be back to the sausage on bread at half way and at end with beers from an esky probably members will eat in car so dont spill beer on your mask.
We leave Thursday for our next on road grey nomad journey, including a whale cruise. The aim this trip is to get some advantage of membership by playing all the Reciprocal rights course this year (including those courses in Northern Vic and around the Murray and Tura beach in NSW.
If we can get to QLD to see son that is goal1 user liked this post.
Can break 80ParticipantI also struggle with the mandatory mask wearing outside too. If I can’t socially distance near others I put one on, otherwise I don’t. There is no evidence to support mask wearing outside, yet adopted by our government as a visible compliance with ” rules”. Wearing a mask while playing golf solo? Stupid. All it does is wet the mask and make it useless when you might need it .
Like when drinking red wine. really need a dry mask for that
Can break 80ParticipantPlayed Redcliffe today and the course was lovely with the greens especially being very smooth and fast
Off 11 had a 9 over 80 for 38 points to win within our 3 groups
Would have preferred to play that way last week in Club Champs but that’s golf for you!
Drove as well as I ever have and didn’t drop a shot with driver – although could have on 15 but got lucky
Hit a few wayward irons and hybrids which I’ll need to clean up
Chipped ok and putted pretty well
Nice day for it
Pacific next week for round 3 of the club champs but I’m out of contention for those
Pleased to read that some are still enjoying the sun and fresh air
enjoy it in QLD while you can.
Can break 80ParticipantI just heard a bit of Dan’s waffling during a news bulletin.
Something about waiting on numbers early this week to decide whether to open up regional Vic this week or next.
Is he hoping for something greater than zero as an excuse to keep us locked down?hope its next week i have a golf game lined up with an important business client on Thursday 16th in Northern Victoria.
Caravan is loaded up and restocked, just waiting for Dan to say GO to Regional Victoria (and beyond) . they badly / desperately need your support folks, get out there and support the businesses, because they might not (most wont) be there after Christmas.
