    what number were you on the waitlist before you played golf with him?

    You don’t get onto the wait list until you’ve been assessed. First available appointment to get assessed is early July, set last Feb.
    I’m in for surgery on Tues to have a skin cancer cut out. Was assessed by a skin specialist in Feb and details sent to the hospital the same day and marked urgent (category 1). It took more than two months to get an appointment with the hospital, last Wed week. They took a biopsy. Next appointment was last Wed. They confirmed cancer, THEN put me on the urgent list.

    It’s all about list manipulation so things don’t look as bad as they are. Off to get a swab test this morning.

    Didn’t play yesterday. Vets game on Monday. Surgery on Tues.

    Hope your surgery goes well OB and you make a full recovery.

    nice overcast day today slightly cooler at 18 deg, some rai forecast but never had any until later in day.
    golf today at Nanango. while Wife went to the local market..

    nice 9 hole course, they have 2 set of tees to give course variance.
    course completely run by volunteers and in good condition except for grass greens which were slow and sanded making putting anything over 1 m very difficult.
    played very well today hit ball well 4 GIR / 18 putts (inc 2×3 and 2×1 putts), quickly learnt that its better to miss the green and chip rather than be on green with a long putt.
    daily handicap was 6 = comp was only 9 holes for back 9 holes = 41 OTS = score was 15 points
    Toowoomba vets on Monday (weather and rain permitting)

    9 Holes at Mundubbera. Golf Club nice little country course.

    3 x par 4’s 1st = 386m 3 rd 400m 8th 283m
    2x par 5’s 2nd 540 m up hill and 7th 490m uphill.

    greens slow, as are all Qld greens, fairways not closely cut, and pot holes in many, no bunkers. lots of sloping lies. but a well maintained course run by volunteers, and $10 green fees.

    I was a good fun hit on a nice sunny morning. not sure of score as played 2 balls.

    woke this morning to lovely blue sky and the prospect for a 28 deg day.
    so off the Bundaberg GC. what a lovely course to play, and in excellent condition
    Comp was stableford. scored not so good with 24 points,= 12 per side = 91 OTS. The positive from day was manged to play every hole without a wipe or a lost ball.
    Daily handicap was 8
    score line was
    4 pars
    9 bogeys
    5 DB (all on shot holes so 1 pointers).
    37 putts today with 15 x2 putts 1×1 putt and 2×3 putt.
    had a nice day out in lovely sunshine to build up Vit D, met with 3 nice locals and had an enjoyable game.
    moving inland on weekend so will no doubt find another nice country course to play.

    Golf today at Maryborough GC. nice sunny day 23 deg.
    NO FLOODs anywhere, and course has recovered very well from damage

    nice country course while not a long course 5612 m there are with lots of difficult holes in wind and some lake holes.
    31 Points with 2 outs (2 lost balls in water) first comp round for 3 months
    pro standard putting with 27 putts for round, tee shots were good except for 8th where I took wrong line and ended up in water.

    next game, vets event in Bundaberg next week

    How did you go on the wrecker? In case you don’t remember, the par 3 17th hole?

    long par 3 GPS said 177m to flag into a 2 club wind, lucky I hit a straight driver to front edge, chipped to 1.5m and made putt. for a nice 3.
    my playing partner, hit first one OOB. then knocked his provisional on to green and holed putt for a nice 4./2

    The next hole 18th I lost ball in water with second shot.

    also 8th hole is a double water carry, so that might be one thinking of,= poor tee shot on wrong line lost a vision ball to water gods.
    good fun day out with some nice locals.
    off to Bundaberg for next round on Thursday or Friday

    Scratch par? Does this mean you keep track of how many strokes you score over par?

    yes scratch par its just like par comp, but no handicap involved.(its a good one for pennant as it resembles match play
    birdie = +plus
    par = 0
    bogey = minus
    DB= minus
    TB=minus
    the game shows you potential . if you had 3 pars + 11 Bogeys+ 4 DB= 19 over. But with SCR par = minus 15

    Finally arrived in the PRQ ( Peoples Republic of Queensland), to 30 deg days with sunny sky.
    very nice indeed. no masks ,no Covid BS, everyone at the caravan park is nice, petrol is a bit cheaper
    Caravan park has a nice pool which cooled us off after the drive.
    Overall must admit so far it better than home in Virustoria where its cold at moment.

    McIntyre river is too high and flowing too fast to fish today, but found a nice lake in middle of town to try in Morning.
    Golf today at Goondiwindi GC. very nice country course atmosphere.
    par 71 ACR 69 slope 113..Hcap 7 today.
    Goondawindi has 10 holes on front and 8 on back ..
    Think fairway grass and mostly kikuyu, around greens which just grabs the ball on approach shots, came up short at least 5 times until adjusted club and approach shot trajectory,. Not one bunker anywhere on course, but tree lined and several approach shots hit over or around water hazards.

    played one of my favourite games = scratch par: its good because it lets you know where your game is at moment.
    Worst can have is minus 18.. middle tees.
    todays score minus 11 (minus 5 , minus 6) so not a bad result, first look at the course. Irons were not crisp today and left at least 6 shots out there due to poor chipping. On 6 holes it took me 3 shots to get up and down from 20m
    remedy : practice chipping in caravan park.
    sight seeing tomorrow and fishing later in day.
    Possible vets game on Friday, but rain is forecast so will see.

    MM stroke & putting at Beacy.
    Drives were crap, fairways were crap putting was mediocre. 34 putts 24 stab points. Drowned two balls off the tee and had an airy from another tee.
    It was drizzling before we went, should’ve saved my money and gone home.
    But the company was good.

    Beacy? Where is that?

    Cardinia Beaconhills, in Upper Beaconsfield.

    otherwise know as “The home of golf” and venue for the prestigious Beacon hills Classic.

    Golf at Dubbo country club.
    nice course in country. Course is good and has used for Australian PGA tournament last November.
    27 holes complex and played so looked at the 9s and so they play them in different orders at various times and tee positions.

    42, 43, 39 so not a bad days golf.
    driving was good today, nice and straight, iron play a little fat or block right. bunker play reliable
    pitching was Ok to 5 to 10 m from holes.
    only 1 x3 putt for day, on slow greens(just hadn’t been cut due to wet days).
    very enjoyable. day.

    Murray river mini golf.9 holes
    wife 38 me 40 therefore I buy dinner tonight,
    conclusion: Prov’s dont have much back spin on mini golf, nor do they bounce off side walls as well as unknown pink ball.
    mini golf putting is different to normal greens, plus had real sand in bunkers of this course.

    next mini golf round will be as we swing North next week
    next 18 holes, trying to arrange a vets game somewhere in our travels.

    Murray river challenge R1, Berri Country club
    hot day 35 deg (very draining conditions)
    Event Par
    blue, white and red tees.
    start on white tee = if make a plus move back a tee on next hole, if make a minus move forward a tee. make a half stay on same tee.
    good game as each hole presents new challenges and adds to variety of play of holes as we were off different tees on some holes

    overall result
    played 3 holes off blue, 7 off white and 8 off red
    Golf score minus 2 vs Old mate = minus 5
    best result nice meal and bottle of local red in club house after game with the girls
