Can break 80ParticipantAll Melbourne Metro golfers are eagerly awaiting the address, at midday today , from the Commandant to see if we get a remission of our sentence and whether golf be possible again.
Can break 80ParticipantThank you for your encouragements. Every now and then I need a good kick to remind myself to be grateful. Thankful I have beautiful and great friends like you. Love this big family, everyone is special. Hopefully Nats 2021.
I’ve gone and bought an MGI Navigator and just want to get out on the course to “test my skill” in keeping it out of the dams at Southern. 🤣
The Live4Golf tour will also play Growling Frog next year.
Rumour is that the dams at that course also attract electronic buggies2 users liked this post.
Can break 80ParticipantSaturday, Club champs, Semi-Finals.
Three lucky breaks for my opponent in the first 4 holes, saw him out to an early lead.
Stayed just behind till the ninth, lost that one, to turn 2 down.
Downhill from there, to lose on the 14th. He went on to win on Sunday, well played!
My chipping let me down, chuned too many, and hard to recover a shot, we were evenly matched.
My second try at match play, liked it but a different feeling to my normal golf.
Will try again next year.well done good result. be pleased with your self, its also a nice compliment to know that the guy who beat you eventually won.
match paly is the best game and its was the game they originally played all those years ago.
Can break 80Participant91 days since I last played golf.
If lock down continues it will be 128 days total minimum .Already a number of members at my club have lost interest in golf and suspect there are many more in same position leave..
Planning my schedule for next year and looks like cutting game back to focus on around 15 to 18 tournaments. (for financial reasons as well)
Only playing those games and courses that matter to me, rather than routine weekly stfd comps.Sorry to hear that Geoff. That is an interesting point about “many losing interest” in the game.
Habits are changing and new ones forming.
Interest is at a high elsewhere as not much else to do, and a safe sport.
going to try some of the things in your seminar to get the member’s back and happy again.

Can break 80Participant’cause you’re a chopper and can’t put 2 rounds together??
For sure Francie. But we all knew that.
Actually, I’ve been putting numerous crap rounds together, but I suppose that doesn’t count. How do you define a crap round.?
Ask yourself whats causing the crap rounds… which part of game is letting you down
Do you ever practice the part of game which is letting you down at moment, such as chipping or putting (although your putting seems to be be above ISG/ L4G standard) do you practice with an improvement goal in mind.
Even playing a comp round do you focus on your process (not outcome).
I think I concentrate too much on the process when I should just focus on the desired outcome.
Unfortunately all parts of the game let me down. A few poor drives, some duffed or misdirected fairway shots, too many approaches left short and the odd 3-putt. I’m always trying to improve my swing, a tweak here, another there. The end result is some good holes and too many poor holes.Today I had 35 points, 17 out, 18 back in. A wipe or two, at least one 3-putt (maybe 2), some pars and a birdie. Too much variety.
IF Dan ever gives early release for good behaviour from our Covid sentence, Dancer and I will come up to Warra for a game.

Can break 80Participantcan you elaborate on b) aiming putter face right?
so important to check your putter face is square at address, use string drill for this. or go on a SAM putt lab and check it.
September 19, 2020 at 10:41 am in reply to: 10 bad golf swing mistakes high handicappers make #13537
Can break 80ParticipantJust did an interesting webinar on how to lower your golf score by 5 strokes with out changing your swing.
seems most people High handicappers and even mid handicappers when get on course play game of swing where they think the only way to have a good score is stand up to the ball, think about all 10 things you mention above, try to make perfectly executed swing with the right Zen movements and have the club on perfect plane. and only outcome is hit perfect golf shots every hole.
In actual fact they should think about how to have the best score can on the day with the swing you have brought to course with you. If that happens to be a slice 10m wide, that’s it, play with that dont fight it.

Can break 80ParticipantToo wet for golf, or so they said it would be.
Big storm clouds heading our way and just about on us, so I cancelled my booking around 8:00am. Playing partner cancelled his last night. We were promised 20 – 35 mm with constant rain all day. Still waiting for a few drops, would’ve finished by now.Yes, blancmange.
wet all day at my house so even if our lock up sentence had finished this weekend it would be no good as too wet to play anyway.
Can break 80ParticipantSLGC, Stroke, First round of Club Champ’s.
Wrist still giving me problems, Handicap out 4 strokes, My last 20 rounds all up against my Cap. Played off 23.
Reviewing a grip video during the week I realized I had let me grip slip a bit, made an effort to straighten up, it worked!
Pared the first two holes and apart from two bad holes (6 on a par 3 & 8 on a par 5) couldn’t do much wrong.
Drives were mostly off-center hits, on the clubface but still mostly OK. Chips were mostly long..
Came in with a score of 66 to be placed second overall
That’s GOLF You just never know where it’s coming from.good score
Is SLGC out side the prison area.
Thought clubs were not supposed to play competitions at moment.
SLGC is in the deep south of Adelaide SA, Goolwa
Great little town with limited restrictions.
I feel for the Vic’s, stay safe and do the right thing. My bad
what is SLGC an acronym for.
