First round yesterday at Royal Centenary park with Dancer.
Course is fantastic condition and great fun.
    played off red tees.
some good hits, 3×3 putts, didnt keep score somewhere about 90.
Hard to play golf in a mask.
When temp gets over 30 degrees lots of players will drop over from lack of oxygen.

Dancer kept his score he had 95 so would have won OOM the way he played

Dan’s decision today will determine my golf direction and the direction our lifestyle will take for next 12 to 24 months.

The results looks like you might have to give the Lang Lang membership away? Might have to join Cranny?

Sadly looks that way Francie, as DANSWALL looks like being there for some time.
Plenty of options inside 25km. such as Cranbourne, Ranfurlie, Settlers run, Sandhurst Pat river, Centenary park

We might even move down the other side of DANSWALL next year as a good chance the same thing will happen again.

How about you, Southern would be inside your leg rope limit.

Yep….17 ks away but we have to wait a while for the full members to have a go before us. Only allowed 2’s at the moment so a trip up to Beacy might be on the cards?

Beacy on line green fee booking system not showing available tee times.

I think the tide has definitely turned against the politicians now in terms of keeping us locked down for our own good, and even they are finally starting to realise ….. that they’d better let us out soon.

The price Victorians, or rather, Melbournians are paying is way too high to be sustained, or even justified now, when only a select number of the population are seriously at risk.

I think with all the stuff ups along the way those is power were in charge of, eg; cruise ships, hotel fiasco’s, and old folks homes etc, heads should roll, if not now, then at the next election.

I will put my hand up though and say that I thought initially Dan was doing a good job, but these latest bouts of lockdown and subsequent amnesia now have me wishing I was on the electoral roll.

Are you still a member at home of golf, is it inside Dans 20 km limit.
That is assuming we are allowed to walk around parks, with golf clubs and if the golf clubs are still there.

Fair round at Shepparton I just saw on my Twitter feed.

The guy shot 58 OTS and still didn’t win.

Good score, Handicap seem a bit high as Lucas Herbert who plays on European tour is only on + 5.2.

pleased they had time to play instead of running around getting tested for Dans virus.

    Usual stab at Warra today.
I did not play well. 12 out & back for a 24 point total. Two temp greens with the flags planted on fairways didn’t help. A poor excuse because some others had good scores.

Which holes are temporary greens ?
    why?

Oldies’ nine hole at Warra this morning. One 3-point, three 1-point, = 16points.
    Lovely weather for golf.
I do feel sorry for all you Melb prison inmates who aren’t allowed out to play.

Yes today is day 100 of CoviDan’s lockup.

now we look like it might drag out for another 28 days.

Really over it, as are lots of others……

anyone know a fix for rusty clubs

How is the new Wilson blade putter performing on the putting mat.

Its going very nicely thanks Geoffrey. Perhaps one day soon I’ll get to test it out on grass.

I’m starting to tire of playing indoor golf, and am more than ready to test my game back outside in amongst the elements.

For those of us in prison, probably golfing is going to be at least another 4 or 5 weeks away, and then limited play in 2’s until Christmas
mean while country golf continues as normal.
    Nothing makes sense.

    MM at Warra yesterday.
How did I play? Appallingly. I was only just beaten for NAGA by someone called Caleb, probably an eight year old.
    A couple of 3-putts, a 4-putt and a 12 on a par 4. Say no more.

So an adjusted Gross of 104 off 16 =120 was actually even worse if one factors in the 12. really around 125.
    No ….not good.

But I am not being critical as there is a good chance in my first round out from prison I probably wont break 100 either.

out of interest which hole did you have the 12 on.

Not sure about your maths there, CB. 95 nett plus playing ‘cap of 16 =111. But either way it’s shit.
It was hole 16 and by that time I didn’t really care, although I’d just parred 15. 3rd shot rolled nicely onto the green and headed toward the flag, but the wind wouldn’t let it stop and it dropped into the bunker. With a close pin, I tried a nice gentle shot with my Rake wedge. The ball came up nicely but not quite out. Hitler would have been proud of me with two more of those. Three identical shots! So I gave it a bit more for the 4th and it flew the green into yonder rough. A gentle chip back onto the green and the same wind rolled it back into the same bunker. I then used the lob wedge for another two followed by two putts.
Earlier in the round I had some 7s and 8s. So my care factor was 0.

The Rake wedge will be out and my regular sand wedge back in. I should add that there was nothing wrong with the bunker.

Golf link makes adjusted gross score so have to work back soemtimes.

Dont feel really bad as someone at Langy on Saturday had 144 gross off 36 net 108.
next to naga was 134 gross off 36.
there was 8 scores over 110
    3 under 80 gross
    11 under 90 gross
    so yes conditions were tough

    Stab at Warra, great weather. 18 & 17 = 35.
The odd wipe, a couple of 3-putts. Happy with a par on the index-1 hole (just missed the birdie).

Great a 9 point turn around from your last game. and nice par on 13.

with a score of 35 points did you finish in top 15.

So Melbourne metro golfers missed out again. I didn’t expect to be able to go play my home course as it is in Regional Victoria while I live in Melbourne but would have been good to be able to get out somewhere. I went through the exercise of where I could play within a 5km radius.

Not surprisingly I could play Northcote (less than 1km away), although I would have to dodge all the Greenies infesting the fairways at the moment. Lets face it if Darebin council have their way we will be losing another inner Melbourne public course next year. My radius just included Royal Park GC (and interestingly half of the zoo could see the big cats but not the monkeys). The other place I could play is the 3 most South Easterly holes on Northern GC after that I would be screwed.

So if my math is right in the 78.54 square kms around my home there is 21 holes of golf servicing approximately 250000 people and yet they want to close down Northcote.

Like you BB my course is also in regional area so cannot play.
Your comments are about Northcote GC are I think sadly the start of things to come.
on face book page Marrickville golf course in Sydney is dog friendly 24/7 and on Sunday’s hole 1 is closed off from 3.30pm for doggie socialising and drinks!!

Yes BB it is frustrating and more we go through this the more it becomes clear it is becoming less and less about heath but more about politics. This is because the decisions are not making sense. And if it doesn’t make sense its not true.
like why people can walk the course but not play course.?
why a Lawn mower man can come to house, but a pool cleaner cannot.
why you cannot fish in a boat in the middle of the bay or on a river where there is no one around.
