    Stroke at Warra today.
Only played half the holes to my handicap, shame about the others.
    Gross 99 – very gross.

Beautiful conditions, with less wind than yesterday. Fairways have recovered from their winter dormancy and the greens were very slick. We all (in our group) suffered from too many 3-putts.

maybe time to move forward to red tees to increase your confidence in game until you can break 90, sure you will be off 14 but its a good way to get your game back in shape, then go back to the blues when you are breaking 90 regular basis.

Feel like I want to replace my clicgear 3.0… anything other than the new clicgear models worth considering??

Hire your own caddie each week to carry the bag for you.

that way no chance of clubs going in the water and sand, as happens with electronic buggies.

So my Xmas and birthday presents this year is a Mevo + golf sim.
I need to get an impact screen, projector and mat.
Looking for advice. Any recommendations or ideas where to go for recommendations?

You can have a lot of lessons from a golf pro who can see and correct your faults for a lot less than the cost of the high tech gadgets.

    Rascal
Most 9 irons are 44 degrees.
Clubs with a P stamped on the bottom range from 47 to 50 deg

One other question, can I bring my own cart?

You will have to quarantine your cart for 14 days prior to the event and sanitize it by washing it in beer before and after the game

Only if you sanitize it by washing it in beer before and after the game.

An advancement for golf from today.
Cup liners no longer inverted and flags back to normal. Recommended that a gloved hand or towel be used to handle flagsticks. Still no rakes.

There is absolutely no doubt that statistics show that having cup liners helped reduce the spread of Covid to golfers.
It really was scary, how many golfers caught Covid from being on golf course and touching the flag stick and the rakes.

    Q speaking of rakes,
do we need to have rakes in bunkers, the bunkers are after all classed as penalty areas and hazards to be avoided, and some say you play from the lie you get.
you see golfers scull them over green or leave in bunkers just as many times from un raked bunkers as you do from lovely raked bunkers..

Got out of Melbourne yesterday and headed down to Portarlington for a game. Course is in great condition my game not so good. Had a major case of the pull hooks. I reckon I missed the first two par 3’s by 20-30m left of the green. Anyway something that I don’t get to say often is that my putting saved me, only one 3 putt (for par) and numerous 8-10 feet putts holed.

7 over 43 on the front, 6 over 42 on the back. Gave me 85 OTS 74 nett could have been a hell of a lot worse given how I hit the ball.

well done, a respectable score indeed on a different course.
Dont forget the object of the game. its not to hit pretty shots, its to score the lowest number you can write in score box that counts.

Yes – but how often do you get a choice in a comp?

Plus if there are 2 holes beyond your reach I would still play those tees

In response to Hacks suggestion, yes Weeti you should have a choice on which tee you play in competition.
the GA new world handicap system is set up to accommodate players playing from multiple tees in the same competition on same day.
Every tee be it, back, middle and front has a slope rating and your handicap adjusts accordingly, so no reason why cannot play tee which fits your ability.
Clubs are still a bit in dark ages in this matter and hence a bit reluctant to introduce this, or more correctly most members dont know they can play forward or dont want to for macho reasons.
Some progressive clubs have even introduced multiply course combinations ie front 9 off blue, back 9 off red. as a variant for member enjoyment.
XRMan having 3 tees to choose to play from gives you as a player lots of variation in the course and enjoyment in game.

first on course practice games, back at langy after the lock up. Played with Dancer and Rob
course in great condition, we played red tee white tee blue tee game.
started well with a long putt on first for birdie, this got me to the blue tee on 2nd, followed by a 3 putt DB at (put ball above hole no chance) which put me back on red tee on 3rd.stayed there for most of day until nice birdie on 15th
dancer played well and finished his round on red tee, after having 3 outs during day but 3 x 3 pointers saw him moving up and back as round progressed.
    fun game.

greens had been rolled smooth as a pool table so could roll ball nicely over surface. Not super fast but still quick down hill and across slopes.
holed bunker shot at 12th followed by another birdied 15th.
good hitting today and re visited game plan for the hole, .missed 3 greens from inside scoring zone after getting ball there nicely.
partly due to non commitment to shot. work on this aspect next round.

Playing Langy again on Sunday with Wozz which is always fun, and playing centenary park on Tuesday with dancer, Bill Bradman and LI Andrew, should be a fun few days of golf
