Can break 80ParticipantCan and will break 80 = start of 2021= 11.3.
finished 2020 well with 80 OTS at Warragul.
It will be an interesting 2021, We will be homeless for most of the year, but will still be able to focus on golf.
Tournament schedule mapped out and focus will be on playing well in selected key events, with lots of Personal best scores on those courses.
goal for end of year = 7.4 or better.
Can break 80ParticipantHouse sitting this week in San Remo, (been cold and windy).
Played yesterday at Phillip Island in wind and drizzle.started well with 5 pars in first 6 holes. 39 OTS and 20 points on front 9.
back 9 was hard going with all long par 4’s and 3’s playing into a South East 3 club wind. finished with 46 OTS for 14 points
6 pars 11 Bogeys, 1 DB = 85 OTS = 34 points.
Overall pleased with game in tough conditions, greens are slower than used to but still made some good putts. ball striking good and hit every fairway. kept tempo and timing in the windOff to Aussie Golf Ranch tomorrow for what will be a very enjoyable but challenging 9 hole course.
Baby sitting grand kids on Thursday / Friday which will be very enjoyable. Then back to golf at Cape Schanck with plasterer on Sunday and Monday with a business client at the Home of golf= Lang Lang..
Can break 80Participantexcellent choice of course GPJ, welcome to the home of golf, hope you enjoy the golf course and all its challenges

Can break 80Participanthope you are back on course soon as it looks like we might be locked up again with bans on everything being imposed
Can break 80ParticipantStab at Warra today.
Only 3 pars, one wipe, 33 points.
Caught up with CB80 and Dancer who played a few holes behind us and I was still in the lounge when they came in. They both scored better than me. Dancer is now a Warra member.Yes Dancer is a member now. he played well with a Vision grey BOB and had 38 points.
I finally got over my Warragul hoodoo where i haven’t broken 88 and finally had a Personal Best score for course of 80 OTS for 37 points.
so a good finish to the years golf.

Can break 80ParticipantAnd thus 2020 brings to the end an era of the playing of Beacon Hills Invitational Classic, a great event on the ISG/L4G tour .
I for one and probably most players who played in the BHIC, will remember the event for the gala breakfast gathering, rather than the course itself.enjoy your new golfing home GPJ.
Can break 80ParticipantI was out of bed early and teed off at 7:30 It was mild a slightly sunny, with little if any wind at first.
I was trying to play stress fee golf, hitting shots I know I can hit in a effort to keep the ball in play. In essence, club up one club and swing a bit easier.
On hole #1 I aimed at the corner of the dogleg left and hit an easy Driver shot and popped the ball within an 8 i range. I had the distance right but the ball drifted out right, so I was short sided and had a rise to get over. I tried a bump and run with my 5 -Hybrid. I didn’t quite hit it hard enough, but got in the hole with 2 putts. This stress free golf might just work. A bogey on this hole isn’t a bad start.
For the rest of my round I managed to hit the fairway all but 4 times. two left and two right in the light rough, which resulted in one par and three bogeys. Arccos is telling me I need to work on my distance off the tee. I think I will need to get a bit fitter over the next months before I start any speed training though. The old body is groaning a bit of late.
Anyway I was much happier with my 6,7,8 iron approach shots @ 115 m-135 m ( 8 GIR today) and I managed two up and down pars. Approach shots 135-165 m were not so good today, where my SL hybrids were going left.
Chipping went well today, getting closer to the pin, hence the better putting numbers. I am getting confident with my 60 and 56 CBX2 wedges, rather than always coming in low with an 8 i, PW. I was running past the pin a lot when short sided.
The putter was on song for all but two holes. One of the three putt hole was a brain fart, tap in putt that turned more than a Shane Warne flipper. 33 putts ( 5 by one, 11 by two and two by 3)
2 birdies, 8 pars, 7 bogies, one double for 79. How I wish I could do this in a competition round!!
awesome golf to end 2020. All goes well hope you can convert your practice round form into a comp round in 2021.
Can break 80Participanthave a great Christmas XRMAN and hope that 2021 will be a better golfing year.
Can break 80ParticipantLang Lang Saturday. 27 points . consisted of 4 par, 6 bogeys and 8 doubles. 34 shots to get ball inside 100m. 56 more to get ball in hole from there. greens were good course excellent. work on short game needed over Christmas break.
Sunday played in the PGA Super 6 amateur qualifying at Warragul. course in good conditions and greens were nice to putt on.
91 OTS net 81..
4 pars, 8 bogeys 6 DB. process good ,a few bad bounces sideways from middle of fairway. putting inconsistent 38 putts.
34 shots to get inside 100m. then 57 to get ball in hole.
The games showed me how I need to better prepare for events, hitting a medium bucket of balls on range on Friday afternoon, gave me the result I got.
These were my last competitive game for 2020, which has been a poor year all round business wise and golf wise. In process of moving house, so no practice until mid January. Game schedule for next year prepared and will be more focussed for first event at end of January.1 user liked this post.
Can break 80ParticipantI did notice that is was “Rozzer Day” on the timesheets when I booked in for the twilight comp.
Fairways are very good. Rough on most holes is cut short after first cut.
Some work on the green fringes on some holes and the greens are not as quick as they could be.
You should be good for 40pts off The White Tees FrancieWell Micky…..you must be Nostradamus…..had 41 points (74 OTS) playing off 7. 😉
great round Francie.
Tell us.
was 41 points good enough to win the comp.
Can break 80ParticipantVeterans’ golf resumed today, conveniently playing stab at Drouin. Drouin is somewhat longer than Warra with a heap of par5s and long par4s.
Shotgun start from the 6th, I had three 1-point and a 2 point on the front. Back nine had a wipe and some 1s but enough 3-points to garner 17 points. Returning to the front I had a 4-point birdie on the 1st but also a wipe and too many 1-points for another 15.Total: 32 points.
Second in A grade was 37 points which suggests it might have been a bit tough out there, with showers rolling through. But C grade was led by two players with 46 points. The course was in excellent condition although I found the greens a bit slow.
Back to Warra tomorrow.
we will have to better line up the Vets games so I can come and play some West events, the venues which are closer than some of the South ones.

currently taking members.Hi Geoffrey,
A quick one for you ……. what are the comp days for Langy?
At the moment with my work roster, I’ve got Tuesdays and then rotating Saturdays and Sundays in which to play comp.
comps are Tuesdays and Saturdays.
No comp on a Sunday,
Can break 80Participantfun day today at langy with little man and dazzle.(first game in over 12 months)
wind blowing but greens softened a bit after rain overnight so not usual speed.
game was good overall round today in wind, as I punched drivers low under tree line and kept ball in play all day. found a couple of bunkers but got out no problems.
solid finish with 5 GIR and 5 pars from 14 to 18, but Little man won the day.Playing at Leongatha tomorrow in vets final day. I always go well here. course is on sand so dry. Its an Ambrose so will be lots of fun will try out the new vision prototype which has been sitting in box since lock down.

currently taking members. What other types of putters would suit the greens there?
I’m wondering what type of putter it doesn’t suit?
And what type of greens don’t suit a blade?
Opened up a whole new factor ibe never thought of
for me slow on flatish winter greens I might switch to a slightly heavier mallet putter style. and harder ball
fast summer greens with lots of slope = softer ball and a blade, cause can hit off toe or heel to help with pace control down hill.

Can break 80.
Can break 80ParticipantMM stroke at Warra today.
Except for one hole, I pIayed reasonably. One par, three doubles, one Bo Derek. The 5th hole is a short, level par4 with no bunkers. But there’s a road down the left side and a gully along the right side. My first drive went nicely up the left side but my ball took a sharp bounce left and through the fence OOB. Second drive repeated the first, bouncing through the fence. Third drive was deliberately pushed right but nestled against the trunk of a huge cypress with the only option being a chip onto the fairway, for 6. Hit up the fairway for 7, on for 8 and two putts.
Nett 80.
The 5th is indeed a tough hole and only 330 ish m in length = So 6I off tee, 9 I short, chip on take your 5. look happy
