Can break 80ParticipantBusy for you or in general? Your retired!!
I have some interest, but March is a busy time.
I would be interested,
Old Bogey just so you know Yarrawonga also has a pensioners rate, but both courses at Yarrawonga with GreenFees around $60 makes it a more attractive option than some of the more expensive courses in past.
Can break 80ParticipantPerhaps he didn’t take a radio or tv with them.

Regional Vic out of lockdown but still some restrictions.
Metro-gnomes still in full lockdown, new cases around a dozen per day.

Biden – apparently

Can break 80ParticipantWe noticed that on drive down to Surf coast this morning, lots of water in paddocks and very flooded swollen rivers..
next few days are going to be fine, but most of courses seem closed, due to flooding.Interesting that you found a way around the lockdown.. Can you share the secret??🤦♂️
We have a rural PO box as our address so can travel safely around regional Victoria
left our P.O box last Tuesday and was in Geelong on Thursday when we heard from other people at park that Comandant Dan announced lock down at 8.00pm
packed up van moved to Warnambool for 7 day.We figure the best way to be safe from the “virus”is to turn our phones off and have limited internet access to channel 7 & 9 news.
anyway its opening up down here over next few days so will get some games in if courses dry out.
hope to catch up with XR man on Saturday or Sunday for a game a Portland-

Can break 80Participant39 putts on Warnambool seaside mini golf today,
The twisty sand hole into wind gave me a double bogey
should have used my putter instead of the game room one..
Back for another game tomorrow
Can break 80ParticipantWell it is official. Our rainfall for July was the highest for the last 100 years!
Little wonder it is wet on the course.funny isnt it, 3 years ago all the whacko’s were saying it was never going to rain again and yet we have had lots of rain,

Can break 80Participanthere we go again…..
No, you won’t be going anywhere !
I was intending to play in a golf wekend away from next Friday, but not knowing until Thursday whether that can proceed is too late, and probably won’t be allowed anyway.
On contrary we are going somewhere,. we are on road spend 2 nights in Geelong and have just arrived in Warnambool for 3 to 4 days. nice weather down here.
lots to do here walks along beach, fishing, whale watching, walking dogs at park.
I went to the course, but was told the course is closed, assume they are doing renovations to the fairways or the fairways are flooded as Its unusual for Warnambool to close.
have to try Port fairy on Monday. hoping to get to Portland and have a game with XRman. see how we go.

Can break 80ParticipantAfter a bit of a frustrating session yesterday , I decided to try again this morning. The sun is shining and a moderate northerly is blowing, but the course is still very wet. So are my socks too!
The objective of the session was to see if I could get a better result with faded tee shot with the shorter Nike Driver. set up for fade( 2W)
Hole 1 I hit the Tee shot with the Cleveland Driver 45.5 inch shaft set up for a Draw shot ( 1W) and rather than try to cut the corner( high risk) I tried to hit to the outside of the dogleg where there is no trouble. With a head wind I didn’t think I would reach the right rough, but I did. Learning from last round I hit a 4H shot and kept the ball in play, chipped on and two putts for a Bogey.
Hole 2 I tried the 2w with a slightly upward swing and got a straight-ish 170m shot. It went to the outside of the left dog leg and I had a clear shot at the green. That was a good outcome. I tried a faded 7W shot approach and it was short of the green just. Bogey again.
Hole 3 I used the 1W into the wind and the ball went 176m and finished in the left rough. I zigzagged down the fairway hitting a 4W and a 3H 3/4 approach shot to end just above the pin in the semi rough. My LW chip went too far. The lag putt was good back up the hill. Bogey agian.
Hole 4 and I saw a much better 2W shot off the tee that went parallel to the left side trees and fades slightly . It went 174m and gave me an 8 i shot into the green and one putt for a birdie result.
Hole 5 the 2W faded a bit more, but still gave me an easy chip on for a par.
Hole 6 I hit into the wind and manged to clip a tree on the left side. I hit a nice faded 7W onto the green and two putted for par.
Hole 7 I hit the 1W 187 m with a left side wind and finished right side rough. I faded a 3H back onto the fairway, the hit a 6H to the back of the green. This time it went a bit too far, so I had a chip and putt back for a par.
Hole 8 I hit my 8i off the tee a bit right and long. The I managed a PW chip that hit the verge and stopped dead in the soft conditions. Darn should have chosen the 9 iron for a bit more roll? Double bogey 5.
Hole 9 and I hit the 2W a staggering 197m with the wind behind me. Wow.
Hole 10. I hit the 2W to the centre of the fairway despite a wind pushing it left.Overall I am confident that the 2W makes sense at this time of year to replace the 4W.
Hope course dries out soon.
going to be down your way later this week. I will give you a call if golf is allowed by my tour manager.
Can break 80ParticipantShould I assume that next weekend’s round isn’t going ahead?
No the committee has decided to cancel this game.
next one is down for Friday 24th September at Moonah Legends.(daniel Andrews holiday)
Can break 80ParticipantNOTICE:
Unfortunately with the extended lockdown, and subsequent uncertainty on border restrictions, we will once again have to cancel this year’s National event and move to next year. Ill load updates and venues etc once confirmed. If you have paid me a deposit ill start working on refunds in the next couple of weeks once I get organised. Im happy to hold till next year as well if that works better.
Lucky 3 for next year!
Sad Miadam that we cannot all get together. It might be better to re schedule until 2026 at least. That will give the states time to work out what the hell they are doing.
Victorian State election next year 2022 and Dan looks like he be voted back in for another 4 year with a massive majority, so we will continue to have lock downs every winter until 2026.Other option Madam is to make the event in Summer time ,Jan /Feb when loss Ronas are lurking around.
Can break 80Participantplayed at the new home of golf today in lovely weather. Course got some rain yesterday morning, but today the course was dry, greens a little soft, as some indents, but easily fixed, but overall the course still played well, so a big field on Saturday might chop it up a bit. carts allowed.
Can break 80ParticipantHamilton Vets sand scrapes championships have been cancelled. what a pity CB80.
I spent this morning mowing grass ( got slightly warm) then a few hours on a roof replacing fascia boards. I was frozen by the time we called it quits, almost as cold as my second last game at Hamilton Parklands course.
Hi XRrman
thanks for the notification, there is still the country championships in Jubilee in October. We have van all packed and ready to go, and planning on coming down your way in next few weeks, on way to wifes relatives in Mt Gambier (assuming common sense prevails with our premiers and we can get over to SA).
If so would you be up for a game at Portland, and can work our travel schedule around this.

Can break 80Participantall we can do is practice our shot games indoors or chip in back yard, until we are allowed back to golf
Can break 80ParticipantI have decided to grade my games as follows.
A grade= 78-82
B grade= 83-87
C grade= 88-92
D grade= >93Today I wobbled around the soggy course on a roller coaster ride. 7 pars, 5 bogeys and 6 doubles. The peak of the ride was mid -way , when I hit a few pars in a row. That was followed by three doubles when I hooked the tee shots into the trees. I hit 5/14 fairways, once I stopped trying to knock the cover off the ball. I hit 4 GIR and 5 up and downs. 31 putts with the Arm Lock putter. I sunk two from a long way out.
Two steps forward
1) Once I got used to using more loft on my chips to get the ball on the green, it put less pressure on the putter.
2) I felt comfortable with the Wilson Infinity half way putter. One Step back
Wildly erratic with the Driver today. It got better as the game progressed. Arccos rated me at 30+ handicapper for tee shots today. Approach 19, Short game 10, putting +5.OTS 44/46 =90 which is a C grade game.

Like the grading system. I use a similar one but based on 1 or 2 standard deviations.
At moment my average score is 83.5 with a SD = 3.1. giving me scores from 80 to 87 as std range
2SD = 90 at top end.
Then feel contented with range of scores
It also allows me to compare my score at home club with scores away.
At moment scores away from my home club are better than at home, however my home course is more difficult than others. -
