MadamKeymasterDepends, is the fridge in the garage?
Anyone good at herding cats or training one to get me another beer from the fridge?
MadamKeymasterHow Long are you closed?
Yes, yes they are.I got my email from Howlong saying they’ve closed everything. So it looks like another year will go by without me seeing my home course that’s going to be a really long time now.
And it’s been about 7 weeks since my last hit, that too is a long time
“Not Long” till the next hit! How long till Howlong?

MadamKeymasterIf this event goes ahead and you were contemplating the Tuesday game at Terrey Hills, let me tell you it is a must play venue.
Had a round there yesterday arvo, have played it a few times before, last game was just over 4 years ago.
It is a magnificent layout..I haven’t played Bonville in many years but the feel/style is sort of similar, maybe a Robina Woods feel as well, pretty much every hole is isolated, very few that you can spray to another fairway.
Fairways were lush, greens very soft so stopping the ball is quite easy and they are lightning fast.
Do yourself a favour and sign up for this game, a great way to finish the Nationals after the Monday game at Elanora.
That will be interesting… booking is for 16 and we already have 18 listed as playing on the day AND I would think that those 18 will be at the Nats if if goes ahead. But I am sure Mads will negotiate an increase if required.
You are right tho Barenski, Terrey Hills is a cracking course which brings the long hitters who may be a tad wayward back to the field.
Yeah PPanda mentioned that to me as well. Ill request an increase to 24 at some point – but will wait for things to stabilise first.

The images I’ve seen online look great.

MadamKeymasterAt moment some conflicting advice on “clubs” being able to continue with golf activities as the liquor license covers the entire property. It depends on what type of liquor license you have and it can vary a little from state to state.
If it goes ahead as having to be closed then golf is off the table for most venues!
GA will make advice known today.
That would be dependant on the licencing laws of each State. In NSW I think most clubs trade under a “Club Licence” which allows them to sell on and off premises. Don’t know if the other States are the same, but if the sale of alcohol was not forming part of the business whilst it was open for trade, ie for the purpose of golfing only, then the course would not need to close. The Pro Shop would however not be permitted to sell alcohol as is the case at a lot of courses. I think that is the case but I may have got it wrong.
Thanks Commish
How each state interprets the licensing law is what is being decided at moment and will be a huge impact on the industry and even more employment lost, clubs going under if they need to shut down.
With more state borders being shut down – ie 14day isolation in Qld now as most states, its very probable that even leaving the house at some point for any nonessential will be mandated.

MadamKeymasterIf we have to self isolate… Wtf are we going to watch?
Not sure but there is predicted to be a big boom in babies in Dec, Jan, Feb next year
For some of us- some no chance!

MadamKeymasterSo a few weeks off due to some work stuff and back to it today. Back on the coach gameplan to try and get my 40 points, and I managed 41. So that was great. And there was a hitler and a fed ex in there and a couple of three putts.
Really was hitting the ball well today and managed to pull it all together. The driver was great (except for one bad drive but I remembered to take my medicine rather than being a hero and walked off with a bogey). That bogey meant that I played the par 5s in 1 over, so just missed out on coach’s plan. Despite the couple of three putts, my putting was pretty good – could definitely see the benefit of the work on the technique mats at Golf Studio. 33 putts for the day which is above the 30 I am aiming for but not unhappy with that return.
The ball striking was the help though – 5 GIR and a bunch of times was pin high or thereabouts. Hit the green on the 1 ranked hole and three putted to still walk off with 3 points. So those holes are nice. And was in range on some holes which I have never been before. Coming into par 5s with wedges is fun.
And the tale of the tape was 86 off the bat, which is easily my best round of the last 12 months and I think my second best round ever. Using coaches gameplan meant that I wasn’t obsessing about the score because I still had tasks to accomplish (we have three par 5s in a row at the end of our round).
Well done!

This is not only NOT about golf…I’m not sure it’s in a recognised language.
Yeet?
βYeetβ first appeared in 2014. Back then, it was used as a noun to describe a dance move that went viral that year. According to Urban Dictionary, βyeetβ as a verb means: βTo make a violent motion of any variety, such as a ‘whip,’ or any motion that may be associated with violent camera shake or photo blur.β
MadamKeymasterRumor confirmed. Covid-19 impact at the caddies school … mother of a yr12 student got it from a confirmed case. I understand there is a few days between, when mother and case had contact and when case got the news, so mother has been infecting her kids, house, friends, etc. and kids have taken it to to school.
We’re still ok, mild symptoms. Caddie is no just fatigue and headache. Mine is still mild sore throat, headache and fatigue however my glands in neck, and neck, very tight and sore today.
take care of your self Hack

MadamKeymasterGood thing is that I can cancel at any time if great bargains pop up
It’s also possible that if the shackles come off in Oz but international travel remains risky that people will flood out for holidays locally and prices will head up so we will see
Easy to cancel if I need to
I think we are still adjusting to the new “norm” and live will continue on. Air travel is still relatively safe, though depends on who you sit next too. Take a window seat is the safest sport but dont lick the glass!
People will want to get out as safe as possible and will travel locally.
There’s a lot of economic and financial disruption spreading … I doubt the majority of people will have $$$ to afford to travel.
SO many businesses telling staff they’ll be off on unpaid leave once any annual leave us used up. I’ve know of:
– mid size Accounting firm in Brisbane closing at end of this week until 30 June.
– private school told teachers yesterday they only have money for two more pay periods because people have stopped paying school fees.
– several large construction companies looking at appointment of administrator, not paying sunnies because developer has not paid them.
– retail businesses looking to close up. Trading was already tough and they are behind on rent. Landlords sending default notices, so shops looking to close up and walk away.
– cafe’s, restaurants and clubs with big drops in customers even before the new 100 person limits. Staff hours being slashed and or people just not getting shifts.
– couple of events hire businesses and catering businesses in big trouble after events cancelled. Being sued by suppliers but event not paying them because it was cancelled.
If you saw the health management charts to flatten the curve, you’ll see they have peak in August. We got a long way to go and a lot of people, businesses, just don’t have the cash to trade through.
Don’t mean to be doom and gloom, but, reality is hitting bloody hard out there. That’s before the impact of the health crisis even hits us.
Totally appreciate what is happening and it will get worse before better. It’s too early for us to pull the pin on this event and add to the above issues continuing. There are employees at teh venues we are playing taht if all events pulled out now- will be impacted.
We need to keep things as ‘normal’ as possible for the time being, let people having something positive to look forward to (hopefully not positive for the virus!) and the committee will review status as we get closer or for when people would need to commit. I would say this is the July timeframe at earliest but we are monitoring status each day and will decide when time is right. Airlines may be shut by then or lack flights etc.
If circumstances are still volatile and group gatherings still a no go or the group members decide they dont want to attend we will have no choice on the decision.
Outside of some paying for flights already there are no other payment commitments before 31 July ie Early Bird
PS I used to have a clause in the T/C’s on the former site that anyone that is not registered to play in this event cant comment about the event. I may need to reimpose that!;)
