    Hi Everyone
Hope your golfing has been great and not washed out too often.

I just wanted to check which charity we decided to donate too as I can’t recall and wanted to let Paul’s mum know.

    Have a great day

    Afternoon all,

After catching up with some of the well known knobs from this place for pizza last night I realised I hadn’t posted on this site for years. So this post is for me to say hello, and for you to relate what a good bloke I am, how incredibly handsome and well hung I may also be, and to invite me to come and play an elite golf course at genuine 1970s prices.

    Snappy mcSnappy??

Welcome back ask Goldy to add you to the F/B private group not many in here anymore.

Congratulations to all winners over the weekend, the weather not kind to you so well done!

It was so lovely to catch up with everyone for dinner on Saturday and then again for lunch on Sunday. Thank you for the invite and your hospitality I enjoyed it immensely. I had chats with most of you and had the pleasure of Peppas, Thuy, Schmuck and Greywolfe’s company so again thank you.

A few faces that I missed catching up with but know there will be another time. Madam of course – what a fantastic job you have done over the years bringing this all together you will be missed but hopefully you will be able to make it to some of the events. Congratulations on your new venture x Maxxon we will catch up again one day x Kiwi no words needed here x Then we have my western NSW friends PMG and my FB chatting buddy Peg x Hope all of you gents are well and getting in some fabulous golfing days.

It was an honour to be invited and I felt immensely proud to be a part of the inaugural Live4Golf Nationals.

    Take care everyone
    Chris

Well finally, after 3 attempts, the inorg…inargr…the first Live4Golf Nationals have at last been completed. Thank you to all who took part, especially our new players. I hope you enjoyed the experience…it’s more than just about the games of golf. Most of us see each other just this once a year and, to me anyway, it’s like a yearly family reunion…3 years in this case.

Congratulations to all the winners of the various days and big congrats to our National Champion Geoff A (you need to come up with a better handle!). A very consistent performance…one question begs asking though…representing QLD in SOO when you are originally from NSW???? 😛

The weather gods weren’t exactly kind to us, like most of the year really, but getting 5 of the 6 days in was probably better than most expected. For what it’s worth Cypress Lakes (very appropriately named) should not have been open for play, that first 9 was ridiculous.

I was massively disappointed that we were unable to play “my home track”, Elanora. After years of planning we got soooo close but, whilst it would have been better than most, I wanted you all to experience it at its near best. That would not have been the case if we had played on Monday. I did however manage to snag Francie a game there Tuesday afternoon after our Terrey Hills round. No carts so we took pull buggies, quite hard work after 18 holes earlier. Ok Snorkelguru, I have to agree that ECC would be a tougher walk than Terrey Hills 😛 We got 5 holes in before the lightning siren went off…20 mins later we were back on course and we had the place to ourselves, not one other player was sighted for the rest of our 13 holes!

The Brass Yacht Challenge was run for the first time in 3 years and in the end it was a convincing win to myself, 121pts to 100pts…poor Francie just couldn’t string a round together. I truly felt sorry for him, nobody deserves such a trouncing! 😛 Mind you, by this time next year the tables could well and truly be turned after I lost .4 over the weekend to drop to 13 and Francie has gone from starting at 8.5 to 10.5! We’ll be pretty even I think.

I would like to send a massive thanks to our organising team, Goldy, Weeti, Piggy and fearless leader, Madam. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to give great assistance in the couple of weeks leading up to the Nationals so I really appreciate their efforts to make this event a success. As was announced at the dinner on Saturday night, Madam will be stepping away from setting up this event after 2023 in the ACT. Whilst it will be a massive loss for us, it is totally understandable that priorities have take place. Madam has worked his butt of since our first event back in 2012, I’m pretty sure he had a full head of hair then. His efforts over that time have not gone unnoticed an I’m confident that the state groups can keep the L4G Nationals running well into the future

    Thank you Mike!

Hopefully everyone had a good uneventful run home…I just wait right here 😉 …and arrived safely.

See ya all in the ACT 2023!

    Cheers

    STILL FUCKING CAPTAIN

PS: For those interested, I am planning to organise a return to Elanora in the new year,,,stay tuned.

Thanks B for the great wrap up.

The memories created in the crap conditions Im sure will be talked about for years to come!

    Cheers
    Mike

Quick stop to check-in and see what you’ve all been up to and well, it’s feeling a tad like tumbleweeds in here.

WTF is going on? Where is everyone?

Anyway, my golfing journey has continued to crawl to a halt due to the ongoing lower back issues. Very rarely pick up the clubs these days, and with my previous less than full competition golf calendar the GA hasn’t had many entries.

Last competitive round was the Ocean Shore ProAm for a bit of professional networking with work associates. Our group was paired with a young lad from Lennox Head who was a very mellow with the appearance of a tradie / surfer.

A few practice sessions in the week leading up had my swing dusted off, and a bit of feel for the short game. So with low expectations, I set out to play steady shot by shot golf, and walked off with 88 OTS, for a played to of 13 (slope rated 139, par 73 with a +1 daily difficulty) which has squeezed .2 off the GA and has me now at 13.7

    Haven’t swung a club since.

One of my clients is recovering from heart surgery, and so we’ve planned to meet at the course rather than office so he can get some walking in between a few light swings. So, I may have more to report in coming weeks.

    Take care.

    Hack.

Hey hack good to hear from you. yes not many on here anymore most on Messenger ro Whats app groups nowadays.

We are at nationals Hunter Valley/Sydney next month for a group catch up see the other thread
