Hack2489ParticipantI need to play comp golf to have a chance! Maybe in February at this point.
That’d be my problem too!
Maybe? We need to enter our social Friday afternoon rounds. Even a few 9 hole scores would make it change.

Hack2489ParticipantDropping this here for my own future reference.
Oh, yeah, and some others around here (@Commish I’m looking at you.) may benefit from it too!

Hack2489ParticipantHad a chance to play last week in a corporate day- South course.
Some really course strategy needed. Love to play again knowing what I know now.
Anyone else play there yet?
So what’s the layout like?
Tell us about it… Here:

Looking forward to getting back there in September 2020
If you’re a regular there, maybe you can have a word to the greens staff?

Hack2489ParticipantBit of background…
At key times I reflect on how fucking lucky we are … Roof over our heads, food on the table, heck even money for golf and surfboards, boats and “stuff”…
I try to impart a sense of respect and relevance to my caddie. I try to get her to understand the sacrifice others have made for us to have the “free” life we do … And how important it is we keep it (that’s another story).
So, I just played her this song and made her listen to the lyrics. We’ve just discussed what happened, the impact on those who went off to fight, and just how close Australia was to being invaded.
Bit solemn, but, this song makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

Hack2489ParticipantA new belt.
It’s an Under Armour one that is reversible, sort of navy on one side and sort of grey on the other.
I will definitely be wearing it on the 2nd and also on February 9th.Do you have the pants and shirt to suit?
Or
Is there a shopping trip planned?

Hack2489ParticipantOk, I’m on a roll…
Just saw this on the news.
When Gavin Sumner, 11, wrote his Christmas wish list last year for Santa, there wasn’t much on it. He had one very special request: new hands.

Hack2489ParticipantHere’s one I stumbled upon…
In the current ‘migrant’ immigration drama, this story is pretty cool, IMHO.
Sure, it’s a bit historical, but… Plenty of good news and motivation for the current migrants and their peers… Heck, probably good kick in the pants for a lot of us!
When Tony Bernardi stepped off the boat to Australia in 1955, the 17-year-old Italian had nothing but a few pounds in his pocket and some very big dreams.
Today, the 81-year-old oversees a supermarket empire spanning six stores and employs 500 people.
But for Mr Bernardi, success was a decades-long, uphill climb…

Hack2489ParticipantFor those following along at home, Ocean Shores off the blue (back markers) is rated a slope of 138 with Scratch Rating of 74 (par 72).
The Blues are my benchmark for measuring my performance. Goal is to play to a daily of 9, but, in my mind it’s a round based off Par, so wanting to break 80.
Then doing it consistently.
Short game is OK for it.
Driver and long irons need work.
I also need consistent ball striking for getting GIR where possible to give me buffer for the longer holes.
The new clubs, 718 AP2 I picked up off a mate for a good price are showing me a few things:
– my left miss has gone,
– I can get good distance,
– I’m very inconsistent with strike pattern. So, need a lesson to get a repeatable strike.
Example. 7 iron.
Miss hits, toe or thin carry about 135m. Solid contact centre strike, carry 140m. An odd solid flyer is 150m.
Dispersion can be left it right. Left is close miss at 5-20m, right can be 40m off at times.
I also still get chunky fat shots.
Lesson time!

Hack2489ParticipantWasn’t really going to bother – it’s all ugliness especially the short game
47 front 48 back – tried 2 attempted to draw driver ofd the tee on 16 and 18 and both cost me 2 shots – otherwise wouldn’t have been too bad on the back – still only had 1 par same as the front
Only GIR the whole round was the 1st – which was followed by a 3 putt including my first ever knee high bounce putt
Was just a bit off and paid the price because my up and downs were not good enough – only made 3
4 3 putts
Not much good news really
I see the DSR came it at its Scratch Rating too.

Hack2489ParticipantNow that ‘the deck’ aka the 19th is open, I’m wondering if a few threads might be better moved into that area?
For example:
The L4G plot twist?

Daylight Savings risks?
Fun on a golf course? All I want for Christmas is some rain?
