18pts at the Frog. Couldn’t get anything really going, 9 wipes and as many balls lost.
Great company though….Got you covered bro… 17 pts for the inaug NSW OOM but with only 2 balls finding the H2O. Totally agree with the rest of your post. Ditto for me. What would have helped was “More Beer” but due to the distance to drive home and being a totally law abiding citizen, I had to refrain until post round.
Overall, I had a ball. Well not really, thoroughly enjoyed being with the group, but the golf was SHIT!!!!!
Saw ‘our’ Bruce doing on camera post rounds today. Pity Ryan Fox will miss the weekend.
Bit disappointed with the coverage, basically only showing hole #7 @ Hills & 17/18 @ Millbrook. Can someone lend sky a few cams?

It was great to catch up with some old faces (some of them are looking markedly older) and meet once again a few faces from the past. It was exceptionally gratifying to see the mystique that is THE BEARD venture out for a round. One can only hope that the physical impairments that have held back his playing of a game that I know he used to love, can at least allow him to just enjoy a game a couple of times a year with the L4G group. His presence would be enormous. A big thanks to Patrick (Pyl) for the invitation down to the Illawarra and hosting the first venture for L4GNSW and our inaug… yeah that thing, OOM round under the new format as adopted by our Nth & Sth brethren.
To our Fuckin Captain Barenski, thanks for all you do in getting things organised and trying ever so hard to increase the numbers that attend.
I said it today and I say it again… You and Deb may actually like the venue in a few years time as well.A big thanks to my playing group of Sid, (Snorkel) Michael, (Greywolfe) and Patrick (Pyl) for your company and for putting up with the absolute shit that I tried to call golf today. My game was not just bad…. it was embarrasing. Unless Iron Mick comes and plays in some NSWL4G games, I am destined for the NAGA/TROG 2020. Actually, I don’t really mean that Mick, you have improved, but my game was like yours 3 years ago. Apart from the awesome company today… I should have stayed in bed.
Lastly I would like to say for anybody that is a part of the L4G community and lives in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Sydney. This is a great bunch of blokes that come together for nothing more than the enjoyment of each others company and a round of golf, no matter how good or bad it may be. As was witnessed by my round today. (Mind you there were some other shockers that can be evidenced by the scores posted above) I do believe that Farken Capt Barenski will endeavour to have our OOM merit games played in a Sunday comp round at venues as yet to be decided. (venues mentioned today were Oatlands and Brighton Lakes as a couple of possibles) Do yourself a favour… come and join us. The bigger we become, the stronger the bond between us. We all have competing priorities and that is understood, but our games and venues are advertised well in advance, so I would encourage you to at least consider coming along for one game… who knows, you may just get hooked like the rest of us.
If travel is you concern… consider this. The vast majority of those that attended today travelled more than 1 hour to get to the venue. Our Fucken Capt, closer to 2 hrs. Sometimes it is worth the extra travel. Playing with these guys is one of those times.

NAGA, TROG, whichever…. with this farknarckle WHS system putting me of a Hcp of 15, I’m a shoe in.

Mine is 15.7 which means I could be off 19 depending on tees we are playing πFark… yellow tees has a slope of 122 so I’m off 14. As it has a scratch rating of 69 vers Par of 70, you will be off 15 or 16 at a pinch.
Ooops…under the new system I went from 15.4 – 16.7!!
Just did the calculations..16 for me off the Yellow tees…party on!

I agree. Gets to “test” on one of the best courses in Sydney each week, doesn’t play in any comps and then goes to a sprayers paradise like Wollongong, a bit of water, no rough, can be 2 fairways away and still hit the green, beach only comes into play if you have a bad slice or rope hook on a couple of holes (neither are in his game) and gets to play off 16… Pfffft, should be off 12.

Stood over every Drive today feeling like I had NFI….
But.
Somehow the mental game held up to let me shoot a 90 ots from the Blue Tees (slope 138, SR 74) at the home track today in what is known as the “Blue Marker Challenge” …
GA of 15.9 gave me a daily of 20. So, net 70 for a ‘played to’ of 13.1.
New GA of 14.8
Quite frankly I’m rather happy about the result today.
There was no run on the fairways due to recent rain.
There’s never an easy pin placement on these “challenge” days.
Greens were slower than I expected. Took a few holes to get the feel.
Need to analyse the round tomorrow because the post round beers are taking a toll on me ATM.
Don’t analyse, just enjoy. Once you analyse you will try and do the same and be disappointed if it does not happen. Leave it alone and just try and do what you did this round at the next. If you do, great./// If you don’t, who cares… try again next time.

A dozen Pro V golf balls are on their way to mwah… Not only did I break my handicap, but I shot a net 70.
DSR of 74 and slope 138. No PCC adjustment.
Gives me a ‘played to’, or as it’s now known, the ‘differential’ of … 13.1
And here you are bitchin about not enough practice.. Just go out and play the farkin game. Whatever happens, happens. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. OR sometimes it’s fantastic and sometimes it’s ” I want to shoot myself”. It really doesn’t matter which of the 4 you have… you are alive and doing something you enjoy. No matter what the result is, enjoy what you have, sooner rather than later, you will not have it at all.
